Czech Pirates platform edit

You are not listening, what you said is not right, it is factions because it says, which you didn’t read, obviously you skimmed, it said “Despite Ivan Bartoš, the leader, being a trustworthy and promising politician, (“some” of the members harbor weird “libertarian” opinions) – especially regarding so-called platform capitalism.“ --Social Studies Rules (talk) 10:05, 27 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

Social Studies Rules: This kind of nuances, if even notable, can be expressed in the article body, not in the infobox. There are sources for using the phrase "left-libertarianism"; these sources are not negated because some other source uses the wording "some members". That source doesn't talk about any "factions"-that is, again, your personal interpretation. Furthermore, if source says a vague statement such as "some members have weird libertarian opinions", it doesn't have anything to do with another source saying that the party has "left-libertarian" positions. If you wish to express the content of a source, try rephrasing that source in the main article text in an encyclopedic manner; and stop edit warring over the infobox - it's waste of your time.--Concus Cretus (talk) 01:43, 28 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

File:Avast SecureLine.png edit

Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. RonBot (talk) 17:16, 10 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

HideMyAss! url edit

The www.hidemyass.com link has been blacklisted and therefore it is not in the Infobox on the wiki page. we've reached the end of making this happen. Do you think you can help? Empey at Avast (talk) 19:16, 7 February 2019 (UTC)Reply

@User:Empey at Avast: Hi Empey. I can help with what you need, but based on what you have written in this message, I have absolutely no idea what you are talking about, since you give no context. I don't know what end you have reached and what you need or what this url is about. If you need some help, please elaborate :) --Concus Cretus (talk) 02:49, 8 February 2019 (UTC)Reply
Hi Concus Cretus. On the HideMyAss! wiki page's infobox, it would be great to get www.hidemyass.com URL added to the infobox. Sorry for not being clearer :) Empey at Avast (talk) 03:46, 8 February 2019 (UTC)Reply
@User:Empey at Avast How have you "reached the end of making this happen"? Here is a site where the procedure can be proposed for requesting the removal of the url from the blacklist. Did you check why the site has been blacklisted and have the given reasons for the blacklisting been addressed and verifiably resolved since then? If a request for removing the site from the blacklist is to be made, such reasons must be explained. Otherwise it will be declined by administrators I believe.--Concus Cretus (talk) 06:23, 8 February 2019 (UTC)Reply
Hi Concus Cretus. The Proposed Removals site you referenced says “Requests from site owners or anyone with a conflict of interest will be declined.” Because of that, I went another route and asked for help in the IRC chat, but they said we have no recourse because of our conflict of interest. I also posted here but nobody seems to be responding to the requests there. Not sure if the word “Ass” in the URL is holding us back, but it is a legit company name and we just want to make it easy for people looking to find the site from the infobox. Any ideas on how to get the URL off the blacklist so we can add it to the infobox is much appreciated. Empey at Avast (talk) 17:30, 8 February 2019 (UTC)Reply
@User:Empey at Avast Hi. I am aware about the conflict of interest so I am ok to help where it is needed. But first, if you are "not sure if the word “Ass” in the URL", you can first make sure. As in the link i gave you previously already (MediaWiki_talk:Spam-blacklist#Proposed_removals), "Look at MediaWiki_talk:Spam-blacklist/log to see who blacklisted the link and when, and the reason given for blacklisting." Clearly, the instructions say that it is possible to find out this information (maybe in the history of that page). So once you find by whom, when and why it was blacklisted - by following the instructions - let me know and I will approach the admin with the information and propose to reverse the blacklisting.--Concus Cretus (talk) 11:44, 10 February 2019 (UTC)Reply
Hi Concus Cretus. In looking at the complete blacklist log, I found hidemyass.com listed under January 2009 under the heading “Vandalism.” Next to it were the usernames @NawlinWiki: (an admin) and @Jarlaxle:. Presumably, Jarlaxle was using the URL on Wikipedia inappropriately and NawlinWiki blacklisted it. Empey at Avast (talk) 23:31, 11 February 2019 (UTC)Reply
@User:Empey at Avast ok, I will bring this issue with that information to some administrators in the coming days...--Concus Cretus (talk) 01:47, 13 February 2019 (UTC)Reply

Comparing different survey edit

I reverted your change on https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Czech_Republic_and_the_euro. You can't compare different survey that use different methodology. It's not the same measure! What we can do is graphing all survey on the same graph (with different curve) to provide an overview. Gagarine (talk) 17:08, 13 February 2019 (UTC)Reply

Gagarine Absolutely not. As you can see in 2019 European Parliament election in France or Proposed second Scottish independence referendum for instance, polls by various polling organizations are always presented in the same table, never secluded. Dividing them is highly non-standard and contradicts the purpose of the entire section.--Concus Cretus (talk) 01:12, 14 February 2019 (UTC)Reply
I do not believe showing "an habit on Wikipedia" is an argument. Show me a book in political science that say it's the way to go. Also take a look at the graph in the two versions. Do you don't see the problem? The graph a simply wrong now. At least if you do this revert (that I do not have time to fight for), fix the graph you broke. Gagarine (talk) 10:39, 15 February 2019 (UTC)Reply
For the graph, I recommend to use a line of different color for each survey. That will allow to see that the general tendency is similar in each survey without introducing a bigger marginal errors and noise. Also I check the pages your referenced, this are different case where we do not have access to longitudinal data. But for Czech we do have longitudinal data point for each year by the UE Barometer. Gagarine (talk) 13:46, 15 February 2019 (UTC)Reply
What you describe as "the problem" is actually a desirable feature of the table. There is not much to fix, since it is in its original intended state.--Concus Cretus (talk) 07:36, 16 February 2019 (UTC)Reply

Cradle picture edit

Hey Concus. Is there a rule about pictures at the top of band pages? Saw your revert and guessing there's a particular reason for it. Cheers, Cardinal Wurzel (talk) 09:54, 15 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

Hi. As far as I understand, there is no specific rule dictating what kind of image should be in the infobox. I just find it not sufficiently representative for the infobox to use an image with arbitrarily selected two out of six members. It seems that the randomness of two specific persons out of six is slightly unencyclopedic, so it seems better to have an image with more of an overview, rather than a portrait. Cheers.--Concus Cretus (talk) 10:30, 15 May 2019 (UTC)Reply
Oh okay... I'm not really sure a picture of a stage where you can barely see the band is any more representative... Cardinal Wurzel (talk) 14:19, 15 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

A tag has been placed on Category:Members of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Republic (2006–2010) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Liz Read! European countries by wage edit

Hello Concus Cretus. Recently you pinged me from a thread at User talk:33Hudsonbay33#Edit war. You were leaving a warning for User:33Hudsonbay33.

If you disagree with the other party, can you open a discussion at Talk:List of European countries by average wage so that administrators will know what the dispute is about? You previously clashed with the same editor at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/3RRArchive391#User:33Hudsonbay33 reported by User:Concus Cretus (Result: No violation) but it's unclear if the Czech Republic dispute has anything at all to do with the European countries by wage dispute. This is something that you could clarify.

Certainly the few responses by User:33Hudsonbay33 are hard to understand. Thank you, EdJohnston (talk) 00:16, 19 June 2019 (UTC)Reply

Prague collage 2018 edit

Hello Concus Cretus, I am pleased that you have decided to use my picture on the collage Prague collage 2018.jpg. However, would you consider to move the second row and replace it with the third row? I do not consider skyscrapers to be a major sights of Prague, after all, the third row says more about the atmosphere of this city. I think that for example in Photoshop this is not too much work, if you do not have time, I could do it myself after agreement. I'm asking because this collage is used on many infoboxes of various language mutations. Jirka.h23 (talk) 05:06, 31 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

Hi. I find that photo to be useful to represent the "economy" of the city in the infobox. I am not sure if switching the second with the third row would make any improvement, but I do not insist on any specific order of the images. The logic of having the "Pankrác" image above the "Malá Strana" street image is that a panoramic overview should be seen before eye-level street view (but maybe I am wrong). If you believe however, that changing this would be a substantial improvement, you are free to do so!--Concus Cretus (talk) 02:13, 1 September 2019 (UTC)Reply
Decision is up to you, it was just a suggestion. Both versions will be fine. Jirka.h23 (talk) 16:00, 4 September 2019 (UTC)Reply
