Re-adding deleted article

Hey, thanks for the help with uploading photos with license. The article A. E. Goonesinha which I authored, was deleted within abut 20mins from addition for unambiguous copyright infringement. So now I've modified it, and am longing to add it again. But since it's mentioned to inform the people who deleted it, I did so. But those users seem to be having their own problems, cz 1 has been locked, etc. So it's ok for me to add it now right?? Thanks.. Gihaned (talk) 07:10, 3 January 2010 (UTC)

Hi, sorry for the late reply I have been quite busy among other stuff but I would say the best thing for you to do is seek advice from Moonriddengirl (talk · contribs) she deals in this kind of stuff and is very experienced unlike me and I am going to be very busy over this year so best to ask her because she replies quickly, but don't be afraid to talk to me anyway. Take care--Blackknight12 (talk) 01:57, 15 January 2010 (UTC)

Good work

Hi. I am the editor who requested an investigation into your uploading of images at Wikipedia:Contributor copyright investigations. Just to explain, this was in reponse to my noticing File:British Sri Lankans born ic Sri Lanka.png, and that you had a large number of comments on your talk page about image copyright violations. I hadn't expected a block to result and I didn't request this. It's good to see you back editing though and especially pleasing that you now seem to be helping to fix copyright issues with images that you have uploaded in the past. Cordless Larry (talk) 22:20, 14 January 2010 (UTC)

Hi, yes I know that it was you and I don't blame you for the blocking, thanks anyway and I'll see ya soon--Blackknight12 (talk) 02:52, 21 January 2010 (UTC)

Open FLC

You may have forgotten that you have an article, List of Sri Lankan monarchs, at FLC here. You forgot to transclude it onto WP:FLC, but that was done 4 days ago. Numerous opposes have been raised, and it will probably be archived if you don't respond to them. Cheers, Mm40 (talk) 12:47, 19 January 2010 (UTC)

Articles for deletion nomination of List of Sri Lankan Moors

I have nominated List of Sri Lankan Moors, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of Sri Lankan Moors. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

File permission problem with File:1055 vijayabahu~i au o copy.png

Thanks for uploading File:1055 vijayabahu~i au o copy.png. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Eusebius (talk) 10:04, 4 February 2010 (UTC)

Don Juan Dharmapala

Why did you move the article 'Don Juan Dharmapala' to 'Dharmapala of Sri Lanka'? No one calls him 'Dharmapala of Sri Lanka'?,(he was one of the most disgraced kings in sri lankan history ).He has done nothing in his life to earn such a big title and usually kings are known by their names. His name was Don Juan Dharmapala . Shehanw (talk) 13:29, 10 May 2010 (UTC)

Disgraced or not he was a king of Sri Lanka and Dharmapala of Sri Lanka is the title that is given to the kings of Sri Lanka on Wikipedia such as Mayadunne of Sri Lanka etc. You have to keep with the standard.--Blackknight12 (talk) 14:07, 10 May 2010 (UTC)
To keep with the standards, the title should be Don Juan Dharmapala of Sri Lanka, not 'Dharmapala of Sri Lanka'. Shehanw (talk) 15:26, 10 May 2010 (UTC)
It depends on what sources you use and by which name he is the most notable. This site is a reliable site and has a very large account of Sri Lankan History, many of the Sri Lankan articles take information from here. It uses Dharmapala [2] instead of Don Juan Dharmapala.
In that case his name comes under a list of kings. His most notable name in Sri Lanka is Don Juan Dharmapala. Even if you are searching in the internet,it is easier to find articles about him under the name Don Juan Dharmapala.Normally Dharmapala of Sri Lanka refers to Anagarika Dharmapala.

This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, a rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Article titles

Hello Blackknight12! I have seen your recent immigration articles and just would like to point out one thing regarding their titles.....it is better if you move the titles of pages like Japanese Sri Lankan, Chinese Sri Lankan, Korean Sri Lankan and Pakistani Sri Lankan to "Japanese people in Sri Lanka," "Chinese people in Sri Lanka", "Koreans in Sri Lanka" etc...these people are mostly expatriates and it is unlikely they would have Sri Lankan nationality or citizenship and hence refer to themselves as such. The terms are also nonexistent with hardly any results on google showing such groups. I would nominally be fine with Indian Sri Lankan as that is a bordering country and there is flow of citizens, but the other countries are really quite distinct. There are no sources discussing their spoken languages or their religions. Please do not add unsourced entries in infoboxes. I have also reverted your unexplained page blanking of the British Sri Lankan redirect, for the second time (you did the same thing last year without explanation either). This is a perfectly valid redirect; many immigrant groups in the United Kingdom are referred to as "British Xyz", such as British Chinese, British Indians, British Pakistanis, etc. Thank you. cab (call) 06:06, 31 October 2010 (UTC)
