Speedy deletion nomination of Flag of kabylie

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on Flag of kabylie requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. --Finngall talk 18:24, 7 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I'm MrX. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Touareg region, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Adding other-language "official names" requires sources and possibly discussion

edit

I and other editors have reverted your recent edits to several cities and states where you added Spanish-language versions of the official names. Most US states and cities do not have "official" names in any language other than English. Yes, there may be official translations on official documents created by those entities, but that's not the same as saying the Spanish-language version as the same "official" status as the English-language version.

That said, if you do run across a state, city, or other local government that DOES have non-English official names that have the same or even greater status than the English-language name, you are welcome to add it provided you include a reliable source to back it up. In some cases, such as articles about Native American tribes or entities controlled by those tribes, the "official name" will be in the Tribal language, not English, or both the tribal-language and the English-language names may enjoy the same "official" status. In any case, a reliable source is required for anything that any editor would reasonably question.

If you have a good command of the Spanish language, I would encourage you to visit the Spanish-language versions of the articles you edited today. I would expect that the Spanish-language Wikipedia would use the Spanish translation as its primary label (see es:Florida - the infobox has "Estado de Florida" on the top line, with "State of Florida" in smaller print beneath). davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 18:36, 22 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Tamazirt (city)

edit

The article Tamazirt (city) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

no source for existing, the coordinate indicate a city in east of Setif and is not match the article

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
