For those of you watching my page ;) edit

I will be gone from Friday morning early until very late Monday evening. Hubby bought us a cruise over to the Bahamas where we will stay at a nice hotel, do some gambling, fishing and maybe some horse back riding. With having the car accident and being sore, the horses may have to wait for another time, but I really want to ride so who knows! I'm not getting doctors clearing for this because I probably would be told its best not to rough up my gut but heck; I have to take some chances for some fun that I like. Thanks to all of you for being so patient and helpful to me. You are all very good editors even with your differences on how things should be going. I have a lot of respect for all of you. --Crohnie 12:54, 23 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

That sounds so nice! I hope you'll have a fantastic time. (I see I missed the car accident. Good to hear you survived relatively intact.) AvB ÷ talk 13:08, 23 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
You didn't miss the car accident, I had mentioned it to two people on their talk page because of conversations I was having. I posted today about it so people would know because I am taking pain meds to help off set the pain from getting hit in the back end of the car and then running into another car in front of us from the first impact. My son was driving me home from work when an older lady ran a stop sign and hit us right past the back door (thank goodness the gas tank was on the other side.). No one got really hurt but with being bounced side to side then front to back, muscles are sore. My son has ruptured disks in his back from his time in the army and so tomorrow we are both talking to our pain management dr to see if we can get some added help through this. My body is pretty fragile for something like this kind of jerking around. With going on vacation, I don't want to be in pain from all of this. But we were lucky not to get seriously hurt from contact with two different vehicles. --Crohnie 13:36, 23 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
Arrrghhh that's actually worse than I thought. It's a good thing we're equipped with a nice auto-repair system. Take good care of yourselves...
I've tried to answer your Barrett question (see my talk page). I'm not sure I've explained something there or simply downloaded some unconnected thoughts from brain to talk page... ~:-) AvB ÷ talk 14:32, 23 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thanks, I'll take a look and comment. We are both going to work today and it should be interesting being in my car for over an hour one way for the drive. I have a Kia and the seats are unforgiving for long rides. Well got to go now, talk again soon, thanks for caring. --Crohnie 15:00, 23 April 2007 (UTC) Reply

Mediation edit

Yes, I guess it's our mediator's turn. AvB ÷ talk 00:17, 25 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Cat baths edit

(And now for something completely different) Seeing that you are owned by a cat, have you seen any of the online videos of cats that enjoy being bathed? --Ronz 17:38, 25 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

No but to be honest I haven't looked. If you would like me to check around, send me a reminder around Weds next week. I am packing for a vacation in the Bahamas. What's the article, is there an article? I know my cat doesn't like to be bathed but he doesn't mind getting wet, like right now he was on the patio and the sprinklers are on. --Crohnie 17:41, 25 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
Oh by the way I love the way you say my cat, Buddy, owns me. Boy do you have that right. :) I put a link on your talk page. I looked at more, though there are many, but that's the best one that I saw. --Crohnie 19:01, 25 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

This has nothing to do with articles, I just saw the info on your user page and thought you might enjoy the videos if you hadn't seen them already: [1] [2] --Ronz 19:28, 25 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thanks, no I haven't seen them. It reminds me of when we had a hurricane coming this way. I filled the tub with water so the toilet can be used. Buddy jumped in the full tub, it was hysterical. Thanks again, I don't go to You tube unless it's sent to me. --Crohnie 19:46, 25 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

your note edit

Yeesh, sorry to hear about your accident, I hope you're ok. Are you sure it's OK to go horseback riding? You wouldn't want to injure yourself more. Anyway, no hurry on the pictures, take your time. Thanks for the compliment on the article, are you talking about traumatic aortic rupture? Heh, I'm a morbid medical geek. Sorry to hear about the mediation, don't be afraid to ask for whatever clarification or help you need. If you object to the email format, you should say so on the talk page you directed me to. If you want me to, I can for you. I'm still your mentor and will be as long as we both want me to, and I'll help however I can (though frankly, I've never been in a mediation and don't know much about it). What specifically is confusing about it, just keeping all the emails together? That does seem like a more confusing format than a single page. Anyway, take care of yourself, don't let wp stress you out too much! Peace, delldot talk 19:57, 25 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Yes I'm fine, just muscle soreness which might happen horse back riding anyways. With the mediation, I'll see how it works, if I have a problem with it I'll get back to you to help me out. I'm mellow, WP can't stress me out. When I get frustrated I just leave for awhile. Thanks, I'll talk to you soon. --Crohnie 20:10, 25 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for comment edit

Crohnie, Thank you for your comment. I guess technically I didn't have any place to make a comment in that debate since I wasn't a moderator, but sumfin just came over me. lol Good luck! Fcsuper 01:06, 26 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Leaving today edit

I just want to remind everyone I am leaving for the Bahamas today and will be back on Monday real late. I hope I can still be involoved in the mediation when I return. Please email me or whatever is used to keep me up to date on the progress. I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend too. Avb, enjoy yourself too in Greece. --Crohnie 09:02, 27 April 2007 (UTC) Reply

The test thing edit

I looked at your contribs after the event and I think you handled it fine. You put a civil note on the talk page explaining your distress at being warned, which I think was reasonable. You might also have considered leaving them a polite note on their talk page explaining that it wasn't vandalism and why you thought your action was in line with policy and very politely asking them to remove the warning. Additionally, that might benefit everyone by clarifying the situation, I know I have left test messages on people's pages in error (in fact, if you look at the message on my talk page above yours, I had used the rollback on a non-vandal removal of content in the course of vandal patrol! In that case I caught it and reverted myself, but I could easily have missed it so it was good that the person contacted me and gave me a chance to apologize). But if you thought the person was overly aggressive and might respond poorly it would be completely understandable not to want to contact them. Yes, the person's an admin, but of course that doesn't mean they're infallible or that they always do the right thing. And admins don't have more power here than anyone else, so their opinion about the content of an article is no more valid than anyone else's. It looks like this person is in an edit war, judging from the last few comments on their talk page, so they may not be an admin for long. Anyway, for better or worse, my strategy is usually to ignore stuff, so I think your approach of no longer worrying about it is a good one. Peace, delldot talk 15:08, 4 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Yeah, I think I would have made the same call about contacting him as you did. Anyway, good job on handling a potentially ugly situation with a level head! Peace, delldot talk 16:27, 4 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
Thanks, it means a lot to me hearing this from you! --Crohnie 16:34, 4 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Sorry about the conflict on my talk page edit

I'm certainly not setting the best example. I put the civility reminder on my talk for all of us. It wasn't directed at anyone specific. --Ronz 01:57, 7 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Don't worry, I didn't take it personally and we an all can use a good reminder. I scratch out what Levine found offensive that I wrote. Don't worry about it, I like reminders! --Crohnie 09:10, 7 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

For those of you watching my page ;) edit

Is there any article safe to edit that isn't in a war of some kind? I thought I found one but nope, it's warring too. I just want a non controversial easy article that I can learn to edit properly. I know how to do research but this has gotten ridiculous with some of the articles that should be easy and have their editing problems. Thanks,--Crohnie 13:55, 7 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Articles related to health, politics, or legal issues are often out-of-control. Wikipedia:Community Portal has a list of ways to help out. Avoid the issues that are obviously conflict-related and you should find lots of interesting articles to work on. --Ronz 15:32, 7 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
Thanks Ronz, you are always so helpful to me. I will probably be off line here for a few days because I am really having trouble with my Crohn's. This always teaches me that cheating on my diet is not worth the after affects. I will be ok but I am a bit out of it and easily antagonised when I am like this so it's best to take the break. I saw you on the talk page of impeach George Bush, way to go. You know policy better than anyone I know of so I hope you can help this article. If I can help just let me know either here on my talk or feel free to email me, it is activated. --Crohnie 21:55, 7 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for the kind words. I'm just trying to pass along info that I wish I had when I started editing here. --Ronz 15:57, 8 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
I understand, I have been very fortunate to have editors like you and some others willing to help me along the way you have. You have a good heart. --Crohnie 23:42, 8 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Wikipedia community article edit

The problem is that you, likely quite unknowingly, walked right into the middle of an ongoing dispute between two editors that has been spanning several articles and has been going on for a while now. I saw you ask on someone else's talkpage if there are any articles where there is not edit warring. Yes, there are some lightly trafficed articles where there is not edit warring but I've often been surprised what people will edit war over here. All it takes is two motivated indivuduals with opposing viewpoints and no intention of backing down and you've got yourself an edit war. If this stresses you out, then the best solution is probably to disengage from the article talkpage. Conflict happens here and not everyone is polite about it.--Isotope23 17:25, 10 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

I'm sorry but this still does not excuse Mr. Scott from him being uncivil to me and accusing me of being a sock puppet, meat puppet or a single purpose account. Why are administrators allowing this behavior? I thought this kind of behavior is frowned on and stopped. I don't see anyone stopping him from being so rude. --Crohnie 00:29, 11 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
There are currently no easy and effective ways for dealing with this type of incivility in Wikipedia. You can try WP:WQA, but don't expect a response. WP:RFC/USER is another avenue that I've never seen used, but from what I understand is for repeated and more serious issues. WP:ANI is for very serious issues, yet occassionally lets requests through without response. As I keep saying, it's not all wikilove, unfortunately. --Ronz 01:02, 11 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
Thanks Ronz, I've decided to stay away from him and not to respond to him and/or his behavior. He apparently has had problems in the past with this nasty behavior so let him have his 'fun'. I just don't like to be accused of not thinking for myself. Have a good night, and thanks as always,--Crohnie 01:06, 11 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
I never said it "excused" his behavior... if you check his talk page I and Michaelas10 (talk · contribs) both warned him about this.--Isotope23 13:08, 11 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
I have striked out my own uncivil behavior. Please except my apologies. --Crohnie 22:39, 11 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hi edit

Hi Crohnie! Good to read your trip was a success (apart from the !$#%@ dead battery). Greece was heaven. I went with my wife, two daughters, a niece, left our two sons at home to take care of the business and the five new kittens. We stayed in the isle of Kos. Not much to tell actually; great weather, great apartment & resort, great hospitality, nice rental car, visited restaurants and people we knew from previous years, found some new restaurants and people, shopped a bit, went to see the tree of Hippocrates (or so they say) and some other sights. Read two books in the shade, 800 pages. Ate too much, drank too much, gained some weight. Did not want to leave. AvB ÷ talk 20:16, 13 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Good afternoon (GMT time); I have accepted a Mediation Cabal case - requested by Levine2112 - to which you are listed as a party. Mediation has commenced at the case talkpage, where you are invited to participate.

If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact me via email, IRC or my talk page; I will try to answer all your questions as fully as possible in so far as it does not compromise my neutrality.

Kind regards,

Crohn's Disease edit

Yeah, I have to admit it does sound like a doctor wrote it, in a lot of sections - and for good reasons. (Not just because one DID write a lot of it.) I'm a sufferer, myself. (In my case, since 2002.) As far as medical background, all I have is past training as an EMT and moderate researching into this... No need to stay away, just be prepared to source things! I just added one reference to a statement that I could easily source, if that helps. The CCFA site is a usable source (although primary ones would be better) to use for the <ref> tags you'll want to add - just use {{cite web}} (documentation at Template:Cite web for stuff you pull from there. We're all trying to make this article and others better/more informative. Don't feel bad for trying, because what you start, you and others can improve! — CJewell (talk to me) 15:17, 22 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
