Welcome edit

Hey there, EdgarAllanToe. Welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you enjoy being a Wikipedian and decide to stay! Here are a few good links for newcomers (or "oldcomers" for reference):

By the way, you should sign and date your comments on talk and vote pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~. Three tildes (~~~) produces just your name. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome!

Great, just what we need around this place... more Romantic Toets. :) Cheers. --Lord Voldemort (Dark Mark) 19:47, 7 September 2005 (UTC)Reply

Hi edit

I'm looking around and around for nice big pics and you put them all in that so-called "info-boxes" - and make them small. I've have seen that some people want that info-box shit, and i agree - but only if no information disappears and only when the pics remain as big as i have put them in. Greetings MutterErde 21:05, 8 September 2005 (UTC) btw. if you have problems with that template then take the other one like in India Allen.Reply

Thanks for your message edit

I'm flattered by your message. However, if I wanted to put more about myself on my user page, I would. Taxwoman 22:30, 10 September 2005 (UTC)Reply

Licensing edit

I avoided uploading images for quite a while for the same reason. Now that I understand a bit about it, I find that it is easy to do and enhanced the article. Wikipeida believes that DVD and video covers are all fair use, so there will be no problems adding them in:

  1. Find a DVD or video cover that features the relevant person,
  2. save it to your computer,
  3. click "upload file" in the list to the left,
  4. browse for the file name that you have saved it under,
  5. choose "DVD cover" or "Video cover" from the drop-down menu that is provided,
  6. click on some button to begin upload. This is will take some seconds, but not long.
  7. Add the following into the article: [[Image:filename.jpg|right|frame|Any text you want to add, e.g., Leonardo di Caprio in ''Titanic'']] where filename is the name of the file that you saved.

Enjoy, Zeromacnoo 16:01, 19 September 2005 (UTC)Reply

i don't think my pic on aika miura was false.. could you check it out!! btw.. i found aika on rei here http://www.flickr.com/photos/mikeabundo/187102037/ (give link don't cause a pain) --Landavia 07:58, 3 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Info on image, please edit

Please go to Image:HannahHarperBlueTop.jpg and edit that image description page to give the source (URL, if online; ISBN, if scanned from a book; and if you've taken the image yourself, just say so) and the licensing status (the list of image copyright tags might be useful) of this image. All our images should have this information. Thank you. Lupo 11:31, 26 September 2005 (UTC) (If no source is supplied, the image will be deleted.)Reply

BTW, if you claim "fair use" you should provide a detailed fair use rationale addressing the four points of fair use. Lupo 11:32, 26 September 2005 (UTC)Reply

Notability and porn edit

Hiya Just to make this 100% clear, I do believe that notable porn actors should be listed on wikipedia. However (as with Africa (porn star)) some of the listings leave so much to be desired that they're simply a pointless strain on the servers and give the category a bad name. Now, I really am not much into porn, and sometimes I won't spot a famous name if her article is badly written (as seems to have happened with Careena Collins). Would you be interested in collaborating with me on a clean-up? I'm going through all the actress listings (slowly) - what I could do is send you the names of the articles that look completely unnotable/vanity/advertising etc and you could let me know which of them should be saved. It'd be really great to be able to use your expertise. Cheers, Vizjim 11:15, 28 September 2005 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Teresa May (actress) edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Teresa May (actress), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here.
