Orphaned non-free media (Image:Agantu-p.jpg)

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Agantu-p.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 19:11, 31 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Jana ar-p.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Jana ar-p.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 06:44, 1 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Let's Collaborate on Sunderbans and Cox's Bazar

edit

Hello! Please note Sunderbans and Cox's Bazar have been selected as the current WikiProject Bangladesh collaboration topics. As you may be aware that these two are currently candidates for natural wonders of the world, it is extremely important to ensure that the Wikipedia articles on these topics make a clear and complete reflection of these topics. Any contribution that you can make to these topics is very welcome. Arman (Talk) 03:37, 7 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

NYC meetup

edit

Hi Dwaipayan. Sorry you couldn't make it! The manuscript you mentioned (actually in Yiddish, a Germanic-derived language which is written in Hebrew characters), we hope to get digitized by the Open Content Alliance. Another project that is progressing is a free-content photography contest with the Brooklyn Museum (I had the opportunity to talk to one of their technology representatives at the November meetup). Also, we are making finally progress toward a local meta:Wikimedia New York City, working with the WMF bureaucracy.

The meeting room at Columbia University worked out very well, and we'll probably make it our permanent place for discussions (though we'll still have field outings, like we did to the American Museum of Natural History this time). I wish you a good new year! The next meetup (not planned yet) will probably be on a Sunday in the middle of March.--Pharos (talk) 00:49, 15 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Oh no! I missed your visit. I just got back yesterday early morning ... and was under the impression you'd be coming here at the end of this month. Too bad your visit was earlier :(. I was expecting to meet yet another Wikipedian in person ... :((

So, who did you stay with? How did you like Carle / Provena? The weather at this month is awful here ... hope you didn't get any snows. Do you have any chance of a return visit? Jaria and I'd be very happy to host you .... --Ragib (talk) 16:13, 17 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Too bad ... now I'd have to eat the "Ilish" myself :( !!!!
I hope you'd get hired by UofI/Carle/Provena here ... but I understand NY is a far better place than this "Bhutta khet". Wish you all the best. --Ragib (talk) 18:18, 21 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Tipu Sultan Mosque

Apart from the mosque in Esplanade, there is another Tipu Sultan Mosque at the junction of Deshapran Sasmal Road and Prince Anwar Shah Road in Tollygunj. I have not come across any referenced material about it. Once I get something I will add it to that page. Where did you go? Regards. - P.K.Niyogi (talk) 19:00, 17 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Good to know of your visit. So, will you continue to be in Kolkata or go out again? Regards. - P.K.Niyogi (talk) 14:20, 22 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
