seclusion of girls at puberty

edit

This article was proposed for deletion as representing an original essay, but as reviewing administrator, I think that although it needs greater diversity of opinion. especially modern opinion, it is not hopeless. Alternatively, turn into an article of Frazier's theory & its modern criticisms,--thetheory is notable enough for an article of its own, whereas the Golen Bough deals with a great many other subjects also. see what you can do with it. Start by reading our guide to writing Wikipedia articles. DGG ( talk ) 01:26, 30 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

A Comment

edit

Hi, DGG thank you for your comments and appreciating the fact that it is a worthy topic. At the outset itself,I tried to make it an impartial note on this topic. As there are other wikipedia docs on The Golden Bough and Sir Frazer I didn't try to work on Frazer's overall view on Magic and Religion. To make it less essay like (the likeness, if any, to an essay was unintentional),and to add wiki references, I re-edited the text. With regard to merging this with 'puberty'; I believe the article on puberty, a physiological account on puberty, should be the last place for the current article on puberty rites. Given the number of pages Frazer, leaving others aside, spent on this alone, I think the topic is important enough to have its own encyclopedic entry. Thanks again and hope to hear from you soon.
