Edits to Reif Estate Winery

edit

Hi there. I've reverted your re-addition of content to the Reif Estate Winery article, because the new content resembled marketing copy more than encyclopedic content. Wikipedia has some fairly important guidelines regarding advertising and neutrality, and it's beneficial for all editors to have a better understanding of them. Please have a look at WP:NOTADVERTISING and Wikipedia:Neutral point of view. Ibadibam (talk) 21:59, 9 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

Reverting on the Reif Estate Winery article

edit

Your edits to this winery article has been reverted back to an early state because of several problematic issues. First off, it appears that you are closely affliated with the subject of the article which means that you should read Wikipedia's Conflict of Interest policy which will give you some important guidelines and advice on how to best proceed. One very worthwhile approach is to create a draft test page such as User:Andreaksr/Reif Estate Winery (<--just click on link to create) where you can make a proposed edits that can be reviewed and transferred over to the main space article by an uninvolved, objective editor.
Secondly, you should read up on Wikipedia's policy of using reliable, independent 3rd party sources (i.e. things not directly affiliated with the winery or their website) as footnote citations in the article. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia and not a wineguide so having neutral, verifiable facts that are cited to reliable sources is a priority.
Finally, you should review Wikipedia's Manual of Style and some of the other links suggested to you in the welcome message above. Things like creating external links in the headers and throughout the article are not only unslightly but also inappropriate since they come across as more advertisements to draw traffic to your website than as encyclopedic content.
If you have any questions feel free to ask at the Wikipedia:Teahouse which is for new users, on the Wikipedia:Conflict of interest/Noticeboard which can help you dealing with articles you are intimately connected with or at the WP:WINE project page where editors familiar with wine articles can help.
