Candide Thovex sources

Hi there. I noticed that you have added YouTube links, as sources: in this edit, this edit and this edit. Unfortunately, for a number of reasons, YouTube videos are not considered to be good WP:RS. You've now added text with two more YouTube links are sources. Could you at least consider using something else that won't have to be deleted as being not reliable? I have tried to avoid removing all the text that's supported only by YouTube videos, as you are obviously trying hard to improve the article, and you appear to be a new editor, but such action would be wholly in line with source policy. I am new to Wikipedia. I have been asked by Candide Thovex's management team to add historical information to his entry. I have included YouTube videos that illustrate historic moments from his career. In most cases they come from his official YouTube channel, his main sponsor (Quiksilver), or from the channels of the events which are referenced. So, in these cases they are about as valid a source as possible and the only sources available on the Internet. If you have any suggestions as to where I may find more valid sources, please let me know.

Hi Dave. Thanks for your message. We have only your word for that. You may need to provide evidence that you have not breached the copyright of the material posted at YouTube, even if it has been posted by "his main sponsor". But even if you do, links to YouTube videos are still not liked at Wikipedia and may be removed at any time. Since you claim to be acting on behalf of "Thovex's management team", you will also need to read WP:Conflict of interest, as you may not be impartial. A tag might also need to be added to the article talk page to explain your position to other editors. I'll copy this exchange to you Talk Page, for the benefit of other editors. Thanks. Thanks for the info Martinevans123. I will remain as impartial as possible. Please feel free to let me know if there is any information I post which is not as neutral as it could be. I understand your point about YouTube videos, but in many cases they are the only historical reference available, especially in the world of action sports where a videographer may be the only witness to a certain event, and his footage the only proof that the feat actually happened. However, when possible I will try to cite articles from websites (which more often than not will contain little more than a written explanation of the action in the embeded video) as source material rather than just linking to the YouTube video. In the case of videos from Candide's official YouTube channel, how do I prove that the material real and copyrighted by Candide Thovex or a production company that he owns or in which he is a partner?

No worries. I'm not sure what hoops one has to jump through to prove no copyright violation with videos. I am no expert. But I suspect the response is likely to be "don't use YouTube videos". As regards being neutral, statements such as "... that got the entire ski world talking" are likely to be very difficult to support, unless you are quoting from a WP:RS.
