Babel template

Hi. In your user page, you have used the native speaker template for English. Since you are Brazilian, even if your level of proficiency in the language is extremely high, I'd recommend you switch to the near-native template. Speedy deletion

Hi Fbergo. You recently marked several articles for speedy deletion. The reason given was Ad of non-notable company. I don't think that this is an accepted WP:CSD. In my opinion, these articles ought to go to WP:VfD. Pburka 19:11, August 6, 2005 (UTC)

The articles I marked for speedy deletion were all added in a close time period by the same user, who also wrote a self-biographical wikipedia article (this one I added to VfD as recommended by the policy -- K.Grafstein). According to Wikipedia:Deletion_of_vanity_articles, vanity articles which are certain to be non-notable (as was the case - the user was adding the small businesses of his own as articles) may be tagged for speedy deletion. Next time I will use VfD instead, but maybe the policy could be clearer on Ads of non-notable companies (as opposed to people) ?. Regards, Fbergo 00:38, 7 August 2005 (UTC)

As currently worded, the policy only applies to real people (i.e. not fictional characters, companies, etc). There was quite a bit of debate about this, and the general consensus was that the criteria should be as narrow as possible to prevent abuse. Pburka 01:40, August 7, 2005 (UTC)

Howdy, from 12 May to 31 Aug 2016, Temer was still Vice President. That's why he was able to assume the presidential powers & duties as Acting President :) He didn't cease being VP during that time. Hi, Fbergo,

I have blanked the article Markus Konká which you recently listed at WP:PNT as {{not English}} for WP:COPYVIO. When you find an article that seems to get created full-blown from nothing, don't forget to check for possible cut-paste copyright violations.

There are probably more sophisticated methods to find these than what I do, but fwiw I just choose a short string of words, maybe 3-7 words, that are unusual or not likely to occur word-for-word in many other places. Then I put that phrase inside double quotes, and search for it in Google. Took me about 15 seconds to find the source of the plagiarism. Hope this helps! The English grammar and word choices ("resembled", "expression") is outright wrong. I say that the description of modal representation is not quite correct either. Your edits blanked a "citation needed" tag with no explanation or additional references (which is borderline vandalism), introduced inadequate grammar and punctuation, among other issues. C++ tools used in C code

Can you elaborate why my statement about how modern C++ tools such as the ones being developed by the LLVM foundation also benefiting legacy C codebases is "bs"? BernardoSulzbach (talk) 02:42, 3 November 2018 (UTC)

In time, this is an example of Clang-Tidy which is described as a "C++ linter" being used to analyze C code. Despite being a very minimalistic example (only showing that it works and produces valid output), it serves to demonstrate the usability of the tool with C even if it is mostly used in C++ projects. I do think that the fact that C++ tools are applicable to C because of how C++ still is almost a superset of C is relevant enough for the article in question. @BernardoSulzbach: C is not a subset of C++ [1]. Programming languages are formal languages, and there is no such thing as "similar enough" when evaluating language correctness. Clang is a C, C++ and Objective-C front-end to LLVM, and it has the grammar of each of those languages properly coded separatedly. It doesn't parse C as an accident of parsing C++. Claiming in an encyclopedia that C is close enough to C++ that a tool built only for C++ will work for C, especially when it comes to checking code correctness, is misleading and incorrect. Hi Fbergo, Even from edit 1 of this user (and 123.243.100.66, the same real life person edits from here, too - no offence) to the most recent, any edits other users (like you, but more than a few others, too) thought was vandalism and from one of the 2 above IP's was just pure opinion on how to write things right (excuse the pun). The greatest issue in all this was the representation of integral scores. Wikipedia should keep its style consistent. I know that some websites reporting on the WCC report scores as "1.0 - 1.0" (such as chess.com), but this is not wikipedia's style and there is a large number of articles with the current style. When I accused you of vandalism, I did use the incorrect term, what I had in mind was disruptive editing. Welcome to wikipedia and thanks for contributing. BTW The content in the post starting with the words 'Apology retracted' is at least partially if not completely incorrect especially with editing logging out and the related hell (it's nowhere near hell even if it were the worst possible thing on Wikipedia which of course isn't based on the contributions of IP's like 76.117.247.55). Edits aren't related to why I don't plan on getting an account (the only thing that is related is that I currently don't think I'd have permission to get an account and as a result I might get used to editing as an IP in the future no matter what). Speaking of headers I will either use them in conjunction with commenting them out or not at all from now on although that said they still wouldn't look ugly to me on the article (I wasn't purposefully deteriorating anything in fact I thought what I was inserting had been done for previous matches). If you must agree on how bad I am please use some milder terms because I don't think I was being that bad in fact you were told by others that such terms were violating WP:BITE. The Python article in wikipedia is an encyclopedic article about a relevant technology, not a Python portal or repository of "useful" links. Hi, this edit (Aadhar) is not redundant. And it does not contradict information. While the lead of the article talks about what services it is not mandatory for, it does not mention the ones for which it is mandatory (such as income tax, welfare etc.) I plan to add this information as well.

The lead of the article should be short, simple, and direct, per MOS:LEAD. Aadhaar enrollment being mandatory for each specific use is discussed throughout the article and it is a lengthy and contentious issue (in India, not wikipedia), subject of several judicial rulings in India. Any statements about the matter should definitely be properly sourced, per WP:V. Editors should not add unsourced information to wikipedia. Several of the claims in that article have conflicting scientific results, such as the Ivermectin one. Selectively picking only the reliable sources that fit the narrative is bad faith, to say the least. Putting together a string of cherry-picked sources to back up authoritarian measures as an encyclopedic article taints Wikipedia's purpose and credibility. Why did you remove my lead in JavaScript?

Every programming language article has in its lead section where the language comes from: which year, who designed it, what does its name mean. I added this for JavaScript as I opened that article only to read on its origin.

Now it’s especially important for JavaScript to contain its name origin in the lead as it has such a confusing name!

The guidelines for lead sections are given in MOS:LEAD. Leads should introduce the subject being brief and not too specific. The history of Javascript is detailed in the section that immediately follows. The original name LiveScript was a temporary internal name, dropped after the beta release, and is now just history trivia. This is different from the B language that originated C, which was an actual different programming language that preceded it.

The origin of Javascript's name is adequately described in the "Creation at Netscape" subsection that immediately follows. Javascript is a scripting language and its design heavily borrowed syntax elements from the Java language, which was being introduced at that time. It is not confusing at all.
