License tagging for Image:Shankarmath.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Shankarmath.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 20:10, 1 September 2007 (UTC)

Unrelated watchlist comment

edit

In my watchlist I have this comment

# (diff) (hist) . . Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard‎; 02:08 . . (+546) . . Maxim (Talk

— contribs) (→POV pusher in Ottawa Senators-related articles - comment)

but it talks about hockey...nothing to do with my page...what do do about it if anything? --Babaji108 02:19, 4 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Apparently, you posted a comment on that page here. Your preferences are set (by default) to include all pages you edit on your watch list. Go to the page and click on the tab at top that says "unwatch" to remove it from the list. --Evb-wiki 02:26, 4 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

it seems to be some other cause because the Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard remains but the page keeps changing...??? and I've never been to a hockey site or any of these other sites... --Babaji108 03:11, 4 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Half the info disappeared from the page

edit

Today I spent adding information and non-related references to the Swami Shankar Purushottam Tirtha page as per suggestions, now they are all gone. Were they removed (I dont see them removed in the edit summary watch list); references to Yoga Vani and author as notable book/author; discussion of siddhayoga lineages and kundalini. If they were intentionally deleted please educate me as to why. --Babaji108 03:24, 4 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Biography question

edit

Someone posted to create a biography page for Swami Shankar Purushottam Tirtha page. My question is, do I just copy the page info into a biography page? or is something else required? --Babaji108 03:26, 4 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

September 2007

edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent contribution removed content from Siddhayoga. Please be careful when editing pages and do not remove content from Wikipedia without a good reason, which should be specified in the edit summary. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. If you would like to experiment again, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Auroranorth 13:26, 5 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

I was the one who placed the citation intitally. Today I see it was not specfically useful. The content of the section speaks of relations scriptures that speak about kundalini shakti. This scriptural quote speaks of another topic. There was confusion because of the name of the scripture is 'Siddha' - so while maybe useful, was inaccurately used here. --Babaji108 13:43, 5 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

edit

Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:Aditirtha.gif. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 07:20, 3 July 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. OsamaK 07:20, 3 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Duplicate Image:Me2.gif

edit

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Image:Me2.gif, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Image:Me2.gif is a duplicate of an already existing article, category or image.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Image:Me2.gif, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. File permission problem with File:Babasnt.jpg

edit

File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Babasnt.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the GFDL or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. MBisanz talk 01:33, 8 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Proposed deletion of File:SSadashivaT.gif

edit

The file File:SSadashivaT.gif has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

unused, low-res, no obvious use

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:02, 7 July 2019 (UTC)Reply

File source problem with File:Narayandev.png

edit

Thank you for uploading File:Narayandev.png. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next seven days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. plicit 02:12, 30 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
