Indian martial arts edit

Im the guy who talked to you before about the martial arts article - now signed in for the first time in a few months. I guess I might work on the martial arts articles - they are something im interested in, and contributed to a lot in the past (especially the Kalari one). Also, as I said before, nice to see you working on Indian comics related stuff - another of my diverse interests - I started/wrote the article on the Sadhu, and most other Virgin Comics topics. I cant say whether ill be online often, but good luck with everything. Vastu 20:58, 9 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

If we really wanted to make the Virgin articles good, the best way to do so would be to follow the format of other comic/manga series that have been featured articles, i.e. make sub-articles for the main charecters, plot arcs, etc - for example: a page each for Devi, Detective Singh, Iyam, Bala, etc. There isnt too much material on them right now, because Virgin is only a year old, but it could probably be done for big charecters like James Jensen and Devi/Tara.
I wish they would take a page out of the manga industry, and diversify their material a bit - maybe some series set in an entirely real world setting, perhaps ancient or modern, without any supernatural themes for a change - there is more to Indian fiction than fantasy material alone - I like Phantomville for taking that stance - it would be good to do something original - like a drama about racing high powered bikes Initial D style, or a period epic set during some ancient dynasty, or even just some Mumbai mafia saga.
Ive talked to a few of the writers, and one of them said this sort of thing was on its way. I was concerned at first these comics would be superficially based in Indian themes, but not actually original (i.e. Bala resembles Satan/Sauron type figure, rather than the eastern idea of evil being a product of circumstance), and I was also concerned about the other extreame, of every title being spiritually inclined - but series like Ramayan 3392 have eased that concern - Ramayan 3392 is probably their best work in my opinion, because it runs away with the setting in the way something like Saiyuki does with 'Journey to the West' - it is original and genuine.
Ive written so much stuff promoting them online, that I think I must be responsible for a percentage of their total sales lol :-) Vastu 17:57, 10 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Vandalism edit

Please don't describe other editors' edits as vandalism unless they are actually vandalism.—Nat Krause(Talk!·What have I done?) 18:01, 12 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

RE:Valdalism edit

I urge you to take a look into the action I called vandalism before vouching for the actions of tendentious editors.

"Knverma" asked for redirect on 07:48, 8 May 2007 and went ahead on 07:49, 8 May 2007. It took him less than two mins to blank a well sourced article.

"Knverma" blanked Patriarch (Buddhism) and redirected it to Lineage (Buddhism). It's vandalism.

He blanked content elsewhere.

Sir,
I'll have to ask you to examine the actions of these editors for yourself before you vouch for them; your name is held in high regards by editors like me and your last comment was very unexpected.

Regards, Freedom skies| talk  18:58, 12 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

However, well-intentioned edits are by definition not vandalism, regardless of how much you or I might disagree with them.—Nat Krause(Talk!·What have I done?) 19:01, 12 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
There is a solid concensus to redirect. Arrow740 19:49, 12 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
Freedomskies, just to remind you, the Arbcom's decisions require you to explain any reverts on the talk pages of articles. Knverma 20:04, 12 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
In case of obvious vandalism ? Blanking sourced citations and waiting all of two mins to blank a page amounts to vandalism.
Freedom skies| talk  20:08, 12 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
I'll probably ask for clarification from an admin or some relevant editor. --Knverma 20:12, 12 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
Right, Make sure you ask them if it's not vandalism to blank entire pages and equate Patriarch (Buddhism) and Lineage (Buddhism). Also make sure to ask whether you redirect and then discuss on talk page like you did or discuss on talk page and redirect, keep me posted, ok?
Freedom skies| talk  20:17, 12 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
I posted the matter at Wikipedia:Administrators'_noticeboard/Arbitration_enforcement#User:Freedom_skies. I guess you can provide your comments there. Thanks, --Knverma 20:51, 12 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Warning: Your reversion of the merge of Patriarch (Buddhism) and Lineage (Buddhism) was a violation of your revert parole because you did not discuss it on the talk page. In this case, talk page discussion would be especially important because while you seem to feel that the two articles describe different concepts, you have not, even today, 4 days later, explained on either talk page why the two articles are different. Your continued reference to the merge as vandalism is inappropriate. The merge was proposed on April 18 and in the past month, no one had commented on the merge, so calling the merge vandalism is uncalled for. This incident is a blockable offense under your parole and this is the only warning I will give. Thatcher131 00:27, 17 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Belated welcome to WP:India edit

Welcome!

Hi, and welcome to the India WikiProject! We're a group of editors working to improve Wikipedia's coverage of India.

A few features that you might find helpful:

There are a variety of interesting things to do within the project; you're free to participate however much—or little—you like:

  • Want to know how good our articles are? The assessment department is working on rating the quality of every India article in Wikipedia.
  • Can you code? The automation department uses automated and semi-automated methods to perform batch tasks that would be tedious to do manually.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask another fellow member, and we'll be happy to help you. Again, welcome! We look forward to seeing you around! — Lost(talk) 02:32, 27 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hope you recover quickly from your accident — Lost(talk) 02:32, 27 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
