September 2021 edit

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give a page a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into DrDisRespect. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases for registered users, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. Oh, I didn't think about the edit histories. Sorry about that. CosmicJacuzzi (talk) 13:13, 23 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

Editing Assistance edit

Hello Cosmic! I saw your message and Teahouse and, as well as telling you there, am telling you here as well that I would be glad to help you out in building Wikipedia's content. Just let me know on my talk page. ― Blaze The WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#0001 14:43, 23 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

I see you're trying to request a move for a page. A page move like the one you're requesting would be better if discussed on the talk page of the article you would like to be moved. ― Blaze The WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#0001 14:56, 23 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
Yeah, I still have a request open on the talk page. I wasn't sure where to post the request. Thanks for the suggestion. :) CosmicJacuzzi (talk) 14:58, 23 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
No problem! Like I said, I'd be glad to assist you with anything you need help with. Just leave a note on my talk page! ― Blaze The WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#0001 15:00, 23 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
Cool, thanks man. :) CosmicJacuzzi (talk) 15:02, 23 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
Again, no problem! I enjoy helping out new users because of how confusing Wikipedia can be. Something important you should remember with anti-vandalism is WP:DENY which basically says, don't feed the trolls. ― Blaze The WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#0001 15:03, 23 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
Yup, just revert and move on. 👌 I'll be back in a little while. CosmicJacuzzi (talk) 15:06, 23 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
That is admittedly something I struggle with myself. However usually I simply jsut revert, welcome/warn, and move on. ― Blaze The WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#0001 15:07, 23 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

Teahouse edit

If you are relatively new to Wikipedia, please do not attempt to answer questions at Teahouse. 31.209.146.55 (talk) 18:02, 23 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

That comment seemed a bit...bitey. I'm not entirely unfamiliar with Wikipedia. I've been on the internet a long time, and so has Wikipedia. CosmicJacuzzi (talk) 18:04, 23 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
I do agree that this could've been worded a bit differently. Generally it's a good idea for new users to gain a bit more experience before answering questions on Teahouse as we want to try and give the most accurate answers possibly because Teahouse is where (Mostly) new users go to ask questions. If we let anyone answer questions then new users might receive some bad advice that could lead them to getting blocked. Take a look at my talk page archive to see what happens when a less experienced user answers questions (usually incorrectly). ― Blaze The WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#0001 18:16, 23 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
Well, as I said I'm not entirely unfamiliar to Wikipedia. It's been around for a very long time, so I shouldn't have to be quieted when trying to give answers and suggestions just because my account is new. I've more than been able to demonstrate this, as well. CosmicJacuzzi (talk) 18:20, 23 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
I understand that, however I don't actually know how much experience you have. If you want to answer questions at Teahouse I'd suggest at least being generally familiar with WIkipedia's policies (if you already are then maybe ask another host if the think it's alright for you to be answering questions). ― Blaze The WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#0001 18:27, 23 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

Other accounts edit

What other accounts have you used?--Bbb23 (talk) 19:08, 23 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

@Bbb23: They stated that they edited as an IP previously and only recently created an account. Not sure if that's the entirety of it or not. ― Blaze The WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#0001 19:09, 23 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
First, I don't see where they said they'd edited as an IP, certainly not on this page, and, second, even if true, I don't believe that's all they've done.--Bbb23 (talk) 19:12, 23 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
I think they may have said that on Teahouse. And that would make sense if they think they've edited long enough to have enough knowledge to answer questions on Teahouse. ― Blaze The WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#0001 19:16, 23 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
Not everything makes sense in this world. BTW, your signature is awful, mainly the spacing of it, although the colors aren't great either.--Bbb23 (talk) 19:24, 23 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
Might I ask what's wrong about the spacing? Also I was not the one who made it. Levi_OP was and he gave me the idea to use a color from my Discord pfp as part of my signatureBlaze The WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#0001 19:27, 23 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
There's a lot of space between the #0001 and the date/time stamp, so, for example, on one of your comments here, because your sig is so long, it caused a line break and the part on the next line was to the left of the comment's indent, making it look really weird. At least that's the way it is on my screen.--Bbb23 (talk) 19:37, 23 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
Ah I see. I'd fix that except I have no clue what part of my sig code is causing it to look like that. ― Blaze The WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#0001 19:42, 23 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
Don't look at me (smiling). I don't use customized sigs. You could ask at the Help desk, or maybe you could ask CosmicJacuzzi at the Teahouse. :p --Bbb23 (talk) 20:26, 23 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
