Overlinking

Hi, the policy I was referring to when I reverted your link in the Wind power article is wp:overlink where it says "Avoid linking the names of major geographic features and locations..." It's normally accepted that this means that towns and cities etc. should be linked but not the country itself. Editors often do add links countries but I always revert them as I spot them. If I'd read through the article again recently I would have removed the other two as well - but I hadn't :-) Richerman (talk) 23:00, 16 July 2012 (UTC)

Debian article

If you can discuss to justify your changes and please do check up on any citations. I had to revert your changes since there's technical inaccuracies. I've elaborated previously with others on its talkpage on very similar criteria which you're editing. I welcome participation but you're placing in inaccuracies. You can discuss it on the debian's talkpage, and see how the article can be better written in certain areas.

Which exactly "technical inaccuracies" did you find? All the information I added was from the Debian Project's "About" web-page [1]. It is what Debian says about itself.

There was an email, usertalkpage and Debian Talkpage for you to discuss your changes. You did not talk on any of these pages. I have been maintaining the Debian Page in it's history, and have no problem discussing changes.

Please do not make edits without citing.

The reason why it's not needed on the first sentence is convolution. Two other projects are mentioned: GNU and Linux project. It's a technical requirement not to include 'Debian project' prior, as the 'Debian project' is not built with acquaintance of GNU and Linux projects.

What is "not needed"? The reference to Debian project? I disagree. It is like demanding no reference to Microsoft in the Windows article. Bakkedal (talk) 09:21, 6 June 2013 (UTC)

The other reason is Debian does not depend on the 'Linux project' to be fully warranted as a Linux-only operating system. There is no special requirement to understand Debian by convolving the basics with 'Debian Project' as it's already self-referential on it's following introduction phrase.

Solar Impulse RTW: Distance

Thanks for adding the distances to the detailed flight table. However, where do they come from? Are they actual travel distances or point-to-point distances? Also, they don't look very precise (400 km. 1500 km etc). As much as I also would like to have distances in there, we must find a reliable source for consistent and verifiable information.Wild8oar (talk) 13:50, 18 March 2015 (UTC)

I guess self-measured distances are ok, if properly declared. There should be tools for calculating distances between airports. They should give better results. And could also be used as a reference. Wild8oar (talk) 15:30, 18 March 2015 (UTC)
