This image of mine is suitable for Saravana Bhavan article.

This image of mine is suitable for Saravana Bhavan article. I have changed the copyright so you can load it to Commons. I love the place and have eaten there many times, mostly at Radhakrishnan Salai branch where this was taken. Did You see this and the 4 photos of the sweets counter after it?--Marcus (talk)

Thank you. I am glad that you liked the food. Honestly, I have never eaten in Saravana Bhavan, but i have heard a lot about it. one day. I see you have had a great time in India and appreciate your contributions on "protected areas of India". I am happy that we still have some left. u know what i mean. By the way, i like this picture as well. Guess will also be suitable for that article. As of now, the article lacks text, but will hopefully will improve over time. --Docku: What's up? 03:49, 1 April 2009 (UTC)
Also reassigned sweets pic to Attribution-ShareAlike Creative Commons.-Marcus (talk) 14:37, 1 April 2009 (UTC)
Thanks a lot. will upload as soon as i can. --Docku: What's up? 15:53, 1 April 2009 (UTC)
I assumed this pic was also taken in Radhakrishnan Salai and mentioned in the picture. Pls correct me if i am wrong. --Docku: What's up? 16:52, 1 April 2009 (UTC)
You assume correctly.-Marcus (talk) 18:26, 1 April 2009 (UTC)

Sockpuppet investigations

Do have a look at this! It is finally over. However, it doesn't bring any solace. Are you aware of the fact that User:YellowMonkey has left?-The EnforcerOffice of the secret service 17:00, 1 April 2009 (UTC)

i saw the sock saga over. but why are you still bothered? i would just not care. But, what are they going to do with User:ShivNarayanan for bringing up these bogus allegations? but it is shocking news that Yellowmonkey left.. I wonder what happened? Does it have anything to with the recent sock investigation? --Docku: What's up? 17:10, 1 April 2009 (UTC)
User:ShivNarayanan brought out allegations of bias on User:YellowMonkey's part citing the fact that both of us had corresponded with each other in our talkpages during the investigations. He, therefore, complained to the Arbitration Committee. I do not know what happened next as these accusations were dealt with off-Wiki. I guess this accusation had given the authorities a reason to re-examine User:YellowMonkey's past work. And I guess there seems to have arisen some problem. I do not know what happened but I suspect User:ShivNarayanan's accusations were atleast partly responsible for YellowMonkey leaving Wikipedia.-The EnforcerOffice of the secret service 19:43, 1 April 2009 (UTC)
wow. quite a possibility. He seems not to have publicly announced his departure. well.. --Docku: What's up? 20:29, 1 April 2009 (UTC)
But I guess you might have observed that he has deleted his userpage and look at his talkpage hints that he might have informed close friends and administrators privately.-The EnforcerOffice of the secret service 21:08, 1 April 2009 (UTC)
agree with you on the indications. we really need more responsible Indian wikipedians (or wikipedians interested in India related topics) with administrative tools. --Docku: What's up? 21:33, 1 April 2009 (UTC)
You guys should run. Too many trolls loose on the subcontinent like you know who....current AFD....any most of the current Indian admins won't bite them, or demonstrate in support of those who would bite them. YellowMonkey (cricket calendar poll!) 08:07, 7 April 2009 (UTC)

Normally the arbitrators usually don't reply to any complaint sent to them (<10%), or only one guy cares and nothing happens, so if they're bothered investigating me, they're probably looking for any old excuse to ban me. So I guess I'll be KOed any moment now, but I'm not going to run away, as I haven't done anything wrong. I should probably play small target and freeloading politics unless people want to go and demonstrate for me each week....

Glad you are back. I was also taken aback by the immediate action taken by the arbitrators. kind of seemed odd. Anyway, I agree with you on the "too may trolls" and "the unwillingness to confront them" problem among administrators here. Thanks for suggesting to run for Admin, may be in the future. Please dont go away in any case. :) --Docku: What's up? 12:35, 7 April 2009 (UTC)

Articles

Could you create articles for Commonweal Party and also Tamilnadu Toilers Party. These parties which were dominated by Vanniyars are considered to be predecessors of the Pattali Makkal Katchi. I have my hands full at the moment that I simply dont have the time to create them.-The EnforcerOffice of the secret service 03:02, 2 April 2009 (UTC)

The problem is most of the references are inaccessible to me. --Docku: What's up? 03:41, 2 April 2009 (UTC)
damm, it exists already. is it the same? --Docku: What's up? 03:43, 2 April 2009 (UTC)
No! I don't think this is the one. Tamilnadu Toilers Party (TNT) is different from Indian Farmers and Toilers Party. It was founded in 1951 and does not exist any more.-The EnforcerOffice of the secret service 04:24, 2 April 2009 (UTC)
In case you have time, could you create an article for Bhaskara Sethupathy? The article was previously deleted as a copyvio. I am busy with List of Speakers of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly right now.-The EnforcerOffice of the secret service 15:35, 2 April 2009 (UTC)

Hi! Could you do me a help? I've nominated Virugambakkam for a DYK. However, it had been assessed as 'Stub' before expansion and needs to be reassessed. License tagging for File:Box canyon ruins.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Box canyon ruins.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. Copyvio images

Hi! How are you? Do have a look at this image. I am sure that atleast two of the images in the collage (those of Arcot Ramasamy Mudaliar and K. Anbazhagan) are copyvios. While writing the Arcot Ramasamy Mudaliar article, I came across the Arcot Ramasamy Mudaliar image in an UN site and had purposely omitted the image as it was most likely to be a covered by copyright and instead used a PD-image from a 1934 book. Anyway, since casteist accusations were made by User:ShivNarayanan, I don't wish to involve myself in these articles. I leave it to you to deal with it.-The EnforcerOffice of the secret service 16:16, 15 April 2009 (UTC)

hi. glad u r still keeping a low profile presence. i will look at it later when i have more time at hand. --Like I Care 16:19, 15 April 2009 (UTC)
Frankly speaking I'm fed up with the way Wikipedia works and the bias shown by some DYK admins. I understand that I have been contributing substandard content as is evident here. I have taken the decision not to trouble Wikipedia anymore by spending hours researching on some largely forgotten individual like G. T. Boag or anyone else. If possible, I'll contribute some insignificant micro-stubs from time to time which these geniuses who commented on my DYK nom could expand. But surely, I wouldn't trouble these DYK admins by nominating DYKs anymore. It definitely makes me aware of the time I've wasted here. I do expect the call in a couple of weeks but I feel pressurized to stop even before that. Anyway, thank you for your kindness.-The EnforcerOffice of the secret service 06:58, 19 April 2009 (UTC)
your contributions to wikipedia are invaluable. In a public area such as DYK page, where editors from diverse specialities interact, it is unlikely that anyone acknowledges others for what they are worth. While I understand such comments can make sincere contributors like yourself less willing to collaborate and participate, it was well within wikipedia guidleines that editors critcise DYK nominations. Unfortunately wikipdia has no system to acknowledge and appreciate prolific and valuable contributors and it happens more often than not that you are treated on par with an idle editor, vandal and POV pusher. But, remember that your contributions will be remembered and appreciated by people who are familiar with your area of interest and we would want you to continue contributing as and when you find time without compromising too much on your personal life. good luck. --Like I Care 15:27, 19 April 2009 (UTC)
Thank you very much for your encouragement! The same editor who commented on this nom had also stalled 6 of my other noms. So, I removed all the 6 of them partly because I was angry and partly because due to time constraints, I could not keep track of each and every DYK. Now, one particular DYK admin User:Dravecky removed 5 of the 6 hooks because they were self-noms (See [1], [2], [3]) and kept repeatedly restoring the remaining hook created by someone else explaining that removal of the hook "was unfair for the person who had created the hook"([4], [5]) . Now if the concerned DYK admin was truly impartial, he ought to have removed all the hooks I've withdrawn or restored all of them. I have a strong opinion that this sort of action is somewhat personal. Wikipedia could very well block me for making personal attacks. I don't bother about it. I got orders the day before and I've got to start packing work. I still have some small touch up work here and there.-The EnforcerOffice of the secret service 12:21, 22 April 2009 (UTC)
I see what you mean. well, I am happy you are moving ahead in your personal life and am sure your new job is better than the previous one. intrigued!

well, it was in response to a message posted here on Wikipedia talk:Noticeboard for India-related topics which I watch regularly and occasionally respond to. By the way, I dont need to be a History scholar to decide whether a theory you want to add here is fringe or not based on wikipedia guidleines. just common sense. good luck. --Like I Care 19:51, 17 April 2009 (UTC)

Thanks and agree but be sure you have read wikiguidelines carefully. From the last message on the board it does not seem that you have read the notability guideline very well. I hope I am wrong but I have perceived an undue hostility and suspicion in your posts on that board. I am hoping I will be proven wrong soon on this.

Moving images to Commons

Re your question about the best way to move images to Commons, I don't think I know, as it was the first image I moved. I used "CommonsHelper Helper" [sic], but it was very troublesome and after it said it finished everything I had to do several more things to get it completely moved over. For images that are proper candidates, have a look at the links that at {{Move to commons}}. You can also just add that tag yourself and it will alert others that the image should be moved and maybe someone else will do it. —Danorton (talk) 15:07, 19 April 2009 (UTC)

I have nominated Mumbai for a featured article review here. Please join the discussion on whether this article meets featured article criteria. Articles are typically reviewed for two weeks. If substantial concerns are not addressed during the review period, the article will be moved to the Featured Article Removal Candidates list for a further period, where editors may declare "Keep" or "Remove" the article's featured status. Chidambaram Temple

Can you have a look at this article? I don't know where to start with the Wikilink fixing, the words have been run together by previous editing. Any suggestions/help you can offer are valuable to me. Thank you. Portia327 (talk) 13:12, 26 April 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for the fast response; you pegged what threw me at first glance - Tamil transliteration. There seemed to be many redundancies in a language I didn't understand and I am admittedly fully ignorant of Tamil (among many other things); I took them for broken Wikilinks. I'll look on the Google sites you recommended and go from there. You're most helpful, I'm learning a lot as I go along. Portia327 (talk) 19:08, 26 April 2009 (UTC)

Daily Wikibreak

Once upon a time, you asked "if it is possible to enforce a wikibreak during certain hours of the day everyday". I think I've found a way to do that:

/*** BEGIN WIKIBREAK ENFORCER ***/
addOnloadHook(function() {
	var currentDate = new Date();
	var date = { year: currentDate.getFullYear(),
		month: currentDate.getMonth() + 1, day: currentDate.getDate()};

	var startTime = { hours: 9, minutes: 0, seconds: 0 };
		/* the time when you want the break to start */

	var endTime = { hours: 17, minutes: 0, seconds: 0 };
		/* the time when you want the break to end */

	var startDate = new Date(date.year, date.month-1, date.day,
			startTime.hours, startTime.minutes, startTime.seconds);
	var endDate = new Date(date.year, date.month-1, date.day,
			endDate.hours, endDate.minutes, endDate.seconds);
	if (startDate <= currentDate && currentDate < endDate) {
		alert("Enforced wikibreak.");
		location = "http://"+location.host+"/w/index.php?title=Special:"
				+"Userlogout&returnto=Main_Page";
	}
});
/*** END WIKIBREAK ENFORCER ***/

Add it to Special:MyPage/monobook.js adjusting the start time and the end time, bypass your browser's cache and it will work (I hope). --A. di M. (formerly Army1987) — Deeds, not words. 21:39, 27 April 2009 (UTC)

Thanks. will try sometime. will this work even if one disables Java in their browser. --Like I Care 21:43, 27 April 2009 (UTC)
Unfortunately not (if by "Java" you actually mean "JavaScript"), as it's based on Javascript... but I've found that I feel urged to do that much less often now that I only block myself at certain times of the day, than I did when I used to block myself for entire days. --A. di M. (formerly Army1987) — Deeds, not words. 21:51, 27 April 2009 (UTC)
