Page look edit

I really like the look of your page. I am a big art fan, and would like to now how to make my page look like that too. Sorry if this is actually really basic stuff, I am a bit of a rookie! MarioFyreFlower (talk) 18:48, 17 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

I just use a basic wikitable.
insert content here.
The only thing I did was remove the "|}" at the end. you can find out more in H:TABLE, I'm really basic though. There are other editors who know far more than I do.Blue Pumpkin Pie (talk) 19:54, 17 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

Angelique (video game series) edit

Hello! I see that you have worked on this page. Today I found it and noticed it was missing several generations of titles, so I filled in what I was able to find - it might still not be complete. I'm also not totally sure which are main series games because I did not play them. Could you please take a look? I think the article needs better organization and a list of all platforms each title was released on as well, so if you have any ideas for that, it would be great! Paper Mario edit

Not sure why you left a comment on a closed peer review page, so I'll respond here instead.

Listing out each game and its gameplay is not just for the benefit of explaining each gameplay. According to PresN, the article isn't simply a series list, it should also explain how the series has evolved over time. Because each Paper Mario game has been drastically different from the last, it's going to take a paragraph or two to explain what it did differently. Panini🥪 21:39, 2 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

@Panini!: I understand. I believe there are two areas where that information is being reflected. IN the list of games, and the history breakdown. Thats why i find the information redundant.Blue Pumpkin Pie (talk) 22:05, 2 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Your GA nomination of Patapon (video game) edit

The article Patapon (video game) you nominated as a good article has been placed on hold  . The article is close to meeting the good article criteria, but there are some minor changes or clarifications needing to be addressed. If these are fixed within 7 days, the article will pass; otherwise it may fail. See Talk:Patapon (video game) for issues which need to be addressed. Your GA nomination of Patapon (video game) edit

The article Patapon (video game) you nominated as a good article has passed  ; see Talk:Patapon (video game) for comments about the article. Well done! If the article has not already appeared on the main page as a "Did you know" item, or as a bold link under "In the News" or in the "On This Day" prose section, you can nominate it within the next seven days to appear in DYK. Bolded names with dates listed at the bottom of the "On This Day" column do not affect DYK eligibility. Final Fantasy Unlimited edit

Awesome work on the article! It was a dog for so long, and now it’s really good! For GA, I think all it needs is a screenshot of the show, some more production, and some Japanese reviews of the show. Perhaps Protodrake could check and see if there is anymore, he is really awesome help at getting these more obscure articles filled! Judgesurreal777 (talk) 19:55, 19 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

@Judgesurreal777: I'm glad I can help out. I'll look around for a good screenshot. I tend to look for the ones with the most main characters in the same frame. I haven't used the interviews to their fullest yet. Some of the content is hard to translate. I heard some of these books and drama CDs are packed with interviews with the voice cast and tv team too.Blue Pumpkin Pie (talk) 20:42, 19 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

Wikiproject Video games Newsletter survey edit

I'm conducting another survey for the Wikiproject Video games Newsletter. If you could leave your thoughts on the matter it would be greatly appreciated. Every response will be compiled into a MOS-Esque answer that balances the thoughts of our top contributors. You're one of them! The question is as follows:

What would you consider the requirements of making a video game series article? What about franchise articles?

If you would like to respond, please ping me here and write your reply. I'll handle the rest. Thanks in advance, Panini!🥪 14:49, 14 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

On the GA review edit

Hi, this GA review of yours has been stalling for well over a month now. I just wondered if you were still interested in reviewing Castle Wolfenstein, or you've lost interest and forgotten to conclude the review. --► Sincerely: Solavirum 14:03, 28 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

Re your question at WTVG edit

I would've replied at WT:VG but the Wikipedia mobile app is glitchy and stops me from publishing.

Hey, BluePumpkinPie, I saw your question at WT:VG and just wanted to leave you with User:Panini!/sandbox3. Its a collection of VG users giving their thoughts about the requirements for a series article (I was doing a survey) and I bet you can find something helpful there. Panini!🥪 20:00, 27 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

@Panini!: I just filled it out. I recommend trying to add some visual indicator between the editor's opinions other than bullets.Blue Pumpkin Pie (talk) 20:28, 28 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

Oh, thank you! I want urging you to leave a reply, I was just showing you their responses based on your question at WT:VG. If the results are to be used (the stance of the WPVG Newsletter is rocky right now), I put them into a fancy formation anyways; the sandbox is where I store responses before I write out results (see the current issue for an example). List of SaGa video games edit

Thanks for reviewing my article! I worked on that a long time and I’m glad it was worthy of being promoted! I was wondering, this article from the Wikiproject Square Enix needs a source review, you know, check a few refs to make sure the article is accurate? Would you be available to do a quick one of those? Ok if you’re not, just wanted someone quality to do it. Once that’s done, this article should be good to become a featured list. Judgesurreal777 (talk) 19:44, 15 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

@Judgesurreal777: I can probably look into it and see what I can find.Blue Pumpkin Pie (talk) 20:39, 15 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

Recent reversions edit

Won't argue against them - just curious what you intend to say on WP:VG. Also, I might point out that someone, I believe an admin, may reactivate those templates' TfDs - they already did so for Metal Gear. GUtt01 (talk) 13:58, 16 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

@GUtt01: Just because a few editors found them not useful doesn't mean there was a consensus to removing them from the articles altogether. Especially since the consensus was to keep the template.Blue Pumpkin Pie (talk) 14:01, 16 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
Consensus was on keeping them, granted. But just because of that, it does not stipulate where the template can be used, and where it shouldn't. TfDs focus on the general question of whether a template should exist on Wikipedia or not, not on its placement. GUtt01 (talk) 14:05, 16 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
it definitely doesn't stipulate that they should be removed either. Cyberlink undid your edit, therefore you engaged in edit war rather than discussing it further, and you're making these RfCs with no notice to WP:VG. There's a better way of reaching consensus or making the consensus clear.Blue Pumpkin Pie (talk) 14:08, 16 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

RE: Lumines boxart edit

You said you wanted to discuss. Well I'm not sure what there is to discuss, I simply added a better version of the box. If you zoom in on the old one you will see rather heavy artifacting due to it being an old JPG image. The new one was isolated from a high resolution scan and downsized losslessly. Zoom into each of them and you will see a significant difference.ZXCVBNM (TALK) 14:15, 22 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

@Zxcvbnm: The image replacement also has obstructions on the cover art. It's just the one from MobyGames but in png format. If the main problem was the heavy artifacting. Why not use the same version on the article from mobygame and adjust the current file we have. instead of creating a whole new one? At the end of the day, these images do have to be reduced to meet fair-use and if artifacting is a serious issue, we can still get the current version in a higher quality.Blue Pumpkin Pie (talk) 14:49, 22 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Blue Pumpkin Pie: They are not obstructions, that's just how the NA cover art looks. I fail to see how posting an accurate cover art is a bad thing, especially since the NA version released first. The EU cover art does exist in high res, sure, but wanting it on the article specifically is more WP:IDONTLIKEIT than any substantive concern.ZXCVBNM (TALK) 20:45, 22 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Zxcvbnm: If it were up to my personal preference, I would have chosen the original Japanese cover art. But the version you uploaded is torn and battered; It is not high quality. Those white markings and the torn edges are not intentionally part of the design of the cover. That is easily verifiable by looking at any other scanned version of that cover.
That said, I felt like the cover art was replaced just for WP:ILIKEIT under the guise that the old version was not high enough resolution. I saw no real reason to replace it with the North American cover. There are plenty of European covers with releasing in NA first and they don't really cause any concern. With that said, the European release is more in line with the promotional art of the ports. Examples include Lumines mobile and Lumines on PC (WildTangent).Blue Pumpkin Pie (talk) 21:54, 22 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Blue Pumpkin Pie:The white markings are very much part of the design; they end abruptly on the back cover if you look at the original file on the internet. This one has them too. By all respects the scan is in perfect quality.
In any case, being a massively compressed, poor image is good enough reason to swap it out. While criteria say that images must be low-res, they don't say they must be low-quality as well.
I guess we will not resolve this by going back and forth, you clearly favor the EU boxart. Maybe a vote on the Lumines talk page would work better. I don't think this is an Ico situation but clearly there are strong views about it.ZXCVBNM (TALK) 22:14, 22 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
I was intending to bring it up in the talkpage from the beginning right before you messaged me on my talkpage. In any case, I'll make a topic about it and even gain WP:VG's attention on it. Blue Pumpkin Pie (talk) 22:22, 22 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

Featured article edit

You did a lot of good work on the article for Lumines. Don't forget to rest, but I want to offer some encouragement and support for when you're ready to tackle it again. I went through the same challenges with the FA process myself. But you can lean on Wikipedia:Peer review, as well as the Wikipedia:WikiProject Guild of Copy Editors to try to get some constructive feedback. I'm sure there are other channels to solicit feedback as well. If you're patient, it will help you revise the article. It often takes a few passes to resolve all the issues. Keep at it and happy editing. Shooterwalker (talk) 15:34, 8 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

@Shooterwalker: It is what it is. I'm not going to be too upset over it. I can always nominate it again. If the only thing that stops it from being FA is criteria 1a, then I think I can nominate it again after a few months.Blue Pumpkin Pie (talk) 16:06, 8 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

Sports series edit

Regarding the long-running games list, I understood based on the introductory summary on the list page that games based on other media aren’t allowed, and that things like PGA Tour aren’t quite media to begin with, with WWF falling more into the media category, as well as TV, movie, and comic-originated media like Star Trek, Star Wars, and Spider-Man being distinct from them. I can always remove EA’s series if that really turns out to be the case though. Electricmastro (talk) 18:31, 28 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

The After Years sources edit

Hi. As promised, I've done/I am doing a source hunt for Final Fantasy IV: The After Years. I may not be able to find everything, but I'll do my best. I've already got a few gap-fillers and useful resources.

Also, unrelated to release.

And...that's all I could sensibly find. I guess more dates would've been possible to get from the website, but with Adobe Flash no longer supported, it's become lost information. --ProtoDrake (talk) 12:37, 19 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

I appreciate the help @ProtoDrake:. It really does help a lot. I'll keep looking around and see what dark corners I can find for this game. Its a terrible shame that flash stopped being supported, it was such a popular tool in the late 2000sBlue Pumpkin Pie (talk) 03:01, 20 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

@Anarchyte: the Lumines: Puzzle Fusion article is a very fragile article. Organizing the information without redundancy is difficult. I repurposed my User:Blue Pumpkin Pie/sandbox 3 to help restructure the article in a way where I don't have to go back and forth making multiple small edits at a time. What would the ideal organization be for a game that released sequels and ports in between?Blue Pumpkin Pie (talk) 03:27, 24 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
I've just replied on the FAC page before seeing this. Yes -- a section entirely for ports is a good idea, as is one for version differences in gameplay. I've left further comments at FAC. Let me know what you think. Thanks, Anarchyte (talk) 07:13, 24 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
