I am doing it the manual way as I still a relatively new editor. I see that you have applied for a webtool above. I am building my reputation by going on vandal patrol whenever possible and contributing to articles. Hi, I have the PSD (Photoshop) with which I created this image, but not on this computer. It will take a bit of time to convert it to SVG, but I do not see any urgent need. I am not very experienced with vector graphics either (if I was I would have done it in SVG in the first place). However, you are welcome to convert it, but I would just ask if you can to make sure you preserve the original detail. As I said before, SVG is good but since we don't need this image in gigantic sizes, and it's not for print, we are not in urgent need of an SVG version. Templates

Hello, thank you for helping deal with vandalism! One comment, though — the user talk namespace templates are usually "substed", so that instead of, say, {{test}} you write {{subst:test}}. It's not a big deal, but it prevents your edit from being altered if somebody changes the template after you use it. Again, thanks for helping revert vandalism! Vandal warnings

I think you and I both know that 99% of the time when you see certain types of vandalism you know what the vandal is up to. I would love to just have the ability to block on the spot. But there are processes that have been outlined in the policy documents that tell us that we can't bite the newbies, must assume good faith, and don't scare off new editors that just make mistakes, etc. When evaluating whether or not to block a vandal, most admins look to see if a proper set of warnings (test1, test2, test3, test4) were given and violated. I've seen admins not block if the vandal patroller jumped straight to test4 and leave a harsh comment about being too aggressive on the patroller's talk page. I don't know about you, but I don't want harsh admin messages on my talk page. And if they do get put there I think it tends to diminish your credibility with vandals and peers. Take this note or leave it but I figured you'd rather have a friendly note from a peer that you can remove than a harsh one from an admin that you (technically) can't remove. -- Mufka ^{(user) (talk) (contribs)} 20:52, 12 January 2007 (UTC)

No, it was just that I saw that you had given a couple of anon vandals a test4 immediately on their first contrib (granted it was vandalism) or had jumped from a test1 to a test4. I've seen people get scolded for that. That's all.-- Mufka ^{(user) (talk) (contribs)} 21:14, 12 January 2007 (UTC)

Hmmm the last time I did that, I think it was after a progressive blanking pattern (means, blanking litle part by litle part, to avoid detection by our software), when I see that "pattern" I asked on irc wich warning would be appropriate, and told them about test4im ("Only warning" instead of last warning) and first they told me test3 then said "oh forgot about it, take this one"). Any advice about wich warning to take next time ? -- Esurnir 21:18, 12 January 2007 (UTC)

Unfortunately, I've found that if you want to be really productive against stuff like that, you have to get in the middle of it and give progressive warnings. It does make my skin crawl that I have to sometimes wait until a vandal vandalizes again before I can give the warning that I know they deserve. But that's the only way that I have no problems when asking for a block. Some of the admins are very particular. Look here for a list of the templates that I use. I usually start at test2 and go from there. It's more work but I rarely run afoul of the bureaucracy. The only time I give an only warning (test4im) is for a vandal just off a block or with a recent last warning (not the same day). -- Mufka ^{(user) (talk) (contribs)} 21:30, 12 January 2007 (UTC)

Well you are wrong because a band doesn't have to have more than 1 album. That is just one possible requirement of many that a band may meet to meet notabilty requirements. And please sign your posts, and you should have added a new heading. Magazine reviews are not newspapers listing dates of shows. --E tac 21:27, 12 January 2007 (UTC)

A {{db-bio}} template isn't suitable for user pages. I've left it on, but an admin will remove it. Regarding E Tac's message above, you'll probably be well aware that you can speedy articles of any age. I have to say that, heartless deletionist that I am, I probably wouldn't have added {{db-band}} to Temple of Blood. I would, however, have added {{notability}} and {{unref}}. Keep up the good work! Fade (novel)

Hi, I noticed that you recently made a revert to the Fade (novel) page. It seems to have been edited over the past few days by the same person under numerous accounts (ie sockpuppets). The same kind of POV review of the novel is being added by about 8 different user names and an ip address. I've never really encountered this kind of vandalism before and wondered if you could help in any way. I've looked at WP:SSP but am still a bit clueless as to how to proceed to be honest. Frida Kahlo

I got a vandalism warning recently for a change i did on the Frida Kahlo page. The sentences I purged were opinionated and stated that she was a "loose" woman and were a completely biased description of her with no sources to back it up. French Weapons of Mass Destruction

Esurnir - there is also a good site on the French Wikipedia about the Force de Frappe - I have no objection to merging all three articles - in English and French - for that matter we could reintegrate Gerboise Bleue and Operation Canopus as well - but I am not sure how that would fit with rules of the Military History Project - maybe you need to ask them.
