Hello, Fabianoda, and welcome to Wikipedia! It appears you are a course instructor leading a class project.

New to Wikipedia or want to learn about best practices for Wikipedia assignments?

Go through our online training for educators

The training includes instructions for setting up a structured course page, with tools for tracking student work and encouraging peer review. Please also see this helpful advice for instructors.

If you run into problems or want some feedback on your Wikipedia assignment plans, try posting to the education noticeboard.

We hope you like it here and encourage you to stay after your assignment is finished! Drmies (talk) 16:30, 13 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

[copied from elsewhere] Thank you very much for your response, @Drmies, also appreciated! I understand the important role you and others are playing. I will also take a look at the resources you've provided, there is a LOT of information about Wikipedia and also related to educational initiatives, and it's sometimes hard to find the most up-to-date info. So, thank you very much for helping out. Fabianoda (talk)

  • Sure thing--glad to help. Yes, it can be hard to find all the stuff, esp. since the Education leg went its own way, so to speak. But again, User:Ian (Wiki Ed) knows all that needs to be known, and might drop by here. For your students, and I'm speaking here as a college professor who had to adjust their writing style to Wikipedia, that switch from descriptive and argumentative to encyclopedic writing can be tricky: it's ALL based on secondary sourcing. Thanks, and take care, Drmies (talk) 17:18, 13 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for the ping @Drmies.
@Fabianoda, the org I work with only supports classes in the US and Canada, but if you drop by Wikipedia:Education noticeboard you can leave a message and someone should be able to put you in touch, either with the Wikimedia Foundation's education team (which supports class assignments in places where there isn't a dedicated group) or with a group that supports educational assignments in the Netherlands. @Ian (Wiki Ed) yes, I think I had indeed seen the education program but then realized it was only for US/Canada institutions. I will check the noticeboard and then post there should I need extra support! Fabianoda (talk) 11:15, 16 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
