Olá Bruno! You may be right - I might made a mess whilst trying to clean up; I'll take a look and fix it where needed. As for the routing of flights, if you're listing them in the accidents section, I think it's fine to include the via airports. But, in the main destinations table (where we list currently operating airlines & destinations), we don't say "via". We just list the destinations in alphabetical order. Obrigado! Aeronorte edit

It seems we have a problem. According to ASN, an airline called Aeronorte lost a DC-3 in 1973. Looks like I'll have to do some digging here. For the moment, I'll un-link Aeronorte from the 1973 DC-3 crash list. Mjroots (talk) 11:49, 31 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

dear Mjroots. I find it strange as well. What I know for sure is that Aeronorte was bought and merged into Aerovias Brasil in 1953 which in turn was bought by Varig in 1961 (complicated history). Presently there exists another Aeronorte in Portugal but I reckon it has nothing to do with this accident. On the other hand, Mirituba is a small location in the municipality of Itaituba in Pará, Brazil. My huntch is that Aeronorte some kind of business or development company in the Amazon and this DC-3 was a privatly-owned aircraft. I however was not able to gather further evidence. The mistery continues. BRGDS (Brunoptsem (talk) 12:46, 31 August 2010 (UTC))Reply
Mystery solved as per a kind e-mail from Harro Ranter, the president of ASN. The full name of the company in reference is Aeronorte Indústria e Comércio, being a private company different from the Aeronorte - Empresa de Transportes Aéreos Norte do Brasil mentioned in the wikiarticle. So the article is correct as it is. To avoid future mistakes I will place an explanatory hidden note. Here the transcription: "On Fri, May 13, 2011 at 3:43 AM, Harro Ranter wrote: Thanks, indeed it was another Aeronorte. A company with the full name Aeronorte Industria e Comercio Ltda. I will correct that. kind regards, Harro Ranter President Aviation Safety Network - an exclusive service of the Flight Safety Foundation hr@aviation-safety.net http://aviation-safety.net" BRGDS (Brunoptsem (talk) 09:41, 13 May 2011 (UTC))Reply
Thanks for solving that one. An edit note seems the perfect solution. Mjroots (talk) 09:57, 13 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Lóide Aéreo Nacional with Bolivian registration numbers edit

From the top of my head I remember this: http://aviation-safety.net/database/record.php?id=19510729-0 Note the Bolivian registration number which has nothing to do with the Brazilian defunct airline Lóide Aéreo Nacional... Mystery solved as per a kind e-mail from Harro Ranter, the president of ASN. It seems that CB-39 previously owned by Lloyd Aéreo Boliviano, was bought by Lóide Aéreo Nacional and crashed on the ferry delivery flight, still bearing the Bolivian registration number but owned by the Brazilian airline. Here the transcription: On Fri, May 13, 2011 at 3:55 AM, Harro Ranter wrote: "I think both your statements are correct. Fleet lists indicate that CB-39 was operated by LAB until it was bought by Lóide Aéreo Nacional a few days before the accident. Wiki-team work is always cool! (Brunoptsem (talk) 13:40, 5 July 2012 (UTC))Reply
Yeah, definitely!
By the way, one question: in one of the edits you changed the long&lat a little bit, you put the one according to ANAC. The one I had put there, is the one according to Google maps. What I did was, on Google maps I clicked exactly in the centre of the runway, and I obtained the long&lat of that exact spot. You then took it from one of the sources, and the difference was really very small, just a few arc-seconds. What is the recommended criteria for choosing the long&lat? In a previous discussion someone told me: ignore the sources, use the long&lat from Google maps. So I wanted to ask you: is there an official criteria for this? Azylber (talk) 14:21, 5 July 2012 (UTC)Reply
Dear Azylber, Good question! I do not know if there is a forum about the issue. The National Civil Aviation Agency of Brazil, known by the acronym ANAC is the Agency of the Brazilian Federal Government responsible for the information of all airports and aviation in Brazil. If I am not mistaken, their airport tables date from 2009. I have been updating the geo-locations of all Brazilian airports to the ones officially used by the Brazilian government. Obviously a Google map is not official. In this sense, I consider them more accurate, even if slightly different from the ones used by Google maps or by World Aero Data (data from 2006). I believe, but I am not sure, they use the control tower as the geo-location point. In Brazil this information is easily available, which is not the case in other countries. So, personally and if available, I would use the official data and reference the source. BRGDS (Brunoptsem (talk) 14:44, 5 July 2012 (UTC))Reply
Ok, perfectly clear, thanks! Azylber (talk) 16:08, 5 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

About Iberia flights in Uruguay edit

Hi Brunoptsem, actually the source I provided [1] says BQB will (not 'may') take over the flights that Iberia is quitting. So I think it is informative to add this somewhere in the article, if not in the table. Hoverfish Talk 15:12, 10 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

Obrigado Brunoptsem. Tenha um bom dia. Hoverfish Talk 15:25, 10 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

To be honest the prospect of a relatively small company taking over such transatlantic flights, which are almost always filled to the last seat sounds overly ambitious, but the statement is there, the information is certainly critical for thousands of passengers, myself included, so I include it and will wait to see how it works out. After all I come from a country where overambitious statements are made all the time, followed by big delays and modifications (including cancelations). Cheers. Maués Airport edit

Hi, you changed the coordinates back to the ones given in the source. But actually they are less accurate. I'm not going to change anything again but you might check the marked location on the map and decide which of both coordinates is showing the airport and which one is a tree in the forest :) best regards --Grullab (talk) 21:10, 31 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

Dear Grullab, thanks for your kind warning. You are very right. Back in January, 2021 I changed the coordinates to match the data provided by the National Civil Aviation Agency (057°42'44W 03°21'25S), which are obviously incorrect. I have changed to a more accurate one (057°43'29W 03°22'20S), which equals your change. I even checked whether a new airport had been built or if a new technlogy of airports on top of trees had been created (LOL). But these are not the case. Best Regards, (Brunoptsem (talk) 21:55, 31 May 2021 (UTC))Reply
Actually it often happens that those official coordinates are not quite accurate. Maybe it's accurate enough for them, but we are better. :D best regards --Grullab (talk) 15:56, 1 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

SBVT Airport Elevation edit

Hello, I have seen conflicting information for SBVT airport for its elevation. The latest AIP AMDT as of 04NOV21 has its elevation at 10 meters while the AISWEB site has it at 10 feet. Do you know how to officially find out the correct value?

Thank you 2600:1011:B12C:65BB:4449:1D56:CA62:2CD2 (talk) 13:31, 10 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hello Usertalk, thanks for your message. According to the Brazilian National Civil Aviation Agency, the elevation of SBVT is 3 meters or 10 feet. This is reference number 3 in the article and this is the link https://www.anac.gov.br/acesso-a-informacao/dados-abertos/areas-de-atuacao/aerodromos/lista-de-aerodromos-publicos-v2 . I would consider this information as the official. Apparently AIP AMDT has a mistake and AISWEB is right. (Brunoptsem (talk) 00:58, 11 November 2021 (UTC))Reply

MAP edit

ATR 72 ainda ? nada achei. ATR-500 ? nada achei. 92.76.156.249 (talk) 21:22, 1 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

Dear IP, In reply to your question, and regardless of the fact that you consider it defunct, the National Civil Aviation Agency of Brazil considers it active. Therefore, I can garantee that MAP still exists. The proof is that it has a valid CNPJ (taxation number) 10.483.635/0001-40 but also, and above all, its Air operator's certificate was renewed by Decision (Portaria) 8601 of July 15, 2022. It might not have aircraft under its name but it can be an operational decision of its owner Gol Linhas Aéreas SA. (Brunoptsem (talk) 13:34, 20 August 2022 (UTC))Reply
