Thomas Bridges (Anglican missionary)

Hello, I noticed that you were interested in improving this page and I would like to thank you for the work you plan to do. Once the page is fully referenced and the lead section has been improved, I plan to have it reassessed for quality. Hopefully we can work the article up to at least B-Class. Hi Ryan, I'm not sure if this is the proper place for me to respond... You have done a great job shortening a very long entry on Mr. Bridges. I purchased my Yamana - English dictionary in Coihaque, Chile in 1999. I plan to draw some of my info from the introduction. It appears that this book is not currently available for sale on the Internet. I'm not sure if I referenced it correctly.

It's fascinating that Rae Natalie Prosser Goodall (who signs the introduction as Rev. Bridges' great-grand-daughter-in-law) states that the original manuscript is still missing. The link posted on the Wikipedia entry from the NY Times from 1910 explains the loss of at least one of the manuscripts to Dr. Cook who tried to pass it off as his own. However, he had plans in 1910 to publish it in Belgium and you see below that it was actually published in 1933 in Austria. I wonder if there was an earlier publication date.

At any rate, it will be a couple of weeks before I have time to read through the material to make sense of it all -- but I very much look forward to doing so.
