The Wikipedia Library now offering accounts from Cochrane Collaboration (sign up!)

Cochrane Collaboration is an independent medical nonprofit organization consisting of over 28,000 volunteers in more than 100 countries. The collaboration was formed to organize medical scholarship in a systematic way in the interests of evidence-based research: the group conducts systematic reviews of randomized controlled trials of health-care interventions, which it then publishes in the Cochrane Library.

Cochrane has generously agreed to give free, full-access accounts to 100 medical editors. Individual access would otherwise cost between $300 and $800 per account. Thank you Cochrane!

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

• make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
• Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. Bill, I did read your comment about the tar sands on my Talk page. What can be done I suppose is to get into the politics of the Oil Sands page and promote the Tar Sands name with reasons for calling it that. I do several things, and, as important as it is for Wikipedia to call it by the name that more accurately reflects its properties in the minds of most who don't follow the debate, I'm tired of Wikipedia and their foolish policies and politics and don't want to get involved right now. Doing so would only make my angry and frustrated and I have too much of that in my life at this time. I may post some version of this comment on the Oil Sands talk page today but it's unlikely I'll do much more than that.
