Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions; however, it appears you may have written a Wikipedia article, or a draft for a Wikipedia article, about yourself. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – please see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Notable people who have edited Wikipedia). If you wish to add to or change an existing article about yourself, you are welcome to propose the changes by visiting the article's talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was the page I created deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss this with the deleting administrator. Thank you. Request reason:

I have taken the time to go through the guidelines of what it a Wikipedian does and also what editors are allowed to do and not allowed to do. I was naive and did not understand it all before I tried to create my own personal Wikipedia page. I accept I made a mistake in trying to create my own personal Wikipedia page and I completely agree that it seemed like I was trying to advertise myself and my company but I honestly did not mean to do that. I did not understand how it worked but I have now done a lot of research and understood what I am allowed and not allowed to do. We are human and make mistakes. I made a mistake and want to be given another chance as it was an honest mistake and it was my first mistake. Please I want the restriction on my account lifted so I can have access to editing again. I promise to rectify the mistakes I made and will not make the same mistakes again. I will remove what I have posted that does not abide by the guidelines and will always keep to the rules. Decline reason:

Your response sounds like it was generated by an AI, so I'll decline with the canned reason:
I am declining your unblock request because it does not address the reason for your block, or because it is inadequate for other reasons. To be unblocked, you must convince the reviewing administrator(s) that

  • the block is not necessary to prevent damage or disruption to Wikipedia, or
  • the block is no longer necessary because you
    1. understand what you have been blocked for,
    2. will not continue to cause damage or disruption, and
    3. will make useful contributions instead.

Please read the guide to appealing blocks for more information. You should also indicate, in your next unblock request, what kinds of articles you would like to edit. - UtherSRG (talk) 15:06, 23 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:Franklin Ugwu

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Draft:Franklin Ugwu, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Hello, Frankywright. Thank you for helping to build Wikipedia-- the world's largest free content encyclopedia. A page you created  Draft:Franklin Ugwu has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seemed to be unambiguous advertising which only promoted a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to have been fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic.

This article needs to be rewritten from scratch from reliable, third party sources unconnected to the subject. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia. It is not an outlet for promotion, advocacy, or advertising.

Information on content and common pitfalls to avoid can be located here and here, however be aware that this is not an exhaustive list. Pages can sometimes avoid these pitfalls and still be seen as an ad copy or unambiguously promotional, particularly if the editor appears to be a paid editor or has some other conflict of interest. Please review these policies, including the FAQ page on organizations to determine if this applies to you.

Common mistakes or beliefs about promotional editing center on the assumption that promotional editing only applies to promotion for commercial gain. Some tags or G11 nominations are met with confusion by creators, particularly if they spend much time reading or creating corporate documents, mission/vision statements, or similar copy for their organization. The frequent exposure to promotional tone may make it difficult to notice non-neutral phrases or styles, as the editor has grown accustomed to seeing it as everyday writing or speech. This can be difficult, but not impossible, to unlearn.

Another common assumption is that the prohibition against promotional editing applies only to businesses or organizations. Anything can be promoted, including a person, a non-commercial organization, a point of view, etc. and CV/resumé's are by their nature promotional.

Wikipedia is an encyclopedia-- subjects must meet notability guidelines with reliable sources that are unconnected with the subject and providing verifiable information. That generally means someone unconnected with the subject needs to have written a great deal about the subject. Please see this page on citing sources and Wikipedia:Common sourcing mistakes (notability). This page has templates you can use in citing your sources. Place the template {{Reflist}} at the bottom of the page, and references cited in the text will appear there. New article creation can be difficult, but the Article Wizard can help you. The new user tutorial can help you avoid future problems. You can ask for help at Wikipedia:WikiProject Articles for creation/Help desk and on IRC chat Wikipedia:The Wikipedia Adventure is a useful tutorial.

New article creation can be difficult and frustrating. Sometimes it is better to first gain experience by fixing and helping maintain existing articles. Wikipedia:Community portal/Opentask contains links to things that badly need doing, if you are so inclined. UtherSRG (talk) 15:02, 23 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

How can you say my reply sounds like it was generated by Ai? I don’t know if to take it as a complement or an insult. How can Ai know what my message was ment to be all about. I have explained to you that I made a mistake and I have learned from my mistake but you don’t seem to be willing to give me a second chance. How do I need to prove to you that I have read the guidelines and understood, other than by having the chance to prove it. Please don’t take this personal. I made a mistake and I have understood my mistakes and will not make them again. Frankywright (talk) 15:27, 23 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

Your chance to prove it is now. You can start by specifically stating that you agree you won't attempt to create an article about yourself, and tell us specifically what your mistakes were and what you will do differently. 331dot (talk) 16:31, 23 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

I was only trying to create a talk page about how Ai can help Africa. I also tried to quote my sources. I also tried to write a Bio page on Wikipedia and not to advertise anything. I was requested to provide links to verify my information, which is why I included links to the information. When told to remove the links, I did immeidately. I am new to this and this is why I made some mistakes. Please review what I wrote and reconsider your decision. I have been doing some research and will be more careful next time before trying to publish something. Frankywright (talk) 17:55, 21 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

This does not convince me you understand what was wrong with your edits. This is far beyond what links you do or do not include. For example, see WP:COI, WP:PROMO, and WP:NOR. Probably, WP:NOT, too. Yamla (talk) 20:17, 21 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

I agree that I made a mistake and I agree that I will not attempt to create an article about myself anymore. I have read the guidelines and I now understand that I must never try to promote myself or anything related to me on Wikipedia. My mistake was trying to create an article that was all about me which is a way of self-promoting and advertising. I will delete the drafts I and publication I made and will be more careful next time not to make the same mistake again Frankywright (talk) 12:42 pm, 23 January 2024, last Tuesday (5 days ago) (UTC−5)
