Thank you for all the Oxford commas

edit

Hi, Cookiethepug,

Thank you for inserting all the Oxford commas into Wikipedia articles. And many of the other grammar corrections you made were definitely needed. However, please be careful to review your corrections before publishing them. Several of the changes you made introduced grammatical errors into articles. For example, in the Marty Fields article, you changed "Fields has worked..." to "Fields have worked..." Of course, "Fields" is not plural and so the correct verb is "has." I hope you'll continue participating in Wikipedia editing and tracking down grammatical errors, but please do take care to make sure the corrections you make are needed. Thanks! --Jeremy Butler (talk) 11:04, 30 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

No, actually, no thank you. Do not insert Oxford commas into existing articles per MOS:VAR. -- Ssilvers (talk) 21:29, 30 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
Sorry about this, will be more careful next time.
Also please be careful with unnecessary use of the definite article "the". Sometimes it makes no difference, but in some contexts it's unnecessary and makes the wording awkward. While not grammatically incorrect, these edits present stylistic problems. Examples: [1], [2]. At best these edits create unnecessary wordiness. Otherwise, thanks for your edits. Sockpuppet investigation

edit

An editor has opened an investigation into sockpuppetry by you. Sockpuppetry is the use of more than one Wikipedia account in a manner that contravenes community policy. The investigation is being held at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Cookiethepug, where the editor who opened the investigation has presented their evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with the guide to responding to investigations, and then feel free to offer your own evidence or to submit comments that you wish to be considered by the Wikipedia administrator who decides the result of the investigation. If you have been using multiple accounts (in a manner contrary to Wikipedia policy), please go to the investigation page and verify that now. Leniency is usually shown to those who promise not to do so again, or who did so unwittingly, but the abuse of multiple accounts is taken very seriously by the Wikipedia community.

Don't use misleading edit summaries

edit

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. Constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, but a recent edit of yours has an edit summary that appears to be inaccurate or inappropriate. The summaries are helpful to people browsing an article's history, so it is important that you use edit summaries that accurately tell other editors what you did. Feel free to use the sandbox to make test edits. Thank you. SNUGGUMS (talk / edits) 23:36, 19 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

I appreciate the correction and it was not my intention to mislead, but I see now how that would be taken. Thank you for the advice., will be more careful moving forward with these--Cookiethepug (talk) 00:57, 20 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
