Hello, Bigedediki, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:Volosoft

A tag has been placed on Draft:Volosoft, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia. While objective prose about beliefs, organisations, people, products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. Thank you. Jimfbleak - talk to me? 10:57, 8 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hi Fram,
Thank you for your message. I am not trying to promote or advertise the company. I am simply trying to get it on Wikipedia. This is a task that was assigned to me and I know nothing about uploading articles on Wikipedia. I tried to get GPT4's help to be able to do that but this is as far as I can get, appearently. Can you please help me? Thank you. Bigedediki (talk) 12:53, 8 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
I removed "achievements" section and the expertise areas. Would this (hopefully) help in my approval process? Bigedediki (talk) 13:01, 8 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
The reason why your company wants to be present on Wikipedia is promotion. We are not a free webhost or a directory of every company, we have guidelines, WP:ORG, about what is needed for a company to get an article here. Even then, it is best if someone uninvolved, someone with no affiliation to the company or its employees, writes it. But in the case of Volosoft, ot looks as if it just hasn't received the necessary attention from newspapers and the like yet to warrant an article, no matter who wrote it. Fram (talk) 13:02, 8 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
I can totally understand Volosoft hasn't received the necessary attention from newspapers as almost no one knows it. Volosoft is the company that created 2 main open source frameworks those should have the necessary attention that is needed by Wikipedia. They are: ASPNET Boilerplate Framework and ABP Framework.
The fact that we were trying to get Volosoft on Wikipedia is because it actually was the first step of including those frameworks. A number of similar .NET frameworks, even the less popular ones exist on Wikipedia, to be honest.
Would it be possible for me to write and publish articles about them without the Volosoft company article?
I genuinely appreciate your honesty and time. Bigedediki (talk) 13:20, 8 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
If you want a user like Fram to see your message here, start it with their linked user name, as I have just done, and sign it with four tildes ~~~~ when you post it. That will send them an alert. I've probably provided most of the guidance below anyway Jimfbleak - talk to me? 13:29, 8 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
There is no connection between Wikipedia having an article on the company, and there being articles on those frameworks. It all depends on which subject(s) are deemed notable in Wikipedia terms, meaning where there exists significant coverage in multiple independent and reliable secondary sources about the subject.
BTW, you are not allowed to publish directly anything where you have a conflict of interest, like you did with Volosoft.
Also, you need to extend your paid-editing disclosure to cover those frameworks, before you attempt to write about them. HTH, -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 13:30, 8 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
Hi @Jimfbleak thank you for your notice. I am too new to get the hang of everything, you can consider me as I am trying to find my way in the dark. So, apologies for not properly understanding the guidance you left for me. I am trying my best, though. Thank you! I appreciate it. Bigedediki (talk) 13:45, 8 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
And hi @DoubleGrazing thank you for your message, too.
I guess I'll try to get the frameworks on Wikipedia. Since the frameworks have a wide community and they are completely open source, hence, no conflict for advertisement purposes, it should be okay. If not, maybe then we'll ask to the community or simply let this issue goĀ :) Bigedediki (talk) 13:45, 8 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Volosoft

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Volosoft requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company, corporation or organization that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

Hi, thanks for message. You can sign your comments automatically using four tildes ~~~~.

Thank you for declaring your conflict of interest. That doesn't mean you can write what you like, you must follow the guidance below:

  • you must provide independent verifiable sources to enable us to verify the facts and show that it meets the notability guidelines. Sources that are not acceptable include those linked to the organisation or company, press releases, YouTube, IMDB, social media and other sites that can be self-edited, logs, websites of unknown or non-reliable provenance, and sites that are just reporting what the company or organisation claims or interviewing its management. Note that references should be in-line so we can tell what fact each is supporting, and should not be bare urls
  • Much of your text was unsourced, and the refs you did give as bare urls do not appear to be independent third-party sources. They are sites associated with the company, or that can be edited by you, like YouTube and Github
  • The notability guidelines for organisations and companies have been updated. The primary criteria has five components that must be evaluated separately and independently to determine if it is met:
  1. significant coverage in
  2. independent,
  3. multiple,
  4. reliable,
  5. secondary sources.
Note that an individual source must meet all four criteria to be counted towards notability.
  • You are writing about a company , but don't mention it as having any headquarters, employees, management structure, turnover or profits. No evidence that it meets the notability criteria linked above
  • You must write in a non-promotional tone. Articles must be neutral and encyclopaedic, with verifiable facts, not opinions or reviews.
  • Your text is entirely "these are our products", which you "offer". Looks pretty spammy when that's all you're writing about. Furthermore, your claims for the products are taken from your own pages, eg A production-ready web application framework that provides a range of features including multi-tenancy, authentication & authorization, layered source code, and rapid application development tooling... and offers additional functionalities tailored for commercial use
  • There shouldn't be any url links in the article, only in the "References" or "External links" sections.
  • You must not copy text from elsewhere. Copyrighted text is not allowed in Wikipedia, as outlined in this policy. That applies even to pages created by you or your organisation, unless they state clearly and explicitly that the text is public domain. We require that text posted here can be used, modified and distributed for any purpose, including commercial; text is considered to be copyright unless explicitly stated otherwise. There are ways to donate copyrighted text to Wikipedia, as described here; please note that simply asserting on the talk page that you are the owner of the copyright, or you have permission to use the text, isn't sufficient.

Not reasons for deletion, but you only had one wikilink, and headings should be in sentence case.

Before attempting to write an article again, please make sure that the topic meets the notability criteria linked above, and check that you can find independent third party sources. Also read Your first article.

Because you have declared your COI, I haven't blocked you yet, but take your time; now you have had guidance, I won't hesitate to block you unless your next attempt is much more compliant. Also bear in mind that your company may not meet our notability criteria, although your drafts don't give any information on which to judge that Jimfbleak - talk to me? 13:24, 8 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
