Usage - Waziristan
- Wikipedia policy is to reflect English usage in names.
- Perhaps equally important is that "agency" when attached to these names refers to "government". The articles are not just about the governments of North Waziristan and South Waziristan, they are about the economies, the history, the geography, etc., as well as the governments. It is not surprising that the "official web site", which is run by the government, uses the term "North Waziristan Agency".
- The principle of KISS (simplicity is best) suggests that "Agency" is not needed in these titles.
- If you really believe that these need to be moved, I suggest the formal discussions under Wikipedia:Requested moves. --Bejnar (talk) 17:26, 13 April 2010 (UTC)

Northern Pakistan Language Map
I created this map after extensively studying the languages and geography of Northern Pakistan. By Northern Pakistan I mean the northernmost geographical regions of Pakistan i.e. The Northern regions of the Malakand Division, Hazara Division and Gilgit-Baltistan. More specifically I have only included the non-Pashto and non-Hindko speaking regions of Malakand and Hazara. This map shows the linguistic diversity of a region known to the colonial British Ethnologists and linguists as Dardistan and is the only map of its type available on the internet, not to mention the most geographically accurate. To delete it would be a great disservice to the academic study of the Dardic (and other minority) languages of Northern Pakistan. Need help, municipalities Venezuela
es:WP does it wrong, es:Municipio Piar (Monagas) and the Bolivar one is es:Municipio Piar. To prevent this I re-created Piar Municipality as dab and created a stub for Piar Municipality, Monagas. Removal of Infobox country from secessionist movements articles
I really admire your conviction to prove your point about the use of Infobox Country; to the extent that you went and removed the infobox on all pages that had it. However, you have taken this task without consensus of the Wikipedia team. I would recommend you do that. Maybe you can create a template for secessionist movements; as you suggested one should be made.
Also; the talk page is mine and I wished to clear it up. Any efforts to obstruct that are vandalism; and shall be reported to an admin.

I must point out that you are mistaken in what you said on the IP's talk page: WP:UP#CMT says: Removal of comments, notices, and warnings Policy does not prohibit users, whether registered or anonymous users, from removing comments from their own talk pages, although archiving is preferred. The removal of material from a user page is normally taken to mean that the user has read and is aware of its contents. There is no need to keep them on display and usually users should not be forced to do so. It is often best to simply let the matter rest if the issues stop. If they do not, or they recur, then any record of past warnings and discussions can be found in the page history if ever needed, and these diffs are just as good evidence of previous matters if needed.
A number of important matters may not be removed by the user – they are part of the wider community's processes or exist to prevent gaming of the system:
- Declined unblock requests, ban and confirmed sockpuppetry related notices (while any sanctions are still in effect)
- Miscellany for deletion tags (while the discussion is in progress)
- Speedy deletion tags and requests for uninvolved administrator help (the patrolling administrator will quickly determine if these are valid or not; use {{hangon}} to object and post a comment, do not just remove the tag).
- For IP editors, templates in Category:Shared IP header templates and notes left to indicate other users may share the same IP address.
- {{Noindex}} added to user pages and subpages under this guideline (except with agreement or by consensus). Note this can safely be removed from talk pages and subpages where it has no effect.
Note that restoring talk page notices is not a listed exception to the three-revert rule.

- I'm not particularly bothered by people blanking talkpages but this particular IP made four questionable edits in less than two days (including a retributive act on my alternate account), and each received a user warning. The fourth warning was only a level-1 warning because the IP blanked the talkpage and the editor assumed this was a one-off event. It helps other editors to be able to see if a talkpage has had several warnings in a short time, because then a more appropriate warning can be left. I know that diffs can be used as evidence but editors don't always have the time to look through the talk history to see if others have been left recently.
- As you point out above, the IP's actions in blanking are also a case of removing "notes left to indicate other users may share the same IP address".
- Anyway the IP is annoyed with me because I disagree with her/his POV (that a country that doesn't exist, should be treated as if it does exist) and I am no shrinking violet when it comes to sticking by firm rules like NPOV. Green Giant (talk) 00:41, 13 August 2010 (UTC)

- The problem was with what you added to the Lahore article. The first sentence was:

- What you needed to provide was a verifiable source which says this is true. Otherwise we have to assume it is your personal opinion and/or original research.
- The second sentence was:
| “ | Lahore is very beautiful city, but apart form all of its issues it has become one of the Dangerous cities is the world due to Suiside Bombing Attacks by Lashkar e Jhangvi and some other millitans orginazations supported by Forigner Aggencies | ” |
- The same applies again but with extra requirements - there are essentially three statements in that sentence; the opinion that Lahore is "very beautiful"; the opinion that it is a "dangerous city" due to suicide bombings; the opinion that the militant groups are supported by "foreign agencies". Each of those statements needs a verifiable source. I hope that clears that up. Beyond that is of course the matter of spelling and grammar but that is something easily fixed. Template:Symbols of Pakistan
Hello Green Giant! I was adding/removing categories from different Pakistan-related templates when came across this template and noticed that through the history tool, that you have been watching over the template. Over an year ago, you reverted edits by an anonymous user (unregistered IP) by claiming that those were FAKE symbols. But website of Ministry of Culture of Pakistan clearly state these symbols. Hence, they are not fake (at least not anymore). I request either you put these symbols in the template by yourself or let me do it. Thanks! - At the time, there was only one definite listing of these symbols, at the Information Ministry website (infopak.gov.pk) and that still does not list several of these things. There was a particular IP (92.0.49.21) which went on a campaign of inventing all sorts of symbols like territorial animals and birds without a single source and it took a lot of effort to track down and remove the IP's original research. I have a feeling that the IP has some connections to the Ministry of Culture and has proposed this list to them after I repeatedly pointed out the need for sources. The Pakistani government has caused us some problems by liberally copying Wikipedia content and then backdating copyright claims - see for instance this case with Sindh where an official website claimed copyright for material that was apparently written on Wikipedia first. I feel the Culture Ministry website is a dubious source although I would be happy to include any symbol that is corroborated by at least one other government website like infopak.gov.pk. - A very valid point here. So far as we know, it is pretty much clear to every Pakistan resident that which is our national language, dress, poet, game, animal and bird. You are right, we do need proper sources before making any of these claims. But then again, it is only a feeling that unregistered IP had some connections with the Ministry of Culture. It has to be noted that Ministry of Culture has the authority over the documentation cultural heritage of Pakistan. I would look for another reliable website and then share my findings with you. You are certainly right about the correct titles of articles on organizations, and I very much appreciate your work on them. However, the easiest and clearest way of asking for it now is with the template designed for the purpose: {{db-move}} which has the syntax {{db-move|1=PAGE TO BE MOVED HERE|2=REASON FOR MOVE}} (normally, "correct title per MOS" is sufficient as reason), Then we deleting admins can accomplish the move, deletion, and creation of the new redirect simultaneously in a single step. Just a quick tip, you can nominate multiple related pages in the same MFD if the deletion reason is the same. See Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/User:UC'tCM!/AC Characters for an example. Nabi vs Rasul
i recently changed a the word Nabi to Rasul, which has a more specific meaning, now you said in your reversion that we dont need titles like this, also why did you not remove the title of Nabi previously. Also if someone is a professor you call them professor so if someone is a nabi or a rasul you call them by that title also. As far as I know the word Nabi means prophet which is not a honourific title but rather a religious title and Rasul means messenger. They are more descriptions of a person in the views of the people. Fact he is considered a prophet in the eyes of muslims so there is no clash with the rules. I did not say PBUH or any of the stated unsanctioned discriptions. Is he or is he not described as a Rasul and a Nabi? Kochi
Hi, recently some new editors started editing the Kochi article. Their aim is to glorify the city page. They are hardcore advocates of Kochi and have specific aim to hype every thing about the city. They might be connected to the real estate lobbys in the city. And that is why they are adding false statements like Kochi was referred by MK Gandhi as "Epitome of adventure".
