July 2009 edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed maintenance templates from Brad Mays. When removing maintenance templates, please be sure to either resolve the problem that the template refers to, or give a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, as your removal of this template has been reverted. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Please read about notability and reliable sources. I changed the tag to improving references, but it's closely related to notability. Some of your references do not even mention the subject, and IMDB is not "significant coverage", nor much of a source Omarcheeseboro (talk) 12:15, 15 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Schooled (film) edit

The article Schooled (film) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable film.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. - Realkyhick (Talk to me) 23:05, 3 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

"Having value" and meeting Wikipedia's notability standards are two entirely different things. Only the latter is of any importance here. - Realkyhick (Talk to me) 23:38, 3 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
Understood, Realkyhick, and I cop to being euphemistic. I invite you to monitor my progress on this article, and advise accordingly. I will do my best to be responsive and polite, and do sincerely appreciate your help here. I believe this film to be notable and am asking only for a bit of time in which to demonstrate same.Evalpor (talk) 02:50, 4 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion declined: Larry D. Webster edit

Hello Evalpor. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Larry D. Webster, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: I cannot find a sourcefor the alleged copyright violation. Please specify the source using the url= parameter. Thank you. SoWhy 13:44, 10 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Understood. I was very uncertain of the proper procedure for the tagging I executed. I found virtually the same biography on IMDB. But I am nothing if not a team player here, and when I mess up I'm happy to learn from it. Please let me know if and how my tag has created problems for or within the project, for edification's sake. Welcome edit

Glad to see new faces at the squadron!

Hi, Evalpor, welcome to the Article Rescue Squadron! We are a growing community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to identifying and rescuing articles that have been tagged for deletion. Every day hundreds of articles are deleted, many rightfully so. But many concern notable subjects and are poorly written, which can be fixed and should not be deleted. We try to help these articles quickly improve and address the concerns of why they are proposed for deletion. This covers a lot of ground and your help is appreciated!

If you have any questions, feel free to post a question on the talk page.
