One occasionally comes across editors who have thousands of good edits, but because they may not get around as much as others, their contributions and hard work often go unnoticed. No, I disagree. BBC has it wrong. Ordinary fire is not hot enough to be a plasma. Here is a better explanation: [1]. Here's another: [2]. Examples of plasma on earth are lightning, and welding arcs. Greetings again: after my first response to the anon above, I posted the question to the Reference Desk. It looks like it is more complicated than a simple yes/no answer (like many things in life). The plasma (physics) article also has some information: fire is a special case of a very low temperature, partial plasma, but everyday "flame" does not fit the typical definition of a "plasma". Why was this article Deleted Please restore this Article..I was the one who created this Article. The names of People mentioned in this Article show the History of the Hindu caste!!!and forms a supporting article for the Kapu_caste Article... This caste is almost 2000 years old.. Some of the personalities mentioned in the Page belong to the 4th Century A.D. and are also eminent Poets and Linguists who composed great Literature works to build up the Indian Langauge Telugu spoken by 15 milliion Indians and is second most widely spoken language in the country..

Most of them were Politicians who broght Freedom to India and also were crucial in forming the state of Andhra Pradesh... Most of them might not be known internationally but are very well known Nationally and Regionally within India.

I saw your nomination for deletion of this article in Deletion Log. How do i get it restored ??? There are other similar pages from other communities but only this has been tagged for deletion... and has been deleted i can point them out...

I dont know how old the Hawian word Kapu is but the Hindu Caste Kapu is dated back to 2000+ years... So i guess there should be no confusion about that.

Commercial Links

You have removed a link to Nelsons Boats from the Copeland Islands page. However, Nelsons Boats runs the only licensed passenger boat service to the islands. The only other way of getting for the public there is by private boat. This means you hgave a page describing the islands, the wildlife etc but no indication of how anyone can travel there or gain access.

I understand the care required regarding commercial links but any links to any form of commercial transport would be banned as the only type it is sensible to mention are those that are licensed and therefore commercial.

I added more info for the manga versions of the Sailor Moon, adding ISBN numbers for the artbooks, which should help with referencing. Hey, you stinkin' n00b!

Congratulations on surviving RfA! I'm too nervous to even go for it, though I'd like the tools. Anyway, can I make you work for a minute? ;) I'm really asking for more of a third opinion than anything else, but given that it involves WP:NPA, I'd rather an admin make the call. If you have a few moments, please take a look at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Jill Pike (second nomination), which I put up for nomination. The subject is nn, imho, and the article is horrid fancruft, basically two lines from an old press release followed by a bunch of random WP:NPOV-violating salivations put in by random male fans, plus a Maxim-esque cleavage-enhancing promo photo of her, which User:Carnildo just nuked separately by happenstance (turns out someone uploaded it with a {{logo}} tag, which it obviously wasn't). Anyway, that's the backstory; look at the AfD itself, and you'll see where one editor voted "keep" with the comment that "Disagreeing with the political position of a radio show is not grounds for deletion and protection from recreation of an article." Since nobody anywhere in the AfD had said anything about politics up to that point, nor is it the reason I put the article up on AfD (as you'll see in the discussion, there's three other articles I would have had to AfD at the same time if this was a political move), I believe there's only one way to interpret that statement: as a personal attack on the nominator, i.e. myself, in an attempt to make later commenters think it's a bad faith nomination and vote accordingly. (I happen to have a pro-GOP userbox on my user page, which is likely where it comes from.) So I did what, sadly, WP:PAIN requires me to do in order to protect myself from potential further attacks: I put an {{npa3}} tag on his user talk page. The editor then responded both on the AfD and his user talk page, engaging in (IMHO) some serious Wikilawyering (which I consider rather unpersuasive) to attempt to say that not only was his statement not an NPA violation, but that it was actually me who was engaging in WP:NPA both by making the AfD in the first place and by accusing him of WP:NPA violations at all. (You'll see he got some help in this from another editor named Sparkhead, who likes to go around interfering in just about everything I and several other editors do because he's into 9/11 conspiracy stuff and we go around trying to get that stuff deleted, mostly successfully.) So, after this long ramble, my request: Would you look at it and, using your admin-powered brain, just make a determination as to who's in the right here? I don't even care if you post anything to the AfD or either of the editors, unless you feel there's been a violation of good faith strong enough to require it. Weird things....

Hi. I can see that you blocked User talk:62.75.221.178. I remember to have reverted several examples of vandalism from this IP. However, now it seems that the edits of this anon user have vanished....with the consequence that my reverts either seem as changing nothing, or what is rather unpleasant [16], that I made the vandalism. Hmm, maybe it makes sense anyway. I remember when I reverted the vandalism my internet connection was working really slow. So while my computer slowly was reverting, someone else reverted the vandalism with the result that my revert actually reverted the reversion of the vandalism - it seems that this also happened at Sahaba, where the mistake luckily caught my attention. Please note that both my failed revert-attempts at Sahaba and House of Saud are registered for the very same minute as the actual rvv. Bertilvidet 23:29, 20 October 2006 (UTC)

In Strict Confidence

Hello. You recently speedy-deleted In Strict Confidence. While it was just a stub, I was surprised Wikipedia had nothing on them. You suggested it was A7 ("unremarkable/vanity"). Fair enough, they aren't properly mainstream but they still whack up a hefty 1.1m google hits, and have released 9 albums. They are perhaps better known in their native germany (German wikipedia has a page on them here de:In Strict Confidence), but I still think they are well-known enough elsewhere to gain their own entry. About my Vandalism?

I don't understand, what did I vandalize? I tried to ask Splot, but he just said he won't speak to me further on the matter. I really would like to know. I mean, how can I correct my mistakes if I don't even know what I did. Furthermore, I am not some stupid 12 year old on a kick. I am a full time college student much like you, though I am going to school for Aerospace Engineering and am only a Junior, but I am an older junior at 24. About the Deletion of "Samaritan Befrienders Hong Kong"

I quite agree with deleting pages with violation to copyright. But this time, I'm sorry to say that it is not the case here. The editors of the page "Samaritan Befrienders Hong Kong" during the past few days are students who are fulfilling the task assigned by the teacher. So after the deletion of that page, history of the contributions have all gone, leaving us empty-handed with no work to be handed in to the teacher. The students are new users of the wikipedia, and might not be so acquainted with the regulations of wiki, and may have violated the copyright this way or another. But after all, their performance will be judged by the teacher, so the deletion of this article will become all unnecessary.
I would appreciate it very much if you can restore that article. A quick question

You're an admin, so I guess I'll ask you. Please see my user page header (here). On it, I have some lyrics to a song by My Chemical Romance. Chacor thought it would be a good idea to ask an admin if it would be okay to keep the lyrics, and if there were any copyright laws or anything. Vernian Process Deletion

I have already sent this to the wiki contact e-mail, but since you approved the deletion of this article. I will send it to you as well:

I would like to address the deletion of the article "Vernian Process". It was voted that this music project did not meet the notability guidelines of your "encyclopedia". However I have a number of issues with this decision.

1. So according to your guidelines, a completely pointless and generic band can have an article as long as it is signed, or has gone on a national tour. Yet a music project that strives to create something completely unique isn't notable because it isn't on the cover of SPIN?

2. Giving ones art away for free, instead of using the services of a record label, prevents one from achieving notability?

3. I can go through wikipedia right now and find at least 20 bands that have valid articles, that don't meet any of these guidelines, yet they are all still very much active?!

4. Obviously somebody found this project notable, as they linked it in various other articles relating to the genre "Steampunk". (this was not done by myself).

So if you can give me a real valid reason why this article was deleted, I will leave it at that.--FACT50 09:41, 1 November 2006 (UTC)

I don't understand how you can say that Abney Park never mentioned VP as an influence, when there is a valid post from the creator of the band right in front of you. Think about the context you are looking at this with. What you are basically asking (no telling) me to do is to ask Robert politely if he can add a reference on his wikipedia article mentioning my project? That is beyond ridiculous. Ambar - deleted and then restored

Not sure if this has been pointed out, but it looks like AfD screwed up. Just to start the ball rolling and institute a culture change, I'm trying to get all admins closing things at AfD to remember to check the page history of an article before deleting, so that drastic changes in the nature of a page are spotted, and also urging those voting at AfD to do the same. Admin Coaching, now being coordinated by HighwayCello, is a program for people who want help learning some of the more subtle aspects of Wikipedia policy and culture. People are matched with experienced users who are willing to offer coaching. The program is designed for people who have figured out the basics of editing articles; they're not newcomers any more, but they might want some help in learning new roles. In this way, Esperanza would help keep hope alive for Wikipedia because we would always be grooming the next generation of admins. What's New? The Tutorial Drive is a new Esperanza program! In an effort to make complicated processes on Wikipedia easier for everyone, Esperanza working to create and compile a list of tutorials about processes here on Wikipedia. Consider writing one!
