Re: edit

Massive addition of links, crosswiki, is anyway spam, and that's not allowed by our policies. --Vituzzu (talk) 12:15, 25 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

OK, I understand this, and will not do it again, but please allow me to restore it where it's 1 link and relevant. Thanks (Emmanuel678 (talk) 12:28, 25 January 2017 (UTC))Reply
Please let me know when I can put back the links not in a massive way. Mikraot Gedolot Haketer is one of the most important project in Jewish studies, and you put it us a spam becouse of my mistake. (Emmanuel678 (talk) 10:47, 26 January 2017 (UTC))Reply
Importance of a project is not related to the number of links. I think that reviewing Wikipedia:External links is pertinent, and particularly to note that the section is not for a directory of links. I would also encourage you to think quality of links, not volume of links. The other thing that you can consider is whether the project is sufficiently notable to have an article. — billinghurst sDrewth 22:33, 26 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
I put those links where there are "Parasha" at the "Torah/Bible" so people can see it in Hebrew (most people who look for the term "Parasha" speak Hebrew). but us I said, I will not do it again without clear permition from the community. There is an English article here and Hebrew article here. Tanks for your remarks! (Emmanuel678 (talk) 22:53, 26 January 2017 (UTC))Reply
I was referring to all the links added over time. To the site you are adding the links here are either exclusively, or predominantly, added by you, which can be concern with regard to potential conflict of interest. To avoid those difficulties, the use of a talk page to suggest an addition can be useful. We understand passion for a site and a subject, as we have it for this site, or the projects in general; balance is the issue that we look to have in place. — billinghurst sDrewth 23:12, 26 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
I'm totally agree, and I will act accordingly. (Emmanuel678 (talk) 23:22, 26 January 2017 (UTC))Reply

February 2019 edit

This is your only warning; if you insert a spam link to Wikipedia again, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Persistent spammers may have their websites blacklisted, preventing anyone from linking to them from all Wikimedia sites as well as potentially being penalized by search engines. Doug Weller talk 11:01, 22 February 2019 (UTC)Reply

I might block you anyway. I'll see what User:Billinghurst says. You broke the agreement that you made with him here. Doug Weller talk 11:02, 22 February 2019 (UTC)Reply
those link is not spam. it's a project at bar ilan university to take pictures of all the biblical sites in israel by drone. I didn't understood that I can't add anything.
Thanks for the ping Doug.

Emmanuel678: Is this the sort of thing that you would expect and desire to see in an encyclopaedia? That general guidance would indicate otherwise, and our specific guidance at Wikipedia:Directory gives some more detail. While I am not the expert for Wikiversity, it sounds like what you are undertaking is more appropriate to be built through English Wikiversity where they can explore it differently from an article. At the same time, if the community saw notability and value in an encyclopaedic article about the project to undertake these pictures of biblical sites, then these links could have pertinence. I am thinking that Wikipedia:Teahouse may be a good place to gain some understanding and guidance on how we operate, and I am not seeing your additions as malicious, just not in line with our guidance.

Doug, on those pages, the links added were among others added that were out of scope, not just those by this contributor, so I can understand some confusion. I would think that some mentorship from Teahouse would be beneficial and should alleviate our need to block this user. — billinghurst sDrewth 00:00, 23 February 2019 (UTC)Reply

Addendum. I think that there is a hint of editing with a vested interest. Worthwhile looking at the guidance at Wikipedia:Conflict of interest and Wikipedia:Paid editing and seeing if you should be adding any declaration of interest to your user page. Where one has a vested interest, an article talk page is the place to suggest a link addition, not adding that link oneself. — billinghurst sDrewth 00:04, 23 February 2019 (UTC)Reply
Unfortunately I didn't read Talk:Jericho first. Your additions look to be promotional, and solely promotional. Adding just to external links, and not adding useful content is just link spam. This sort of addition of link spam without declarations of interest will lead to you getting blocked, and the link blacklisted and removed. The value of the link may save it, however, links can get so poisoned by conflicted editing that it is unfortunate for the target site. — billinghurst sDrewth 00:32, 23 February 2019 (UTC)Reply
@Billinghurst: normally I'd explain about WP:EL and that a lot of editors add inappropriate material, etc, but when I found that this editor had agreed not to do what they'd just done, I didn't think it worthwhile. There was a small benefit to their editors, I got rid of one huge linkfarm and a numer of other inappropriate links. Doug Weller talk 19:23, 23 February 2019 (UTC)Reply
I'm not part of Mikraot Gedolot Haketer. My father-Prof Menachem Cohen, is the head of this Project at Bar Ilan University and that is the only connection that I have to this Project. I added those links, after the community at the Hebrew Wiki decided that this is important links. I did it in the same subjects that I got permition to add links at the Hebrew Wiki. I didn't know that I had to ask separately in each language. emmanuel678
You Blocked me, I ask you to consider it again. I explained what happend, I will not get into the English Wikipedia anymore. emmanuel678 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 5.29.63.53 (talk) 23:23, 23 February 2019 (UTC)Reply
