Hi, Envergure. I'm just a bit confused by your description of duophony. Wouldn't it be more correct to say that a duophonic synthesizer can produce two different notes simultaneously, because it has two independent oscillators? - Richard Cavell (talk) 02:46, 7 December 2008 (UTC)
- I'm not sure I understand the difference between your suggestion and the description I used. It you want to fine-tune the wording, go ahead. I understand writing far less than I do synthesizers! It just has to be clear that a duophonic synth is not actually polyphonic (ie. having multiple copies of the synthesis circuitry). Now, this is the first page i've created. Having started it, am I its sole moderator or something? (just wondering 1. why you posted to my page instead of to talk:Duophony? and 2. why you tell me this instead if simply editing the page:) Please don't ban me for beeing such a n00bEnvergure (talk) 03:03, 7 December 2008 (UTC)
- Maybe the problem is one of expression. I would say that a duophonic synthesizer is a polyphonic synthesizer that has only two oscillators. Perhaps the word 'polyphonic' should only be used, particularly in the present day, only to refer to those synths that can produce more than about 4 sounds at once.
- You're not the page's moderator, but I wanted to talk to you about the page before messing with it. I posted here rather than the talk page because I noticed that you were new here, and wasn't sure if you would check the talk page. - Funny - I was just tweaking it and when I hit "preview" your changes were there.
- I think having "both" and "separately" together sounds awkward, but then I'm no English major. I think "independant" would be more accurate than "separate" because, although the oscillators can be pitched differently, they must sound simultaneously. One oscillator may not sound alone, unless of course the circuitry's been hacked.

Note: Roland Jupiter-8 (1980/1981) is not notable on Polyphony (instrument), because it was historically not important (for other than Roland Corporation themselves), and slightly minor product (produced about 2,000).

Nomination of Punch capacitor for deletion edit
The article Punch capacitor is being discussed concerning whether it is suitable for inclusion as an article according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

Bridge driver? edit
If you have a reliable source for an H bridge being called a bridge driver, you need to add that to the article to support the new terminology. And you like to inverter was ambiguous (it linked to a disambig page); and you probably don't want that in the lead paragraph. Try again? Dicklyon (talk) 01:12, 6 March 2011 (UTC)
