HI!

Thank you so much, I wrote Cacua language in like 4 minutes. Look at my user page I have been writing articles for lots of native language since a lot aren't covered but episodes of TV shows are! So I just started to look them up on Ethnologue one by one. I want to cover all of South America and we'll see how it goes after that. I have also translated a few into Spanish but its kinda hard especially how the infobox is much more complicated over there. I have also added the infobox to any languages that don't have one that I have come in contact with. Have any advice? Maybe you could rearange the sentences for me, I don't think I do a good job of that or of naming the sections. I don't think there's much for me to fix on the articles you've created, they all look like pretty good starts to me! For obscure subjects there is often only one reliable source to be found, but if you can find more, that would be great. You may also be skirting close to original research by synthesis, but your conclusions seem pretty uncontroversial so it's hard for me to tell especially since I'm not a linguist by any means! Revisionism & Historical revisionism

I wish to Wikipedia:Move the former into the latter! Lets talk first here (since it's a new topic). I'm willing to discuss with you this objective here, if you wish. Well, you could have done the move yourself... until you made a second edit to Revisionism after you did the page move. The software allows non-administrators to move pages over redirects only so long as the redirect only has one entry (it's creation) in it's history, see Help:Moving a page#Moving over a redirect for details. At this point you'll have to get an administrator to perform the move for you, and I suspect that since we're talking about a major article that they'll require consensus before doing so. I'll happily chip in my own opinion to the discussion you have started on the article talk page in question, though I'll reformat it in accordance with the procedure described at Wikipedia:Requested moves#Requesting potentially controversial moves. No, it was nothing you wrote on a talk page that prevented you from being able to perform the page move, rather it was the fact that made any edits to Revisionism after you did the page move. As it is explained at Moving over a redirect, a page can only be moved over a redirect if the redirect's page history only has a single entry. After you moved Revisionism to Revisionism (disambiguation), the page had such a single entry history; once you made an edit to Revisionism, however, you made it impossible for a non-administrator to perform the move you're requesting. As for contacting an administrator for you, I have already started the process by placing a listing at Requested moves and starting the discussion on the article's talk page.

Yes, there are several templates one can use to tag an article for potential splitting. They're listed at Wikipedia:Template messages/Merging and splitting. Unfortunately I'm not clear on what article you want to split.Ashanda (talk) 21:11, 27 April 2008 (UTC)

I would. Use your best discression. I only oppose Strongly the non-notability Tag. The other issues are minor. I want to keep the ALL CAPS - because I'm really kind of Quoting directly from the book - which I happen to own and have in front of me. Then I want to keep the Tags in blue to emphasize notability. Finally, the Red should also stay because these are all notable historians neglected by WP. But I only feel Stronly, like I say, on the notability issue. So I trust your judgment on the rest. Kaidan

Hello, I wish to help with the whole "Kaidan/Kwaidan" issue. I'd like to suggest that we relable the beginning part Kaidan (alt. Kwaidan) (not the title) as Kwaidan was the older spelling and not just a mistake by Lafcadio Hearn. This is only an idea, and I just wish to help because it seems the issue is quite oppinionated. I believe you are referring to this edit of mine. I really have no opinion on which spelling is to be preferred. My reason for reverting was that the title of the article shouldn't be different from how the subject is referred to in the article; although alternative spelling should be addressed in the introductory sentence. If the consensus of the regular editors of the page is that the other spelling is to be preferred, then the page should be moved to the new title along with changing the spelling within the article. I agree we souldn't have defering spellings inside an article already labelled as something. I also think Kaidan is probably the most appropriate spelling, as it appears to be the more well known English and Japanese spelling. Leopard Gecko

As clearly stated in the discussion page I cleaned up the links as there were a ton and liked to that site which has Info on the leopard gecko species and also links to all those sites on that page . First of all it is not my forum I have just visited it many times . why is it unappropiate ? I agree I may have mass promoted it at first but the forum does support leopard gecko,Tokay gecko and creasted gecko species . There are many well educated individuals there and the site links to many sites on those topics . PLease allow the link to at least stay in those 3 catigories as It was already in the tokay one for quite some time (probably a year or more) and was not removed until you did today . Its the exact same as http://www.geckofile.top-site-list.com except it is commercial because it is sponsered by a very popular crested gecko breeder . Like I told you most of us ony check wikipedia yearly to make sure its all the right info . and we link to forums like that to assist newcomers more . Hi, thanks for your effort in improving my writeups, i noticed that you marked the Naijapals article for speedy deletion, may i know why it qualifies for this? i am not too versatile with using wikipedia as a matter of fact i just discovered this is the way to exchange messages with users. Fair enough, I suppose.

The reason I leave welcome templates is to give people the links to the help and policy pages more than just to simply welcome them- I even give them to vandals ({{subst:welcomevandal}} & {{subst:welcome-anon-vandal}}) in hope that they'll "go forth and sin no more". I'd leave a personal blurb of welcome and thanks if they already had a template- something like, "Hi! Nice job on the Foo article! I really like how you described the inventor's intentions. Welcome and keep up the good work!" I figure they've already got the navigational links, so a personal bit of encouragement and praise can mean a lot.

My recent edits

Hi my recent edits on the el salvador page and academia britanica cuscatleca were contributions not advertising.

The Geogon site is a wiki about el salvador created at our school which is the academia britanica cuscatleca here in el salvador.This is the reason I added the links to the two pages.

I would appreciate it being left at the very least on the page about the school.

Thank you for writing, Mrs. Garcia. I removed the link because it appeared to be a class project site of some kind due to the "Year 7" and "Year 8". As such, it would not be appropriate for either article under our external links guideline. If it is something else than what I assume, then you need to explain what it is in the articles where you place it, otherwise it is just a meaningless link. Something like:

• geogon, El Salvador geography wiki

A link like that could be a useful addition to articles. Be sure, however, to put the link into *External links* sections and not in *References* sections. Hello and thank you for writing. All the sections I removed were word for word duplications from the college's website, my edit summaries make note of the relevant URL for each section. Wikipedia has a very strict copyright policy, such violations are not allowed and are to be removed on sight. You may certainly reconstruct the article, but you need to paraphrase your sources rather than copying and pasting from them. While you're at it, you might find some secondary sources rather than just the college's website. Articles are required to cite information from reliable sources to verify their information and prove the notability of the subject; articles that don't do this may be deleted. Hi. I do not know what you are referring to, but I can answer in a general way that no, you can't just add anything to Wikipedia even if it's referenced properly. New articles need to qualify under the notability criteria and conform to what Wikipedia is not. If you tell me what in particular you want to discuss, I can answer more fully. About the image of Dumitru Cornilescu

I copied the image from the Romanian page of Wikipedia so it cannot be an author rights violation. In addition I would say that it is a photography of public domain.

Thank you for writing. If you look at the Romanian image page, it quite clearly states that the image is indeed copyrighted and being used under the fair use doctrine. Judging for myself, I'd have to say the man looks to be about fifty years old in the photograph. Since he was born in 1891, that would place the photo in the 1940s sometime, too late to be in public domain automatically in most jurisdictions. If you have better information that proves it actually is in the public domain, please feel free to post it. If they allow it, what you should do is upload the image *locally* to the Spanish Wikipedia and assert the *fair use* doctrine. Make sure to read and follow the rules set forth for doing so on the Spanish Wikipedia- I know they can be confusing on the English Wikipedia. If you don't follow the rules they lay down, the image is likely to be deleted from there too. Thanks again for writing. Thank you for writing. I assume you mean this edit? Well to start off with, there's a little box underneath the edit window called the edit summary that you need to learn to use. None of us are working alone on the encyclopedia project and we need to communicate with others what we're doing. It is unreasonable to expect other editors to look up the URLs for all your edits, especially when you've changed a citation from a well known site like ESPN to a much lesser known source. It would also have helped if you had formatted your new citation properly so it was more obvious that it was from reliable sources like the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette and Northwest Arkansas Times — I myself like to use citation templates to get all the details right in a reference. As it was, putting in a link entitled "ESPN:Worldwide Leader in Piling on Petrino" looked a lot more like vandalism than a constructive edit — all the more reason to properly format your citation and use the edit summary like I just explained. Now I just did check out the two URLs and there I found that yours does also serve as a reference about his offensive skills, so go ahead and re-add it if you like. To reduce the chance of another editor reverting you, you should heed my advice about using the edit summary and formating your citation properly as I explained above. You can read all the details about them behind that link, but briefly subpages are created by making a link of the form ''parent page''/''subpage'' then clicking the link and creating the page. Thank you very much for improving the article! If problems have been addressed, maintenance notices may be removed. I've done this for Go Man Go (radio show) but I felt it necessary to add the {{refimprove}} template since it not only seems that there is only one reference listed, but that reference is not cited in a proper manner. Correct citation is described at Wikipedia:Citing sources, I myself find the use of the Citation templates to be of great help. Thanks again for your hard work on the article! Call out Order for antm Cycle 1, week 2

Ashanda, why do you reject the attempts made to fix the call out order. Giselle won the challenge that week, Shannon had first call out, and Kesse was in the bottom two. I had never heard of the show before I was granted the Reviewer permission. Since then I have been seeing edits over and over moving the contestants around. Since these shows aired several years ago, the contestant order obviously couldn't actually be changing. However, since none of the article's authors have provided a citation to a reliable source, I had no way to verify what the correct situation should be. I decided that the best strategy would be to maintain the status quo until somebody did come forward with references we could use. Do you have such a reference? We almost positively can't link to the video on YouTube because it's very likely to be a copyright violation, however it can still be used to fill in the other parameters of the {{cite episode}} template. All you have to do is fill in the parameters as instructed on the template's documentation page, then place it in between a set of reference tags <ref> ... </ref>. It's as simple as pie, you don't have to "go" anywhere! Just click on the template link I provided above and copy the template code onto your clipboard. The code's the stuff with the {{}} brackets on both ends in the tables with the grey background. Paste the code into your text editor (notepad, word, etc.), then fill in the fields. Instructions for what goes in each field are a little farther down on the template page, for example "title" is the name of the episode, "series" is the name of the series, "time" or "minutes" (you can use either one) will denote the time into the video the event being referenced happened, etc. (In this particular case, do not fill in the YouTube address for the URL- we can't link to copyright violations and your edit will be reverted usually pretty quickly.) Once you're done filling in the fields you can (you needn't fill in all of them) put the whole thing in between a set of reference brackets <ref> ... </ref>. Take that whole thing and copy it onto your clipboard. Go to the article and open up an edit window. Paste the filled in code into the appropriate place in the article. Use the "Preview" button to make sure nothing's messed up, then save the page. You should see a numbered superscript where you put the citation, and you will see the full citation at the bottom of the article in the "References" section. As it says there, "If you have a question, why not ask the experienced user your question? You may begin a dialogue that will prove much more effective than a template." Trouble is, dozens of such questions have been asked by as many editors, with no apparent effect. I left a disruptive1 template, but with quite a bit of additional text that shows I at least thought about it (rather than just dropping a template) and to make it a bit less impersonal.
