Ohio State Highways WikiProject

Hello, and thanks for your contributions to the route pages for Ohio. You should know that we're in the process of making some changes to the naming conventions for Ohio state route pages. Your article, State Route 161 (Ohio), is actually titled by what is most likely going to be determined as the "redirect" name. Currently, all or nearly all articles are titled "Ohio State Highway X," but this will most likely be changing soon as well (from "highway" to "route"). You're participation and creation of any new articles for Ohio state routes is strongly encouraged, but for the time being, the naming should be "Ohio State Highway X" until we get the new convention ironed out. Keeping with the currently-used naming convention will help the editors be able to make any standardized moves once the final naming convention is decided upon (no need to change what you've done). I welcome you to monitor our progress on the project at WP:OHSH, where you may also wish to sign up as a member if you'd like. I'd be happy to answer any questions you may have. I've switched the page over, since the State Route XXX (Ohio) convention is not currently in use, and to make it easier to change all the pages over to Route, if or when that change occurs. Thanks for letting me know about that! --DatraxMada 14:16, 6 September 2006 (UTC)

An important letter

Dear roads editor,

You may have noticed some changes at WP:USRD lately. Some of them, like the cleanup templates and the stub templates, have been astounding and great. Unfortunately, others have been disturbing.

This has become evidenced by the departure of a few prominent editors at USRD, a few RFC's, and much fighting among USRD editors.

After the second RFC, many of us found the opportunity to take a step away from Wikipedia for a while--as a self-imposed wikibreak, or possibly on vacation.

The result of such introspection was that many of us were placing ourselves in a "walled garden" and on a self-imposed pedestal of authority over the roads department. Also, we were being hostile to a few users who were not agreeing with us.

In fact, IRC has been the main incarnation of this "walled garden." Decisions have been made there to conduct grudges and prejudices against a few valued USRD users with poor justification.

For this, we have come to apologize. We have come to ask your forgiveness.

In addition to this, we hope to work as one USRD team from now on and to encourage cooperation instead of the promotion of interests.

All users are welcome to collaborate on IRC, the newsletter, or anywhere else at USRD.

In the future, please feel free to approach us about any issues you may have.

USRD Inactivity check and news report

An invitation to join WikiProject Ohio

Hi, you are listed under Category:Wikipedians in Ohio or one of its subcategories. WikiProject Ohio has been slowing down and we're looking for active Ohioans to turn that around! But first, let us introduce ourselves; we're a group of editors working to improve Wikipedia's coverage of topics related to Ohio and we're sure there's somewhere you'll fit in just fine. The project's departments include article quality assessment: We have over 5,000 articles to assess for class alone, newsletter writing: This has been delayed by a few months, and new page patrolling: Which has also been slowing down. We also have a newly formed taskforce on our over 1,000 townships at WP:OHTWP.

Proposed deletion of A1101 road

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article A1101 road, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

Unreferenced for nearly three years, fails WP:V

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached.
