Wikipedia_talk:Censorship edit

A watered-down version of the proposed policy against censorship is now open for voting. Will you kindly review the policy and make your opinions known? Thank you very much. Loom91 13:14, 5 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Rollback edit

First, please excuse use of the rollback feature, I should not have used it.

I have reverted a couple of edits you made [1]. I think the edits are useful to maintain perspective regarding the matter. I did some research and found that the situation at other colleges is not different, but there is inordinate attention to the military academies. Fred Bauder 13:57, 31 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Battle of Deir Yassin edit

I read your discussion topic in Qana shelling. I think you would be interested to know that there is voting going on to change the name in Deir Yassin to Deir Yassin Massacre. I believe you will be interested in such an outcome.

AfD edit

Ad hominem attacks have no place on AfDs. In AfDs, we discuss the merits of the article, not the personal philosophies of the nominators. Taking me to task for classifying myself as an inclusionist, and lecturing your view that it is against Wiki policy, was inappropriate. PT (s-s-s-s) 22:37, 20 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

I do appreciate that you are trying to act in good faith in your discussions. However, what my userbox states or does not state is not relevant to AfDs, and that's all I am trying to assert. Nothing personal against you in the least. PT (s-s-s-s) 22:50, 20 July 2006 (UTC)Reply
I only remove comments if I deem them to be personal attacks. PT (s-s-s-s) 22:58, 20 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Laci Peterson edit

Greetings!

I appreciate you letting me know of your plans to work on the Laci Peterson article. As you've noted, the majority of the introduction was provided by me, and it's good to know that you would take other's work into consideration (something many people don't do). I ask you to proceed with your plans, and feel free to make changes as you see fit. I've stopped using Wikipedia, and for that reason, can't really monitor articles I've worked on at one point or another. Good luck with everything, and good luck to being part of the next generation of Wikipedia editors. Stiles 17:32, 31 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hi edit

I've left a response on the article talk page, so I hope we can avoid more reversions in the future. Hope you didn't take it personally. John Smith's 01:31, 4 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Ok, I can see that there is worth in the article. I personally would not want such biased articles on either side on there, but I don't want to push the issue any further. John Smith's 10:46, 28 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Replaceable fair use Image:JimGoad.jpg edit

Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:JimGoad.jpg. I noticed the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that fair use images which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 7 days after this notification, per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. — Carl (CBM · talk) 13:50, 30 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
