Greetings from a sockpuppet edit

I saw your post at:

I don't know you or just what you've gotten up to; I've only seen a bit of the edges of this over the last few weeks. You say you want to shift to a new track. I'm a sockpuppet; I was en:blocked for eight months. So, I'm proof that one can return.

You were pointed at Wikipedia:Standard offer and that's just an essay. It's a good one but one thing it needs to push more is work on other projects. As I see it, just biding one's time for six months and asking nicely is not sufficient.

I recommend the work on non-en:wp route. I see your account is not SUL-unified. You need to do this, and it will entail requesting a brief unblock to perform the unification (it will not allow any editing and would be for on the order of ten supervised minutes). This seems to be your main account and by unifying it and then using it elsewhere in a productive manner, you can work on the trust issues.

You should do a few things; list your accounts and the IPs you've used. Be honest. Was that you I reversed on DF's page, today? Do I know you as some other account or sock farm? You've done good work? Give examples. You should know that other eyes will be on this page, both because of your history, and mine.

I'm not offering anything, at this point. You'll have to convince me that I should bother and that I should trust you. If you make a reasonable response here, I'll look further into your history and may offer to point you at the road back.

Sincerely, Street-Legal Sockpuppet Jack Merridew  04:17, 9 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free image File:HOPKINS.JPG edit

Thanks for uploading File:HOPKINS.JPG. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. SchuminWeb (Talk) 05:01, 30 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

File permission problem with File:RachelRice.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:RachelRice.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stifle (talk) 21:14, 18 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for File:DailyStar.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:DailyStar.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Non-free rationale for File:TheApprenticeYoureFired.JPG edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:TheApprenticeYoureFired.JPG. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. Proposed deletion of File:Fired apprentice.png edit

The file File:Fired apprentice.png has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

orphaned file, no foreseeable encyclopedic use

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Proposed deletion of Comic Relief Does The Apprentice edit
