Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Nonresidential water use, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Service. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hello, I'm Zackmann08. Thank you for your recent contributions to Marcin Schroeder. I noticed that when you added the image to the infobox, you added it as a thumbnail. In the future, please do not use thumbnails when adding images to an infobox (see WP:INFOBOXIMAGE). What does this mean? Well in the infobox, when you specify the image you wish to use, instead of doing it like this:

|image=[[File:SomeImage.jpg|thumb|Some image caption]]

Instead just supply the name of the image. So in this case you can simply do:

|image=SomeImage.jpg.

There will then be a separate parameter for the image caption such as |caption=Some image caption. Please note that this is a generic form message I am leaving on your page because you recently added a thumbnail to an infobox. The specific parameters for the image and caption may be different for the infobox you are using! Please consult the Template page for the infobox being used to see better documentation. Thanks! Thank you Zackmann08 for the explanation on the use of "thumb" in the Infobox. After reading the references you suggested I understand it now. Will use the default syntax.

Please do not use thumbnails inside of infoboxes as you did to Alan Schoen. Note that this is your second warning regarding this issue. Continuing to add thumbnails will be seen as disruptive editing. For more information please see WP:INFOBOXIMAGE. When adding an image, instead of doing:

|image=[[File:SomeImage.jpg|thumb|Some image caption]]

You can simply supply the name of the image. So in this case just do:

|image=SomeImage.jpg.

Incorrect use of "thumbnail" in Infobox

edit

@Zackmann08: Sorry for using the thumbnail again. However, I did remove the "thumb" designation from the file: *.jpg string that came from Wikimedia Commons (after I uploaded the image). However, the image did not go into the infobox but was placed as a v. big photo in the main text. Then, I experimented a bit without success. Assuming that what I had was a different type of Infobox I put the thumb back and adjusted the photo. I will certainly be more careful in the future and study the Infobox formats more carefully. My apologies.DziegielewskiBA (talk) 23:14, 31 October 2017 (UTC) I see my mistake now: I forgot to remove the square brackets [[ }] from around the *.jpg filename. Will know now.DziegielewskiBA (talk) 23:20, 31 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

@JuTa: Thank you for your message. I asked Dr. Alan Schoen to check out the copyright status of his 1968 photo (and also of the computer generated image of the gyroid unit cell). Both are used on his BLP page I created. I hope he will make the determination soon so I can add the information to the uploaded files. Yours sincerely,DziegielewskiBA (talk) 11:19, 1 November 2017 (UTC)Reply
