Thanks for making the 3di template for I-5. I've made a few changes; I'd appreciate some comments. --SPUI (talk) 04:42, 11 Mar 2005 (UTC)
I went through all the I-95 3DIs and split the articles. It's a bit of a pain, as you have to fix all incoming links. As for redirects, part of my userpage has links for all the ones on Kurumi; most if not all of these should in theory exist when all current and former 3DIs are in. The full form since most of the pages will be there (though they should redirect to the state-less name when there's only one current or future one of that number), and the abbreviated form so you can type [[I-295 (NJ)|]] for I-295. --SPUI (talk) 06:59, 11 Mar 2005 (UTC)
I-10 3dis
editI see you've been moving stuff like Interstate 910 to Interstate 910 (Louisiana) (I'm talking about the specific case where only one 3DI has that number). I had thought about this, and eventually decided to keep it at the former, mainly because there are a lot of 3DIs that are unique and sitting happily at the former. What do you think? --SPUI (talk) 15:32, 18 Mar 2005 (UTC)
See Interstate 305 for how I handled it. --SPUI (talk) 15:40, 18 Mar 2005 (UTC)
Interstate 910 so the link is black on the page. --SPUI (talk) 18:03, 18 Mar 2005 (UTC)
Thanks for doing the moves for I-x90. Can you please move the categories when you do it? --SPUI (talk) 21:29, 18 Mar 2005 (UTC)
Whoa, didn't realize that worked. Yeah, if you don't mind doing it, that would be cool. --SPUI (talk) 16:57, 22 Mar 2005 (UTC)
Yeah, in those cases I've been keeping both on the same page; I don't see any other easy way to do it. --SPUI (talk) 18:05, 22 Mar 2005 (UTC)
I've made a few changes; what do you think? --SPUI (talk) 20:07, 1 Apr 2005 (UTC)
You can put these images together; he doesn't claim any copyright and I don't think they can be copyrighted, as an exact copy of a public domain image. --SPUI (talk) 23:30, 1 Apr 2005 (UTC)
I have listed this image on Wikipedia:Copyright problems. --SPUI (talk) 19:04, 14 Apr 2005 (UTC)
CASR infobox
editAs I've said before, I don't like the lack of legend for the colors. I'll try to make that work - give me a bit. --SPUI (talk) 08:38, 29 Apr 2005 (UTC)
How about User:SPUI/onthecaca? The 'closed' color looks a bit bright though.
And what do you think about showing the postmiles at county lines? Without those, the numbers are rather useless for continuing between counties. If you can get info on postmile equations (like at realignments), that would also be nice to include. --SPUI (talk) 09:17, 29 Apr 2005 (UTC)
No, no way for if/then stuff (unless you nest templates, which is just too complicated, and there's no reason not to simply include the two previous and next numbers as arguments). Distance between junctions seems redundant given the numbers given - just make sure you have the county line number changes and you'll be set. --SPUI (talk) 10:38, 29 Apr 2005 (UTC)
I see no real need for termini - we have that in the junction list (and probably in the main part of the article). Other that that (and the color for closed being very hard to make out) it looks good. --SPUI (talk) 16:16, 29 Apr 2005 (UTC)
Seems overkill to me - it's not necessarily my decision though. It just seems like it's better in its current form. --SPUI (talk) 01:33, 5 May 2005 (UTC)
Slap a {{db|I made it, only I edited it, and I realized it's not necessary}} or something similar on it; an admin will then delete it. --SPUI (talk) 04:04, 5 May 2005 (UTC)
- http://www.dot.ca.gov/hq/structur/strmaint/brlog2.htm This link will take you to the Caltrans Bridge Logs for every district. Just look up the county, then the route number. It features all existing route junctions. Oh, and thanks for cleaning up the infobox! It looks great! Bennyp81 23:06, May 6, 2005 (UTC)
Eh, I don't know - the whole common names thing is so full of holes anyway. --SPUI (talk) 20:18, 11 May 2005 (UTC)
It looks like a large amount of it is bloat in the table code. --SPUI (talk) 14:02, 16 May 2005 (UTC)

California highway categorization
editSee Wikipedia:WikiProject California State Highways/Strategy for recent discussion about this. There are some very strong Wikipedia consistency arguments for keeping only state routes in Category:California state highways. I just made Category:California highways for your project, so you can keep everything in one spot. -- hike395 05:20, 27 Jun 2005 (UTC)

editAs someone in Southern California, you may be interested in the relatively new Southern California WikiProject. Please take a look at the project and see if there is anything that interests you. If you have any comments or questions, please feel free to contact me.
Also: re: Talk:List of California County Routes. Please take a close look at the definition of a proper noun, plus the arguments at Talk:List of California State Routes. I suggest that the best rule of thumb in this case is: Do you use the definate article (the) or indefinate article (a or an) with "county route" or "state route". Then compare that usage with highway, freeway, avenue, boulevard, street, road, etc.

- {{Kentucky State Highway Stub}}
- {{Maryland-State-Highway-Stub}}
- {{Massachusetts-State-Highway-Stub}}
- {{Michigan-State-Highway-Stub}}

Shields
editThey are a bit big... what I would like to do is use the scenic highway sign for the scenic one (the blue one with the flower). However, I don;t know where to find one of those...and we just went through and fixed all of them to use the highway shield (although we wouldn;t have to go back and change them all). Good to see you back... --Rschen7754 (talk - contribs) 06:05, 4 December 2005 (UTC)
Uggh I don't ... sorry about that.
On another note... what do you think about all the highway capitalization debates? NJ Highways
editDoes NJ use the circle shields? If so could you please create File:Circle SR 75.png and File:Circle SR 77.png so we don't have it redlinked on Interstate 76 (east)? Thanks. --Rschen7754 (talk - contribs) 20:29, 10 December 2005 (UTC)
- The images and the renaming were done by SPUI a month ago or so... and I'm not sure if we can get the names changed back. However, I'm concerned because it seems like he is intent on changing all of the state highway articles in the U.S. to be like NJ's... and I don;t think we want that. As for the images... I see no reason to have two sets of images, and SVG is just a strange format. --Rschen7754 (talk - contribs) 22:49, 10 December 2005 (UTC)
- I'd say keep them the way they are. They';re called California State Routes, not Routes in California. --Rschen7754 (talk - contribs) 01:36, 11 December 2005 (UTC)

editI am a little sore about it but I had to go along with it. It's not as devastating as they had proposed... but then the capitalization thing started up again and I had to go do that. --Rschen7754 (talk - contribs) 01:08, 28 January 2006 (UTC)
- I think it was on the template talk page. Also the {{routeboxus}} got changed too. You might want to put {{Project U.S. Roads}} on your user page to get the latest news... yes and SVG has come... and browse state highways has been moved to the bottom on Interstate articles... and the Oregon and Iowa state highway stubs have been deleted... and NY is being proposed... and I think that's it. --Rschen7754 (talk - contribs) 01:58, 28 January 2006 (UTC)
- Well... I think they all got moved to SVG as apparently there is a image convention to use SVG for drawings and stuff. --Rschen7754 (talk - contribs) 03:41, 28 January 2006 (UTC)
