Orphaned fair use image (Image:Nitrome button.gif)

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Nitrome button.gif. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Fair use rationale for Image:Mcmlogo.png

edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Mcmlogo.png. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ShakespeareFan00 14:31, 28 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

I have tagged Image:Mtv_eesti.gif as {{no rationale}}, because it does not provide a fair use rationale. If you believe the image to be acceptable for fair use according to Wikipedia policy, please provide a rationale explaining as much, in accordance with the fair use rationale guideline, on the image description page. Please also consider using {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. Thank you. Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Logo propaganda.gif

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Logo propaganda.gif. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 00:49, 14 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

I have tagged Image:FunBrain.com_Logo.png as {{no rationale}}, because it does not provide a fair use rationale. If you believe the image to be acceptable for fair use according to Wikipedia policy, please provide a rationale explaining as much, in accordance with the fair use rationale guideline, on the image description page. Some examples can be found at Wikipedia:Use rationale examples. Please also consider using {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags/Non-free. Thank you. MER-C 10:47, 16 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Nitrome logo.png. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Fair use rationale for File:Cira Centre South.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Cira Centre South.jpg. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Deletion of A day in the life of san fernando

edit

I see you tagged A day in the life of san fernando for speedy deletion under criterion A7 (no indication of importance or significance). I agree that the article should be deleted, but unfortunately A7 does not cover films. I have substituted a PROD. Also, perhaps I can remind you that when nominating a page for deletion you should almost always inform the creator of the page. JamesBWatson (talk) 10:55, 24 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Whoa Nellie Deli

edit

I appreciate you noticing the article I wrote last night, but am not sure why you proposed Whoa Nellie Deli for speedy deletion, as the article I wrote included no promotional material from the restaurant itself or even paraphrases of such material. Instead, I used neutral language and relied on quotations from 7 relaible sources to establish notability. Those included the New York Times, the San Francisco Chronicle, the Los Angeles Times and the San Diego Union-Tribune. These aren't just home town blurbs. Quoting relaible sources is not advertising. I also quoted national magazines like Gourmet and The Atlantic. As a point of fact, I have no connection with the restaurant other than as a satisfied customer. Did you actually read the article and look at the references that clearly establish notability? Fortunately, someone else disagreed with your proposal and removed the flag. I am sure that you acted in good faith but am curious as to your reasoning. Thank you. Cullen328 (talk) 15:21, 25 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

edit

Greetings Gert7 - thank you for your message on my talk page. When you tell me to use "the Administrator intervention against vandalism to report vandalism." and "I assume you have TWINKLE installed, so use the ARV function.", I take it that you refer to a specific case, and reading between the lines, one that I may have slipped up on, but as I use AIV frequently, am not sure exactly which one you are referring to. Please clarify. Cheers! --Technopat (talk) 15:51, 25 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

I was referring to a request for blocking/banning you made on an admin's talk page, but I'm guessing that was from an earlier time. --Gert7 (talk · contribs) 15:53, 25 June 2010 (UTC)Reply
Again, not sure which specific case you refer to, but I often make requests on admin pages when the vandal is not active at that moment - as per AIV guidelines - and I consider the vandalism requires the attention of an admin. As I mentioned above, it's possible that I may have slipped up somewhere, but without knowing which particular case you're referring to, am feeling a bit lost here.--Technopat (talk) 16:00, 25 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

DJ Dee

edit

I saw your "speedy deletion" request for DJ Dee. I took a look at the edits, and it appears that someone hijacked the page from the original article about a member of the electrofunk group Mantronix, and replaced it entirely with an article about a DJ from Luxembourg. I was thinking about revising it back to its original form (that admittedly was a "stub"), and adding a new page for the Luxembourg DJ, but when I attempted to revise, it said that it must be done manually. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Sundevilesq (talk) 16:32, 26 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Mike Smith

edit

Given that Mike Smith is in fact a paid comedian, it is appropriate to have comical edits for him. Given that the internet is the domain of nutters and idiots, of which I am one, it will be entirely impossible to build a serious encyclopedia. Perhaps it will be more serious than the uncyclopedia, but given personal biases, political motives, and commercial interests. The goal of an open, yet serious internet is impossible. It will evolve into a beast of totalitarian control freaks with no interest in anything but total control. Not even facts will be permitted to get in the way of of the Wiki-Freaks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.52.212.244 (talk) 17:03, 10 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for uploading File:Mercado libre logo.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Eyesnore 13:52, 3 February 2018 (UTC)Reply
