Fair use rationale for Image:General_Otmin.png

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:General_Otmin.png. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ElinorD (talk) 23:01, 13 October 2007 (UTC)

Featured List of the Day Experiment

There have been a series of proposals to initiate a Featured List of the Day on the main page. Numerous proposals have been put forth. After the third one failed, I audited all WP:FL's in order to begin an experiment in my own user space that will hopefully get it going. Today, it commences at WP:LOTD. Afterwards I created my experimental page, a new proposal was set forth to do a featured list that is strikingly similar to my own which is to do a user page experimental featured list, but no format has been confirmed and mechanism set in place. I continue to be willing to do the experiment myself and with this posting it commences. Please submit any list that you would like to have considered for list of the day in the month of January 2008 by the end of this month to WP:LOTD and its subpages. You may submit multiple lists for consideration.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:LOTD) 01:51, 16 November 2007 (UTC)

Complete

So no Scrimgeour, Gaunts or Greyback? Ah well, I'll take it at face value as chances are there will be some more castings... Anyway, I'm going to mock up some re-designed cast section now, so I can get your opinion of it. Gran2 15:25, 16 November 2007 (UTC)

Okay, you can see my design here (the first section). Now this is how I would ideally like to see the section, not taking into account anyone else views. I know you'd prefer a casting section but after re-writing the whole thing, I really think it works better without one. Any info that isn't specific to a character I have put at the bottom. Currently, I think something like this is better than a casting section, but that's my personal preference. Anyway, I've put very basic non-speculating what they'll include/spoilerific descriptions, which you might wanna work on. Also, the reason for some being bolded and not others is based on amount of info, because bolding is done to make each character stand out against large sections of text, which at the moment, some of them aren’t (although as production progresses, they most certainly will). This order may need some changing and any additions/subtractions to. Anyway, I hope you like, and understand where I'm going with it, and I'm of course open to changes. Gran2 17:11, 16 November 2007 (UTC)
Right, as a few IPs have started to add stuff from the press release, I went ahead and implemented my draft, at least so its up to date and isn't a mess. I would have preferred to have waited for your opinion, but needs must. Anyway, I still would really love to have your views on it, and any possible changes. Gran2 19:45, 16 November 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for the praise! As for the cast list lead... maybe summarise the main cast members, and who they play. Gran2 20:05, 17 November 2007 (UTC)

List of Harry Potter films cast members

I would like to call your attention to the 500 character limit on nominations. Your nomination will be chopped at the 500th character if you do not edit it yourself by the close of nominations. --TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:LOTD) 20:04, 18 November 2007 (UTC)

The character count is based on what the reader sees. Others have been warned as well. It is so that if this becomes a regular feature and grows people will not have read too much to feel that they are being introduced to the article. Hopefully, the judging will really be done on the lists after clickthrough.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:LOTD) 21:28, 18 November 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for re editing. Also, thanks for being the first to adopt an article. Many new orphans have been posted by the way.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:LOTD) 21:31, 18 November 2007 (UTC)

You sure that image of Radcliffe isn't intrusive to the key box? Alientraveller (talk) 11:56, 19 November 2007 (UTC)

Indeed, remove it. The page looks funky enough as a table. Alientraveller (talk) 13:38, 19 November 2007 (UTC)
Articles are suppose to have main images. Any article that hopes to be a main page feature must have one. If this experiment is extremely successful, it may result in main page inclusion. You need some sort of main image for the article. Choose one to your liking and rearrange the article accordingly.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:LOTD) 18:35, 19 November 2007 (UTC)
Until you decide on a suitable image for the list, I have replaced the nominee picture with a placeholder image. If you don't like the placeholder, currently being used you can choose your own from Category:Wikipedia image placeholders.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:LOTD) 22:56, 19 November 2007 (UTC)

Daniel Radcliffe

I jsut updated the nominees by including pictures. I added one for your list. You are free to change it. I also added it as the main image to your list. Again, feel free to change it.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:LOTD) 22:02, 18 November 2007 (UTC)
