Vandalism reversion

Note: this is in response to a question at User talk:Flyguy649#Help?.
The vandalism reversion looks fine. Good job! As for warning the vandal, using your own is ok, but there are a series of templates you can (and probably should) use. They put in standardized warnings. They are available at WP:UTM. As you will see, there are general vandalism warnings and more specific ones. Please remember to substitute the warnings. That is, if you are going to give a level two warning for page blanking, rather than leaving {{uw-delete2}}, you must put {{subst:uw-delete2}}. Also please don't forget to sign your warnings with four tildes (~~~~).

The warnings come in levels 1 through 4. Level 1 assumes good faith, level 2 does not assume good faith, level 3 is for obvious vandalism, and level 4 is a final warning. I tend to start with level two if I believe the vandalism was intentional, and level 1 if I think it was accidental. In serious cases I will start with level 3. Then you would use progressively higher levels of warnings until you reach level 4. If a user continues to vandalise after a level 4 warning is given, you can report the user at Administrator intervention against vandalism. Oh, if it's been a while since the most recent warning (like days or weeks), I tend to go back to a lower level of warning.

The one important thing (to me) is that you do warn users. This includes IP vandals (which are probably the most frequent vandals here; IPs also do good work, though). It helps later editors know what type of warning to give. Umm, I know that's a lot of info, but hopefully this will help you. Good luck, and drop me a note if you have any other questions.
