Katharine Isabelle edit

I have studied the mosbio and associated pages, and have rewritten and restructured the KI and EP pages accordingly. It says that place of birth and nationality SHOULD be included in the opening paragraph. It does it state that after the opening name that one should use surname only, but, as with everything else, it is only a recommendation, not a hard and fast rule. Therefore the pages are in general accordance with the guidelines now - and rather good they look too. I would appreciate it if you would leave them alone now. Just so you know, I will, in turn, be expanding the Bio sections, and continue to maintain them as I have for some time now. Lost Girls Diary 02:25, 10 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Just a note to say I emailed a good number of interested parties from outwith wikipedia, and they were dismayed to hear what you are up to. They promised me they would enrol here, and would when necessary prevent you from doing your worst. I have no idea whether they enrolled or not, nor whether they will be true to their word, But I have known these people for some time, and I guess time will tell whether they are interested enough to help maintain the page in a decent fashion. The decision rests with them Lost Girls Diary 20:11, 10 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Rosie Malek-Yonan edit

Thank you for working on Rosie Malek-Yonan's page. However, I see that you've removed all links to her credits. When I first created this page, I was asked to add all links. I painstakingly went through every credit and added the IMDb links. I am going to revert those edits. Zayya 06:28, 21 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Okay, thank for that. Then I won't revert to the IMDb links. Can you please help me with the link for Rendition? This is the Wiki page I'm trying to link it to: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rendition_%28film%29 . Regards, Zayya 06:41, 21 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Ken Foree page edit

AHW, the Ken Foree wiki is an authorized version of his bio provided specifically for wikipedia by Ken himself. The Images, text and all related links have been licensed to wikipedia for use by me, his webmaster. If this editing you deem so necessary continues, I will remove all licensing to wikipedia and all articles & images. Any use of said information thereafter will be deemed copyright infringement. I have worked with Wikipedia admins closely over the past 4-6 months to create a simple clean wiki for interested individuals to gain information from, that is sourced and 100% accurate. Your changing of the order, wording or links is a direct violation of the licensing. I have looked at your contributions and it seems to me that you have taken it upon yourself to make many unnecessary changes to wikipedia pages relating to cast members of the Rob Zombie HALLOWEEN remake. I have asked you a second time now, to refrain from making any further changes, there will be no third request.DC 00:32, 30 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

No longer an issue edit

I have more than enough with those who can "change information at will" and have removed all articles related to Kens site and Biography. Create it all from scratch for all I care, but any use of information relating to the previous biography will be deemed copyright infringement as I will be sending a note of this to an admin. All licensing to Wikipedia has been revoked and I wash my hand of this waste of web space. When a celebrity must jump throgh hoops to have his wiki report accurately and on a regular basis users come forth to "make adjustments", it's no longer useful, but a waste of effort.DC 00:48, 30 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Shoot em Up punctuation edit edit

I have reverted your edit of Shoot 'Em Up, but since I do not believe your intent was to vandalize I thought I ought to explain the revert. Punctuation is place inside quotation marks in standard American English (see the article on Quotation marks to read why. It seems to me that you are following British standard rather than American, which is certainly acceptable- except BOTH standards are considered largely acceptable on Wikipedia, and switching from British to American English and vice versa simply because of personal preference is discouraged (I can dig up the relevant WP articles if you deem it necessary). One is expected to follow what the majority of the language already present in the article dictates- and thusfar, it has been American grammar for a Canadian/American production. Moving articles edit

Please do not move the contents of articles simply by cutting and pasting text from one to another as you did with Alexander Nathan Etel and Alex Etel today. This destroys the edit history, which is a major violation of Wikipedia's GFDL license. I'm not opposed to the move, but you should have used the "move" tab - although in this case it wouldn't have worked as the new name already existed, so you should have requested the move on WP:RM. It's unlikely that the move would have been opposed if you'd made a clear case for it, and an admin would have handled it for you. I shall try to straighten things out tomorrow. -- Arwel (talk) 00:54, 30 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Paul Rudd edit

In response to your edit summary of the Paul Rudd article, the reason I removed the high school info is not because the content was questionable, it was because the content had no citation or source provided. Any content that appears unsourced can be removed at any time. My reference to "unneeded info" in my edit summary was an explanation for other statements I removed, not the high school info. Either way, I have left the content in but I tagged it for references. I noticed that the source before it (an article in The Kansas City Star) does appear to have the high school information in it, but since that article can only be viewed through a paid archive, I have removed that source per WP:EL (Sites requiring registration). If you have a reliable, free source that you can add to back up the high school info, feel free to re-add it. Pinkadelica (talk) 00:36, 1 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Infobox image captions edit

I have noticed that you have added image captions to the infoboxes of several articles of individual people. Please keep in mind that the caption field is for specific information relating to the image (e.g. where/when the photo was shot, what the subject is doing, etc). The caption field is not mandatory and does not exist simply to repeat the subject's name. Just64helpin (talk) 05:35, 6 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

You can also help by going back to the articles you added these name-only captions to, since I assume you can recall which ones have them. Just64helpin (talk) 13:19, 6 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
The caption field is there for a reason, but that reason is not "to add a name redundantly". It is completely optional. Let us please discuss this without a revert war. Just64helpin (talk) 22:36, 6 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
As for your wikistalking comment, Wikipedia:Wikistalking#Wikistalking actually states that utilizing the contribution history alone is not stalking. It's not my fault all of the name-only captions were done by you, but it is quite striking that they seem to be only from you. Just64helpin (talk) 22:44, 6 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
I'll admit that replacing the name-only captions with editor notes may not be the best course of action, but it was the most efficient for me at that time. I initially added photo-specifc information to name-only captions, as I did in Tom Hanks. Unfortunately, the caption was changed back to just "Tom Hanks". I tried to explain my concern about such name-only captions, and you seemed to show indifference in the matter, so I tried something else. If you feel this is wikistalking, I will stop, but I hope you will please consider using the caption field for something useful in future edits. Adding just a name is not "wrong", but that isn't the point: the burden lies in the person adding content, not the person removing it. Since I am not the only person that objects to the name-only Harrison Ford caption, I would hope that you won't simply revert, as you seem to be suggesting. Just64helpin (talk) 23:48, 6 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
Ultimately, I do not intend to follow you (or anyone else) around to add photo-specific information each time a name-only caption is added. Instead, I would hope that you will add something more than a name-only caption during your normal course of editing. My intent was to clear out the "backlog" of these instances in an efficient matter. For example, I would not want to expand 100 name-only captions just to find 150 new name-only captions added to other articles the following day. I thank you for clarifying the Tom Hanks misunderstanding, but this still leaves open Harrison Ford, as your line "I am going to revert..." leaves me puzzled. My "burden" comment referred specifically to the Ford article. Just64helpin (talk) 01:56, 7 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
I still don't see how adding a name-only caption makes it "consistent across Wikipedia". Just having the empty field makes it consistent -- the field does not need to be filled if specific information is unneeded or unavailable. It would be like adding "someday, eventually" to the deathdate field of a living person. Just64helpin (talk) 02:46, 7 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
I still think my deathdate example fits: the subject will pass away eventually, and there is no consensus that adding "someday, eventually" is wrong. However, common sense would indicate that specifically adding this would be useless, as this information is an obvious given. In the same sense, adding "Harrison Ford" under a photograph that is unambiguously of Harrison Ford is also useless. I really don't see where this if-there-is-a-photo-we-must-caption-it-all-costs idea comes from. Just64helpin (talk) 14:00, 7 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
Oh, and to clarify: the Template:Infobox actor states that "all fields are optional". Just64helpin (talk) 15:35, 7 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
Well, I did notice the image was uploaded by Gavatron, who has had a history of image-related copyvios. I've taken a few quick glance at Google and Flickr, and didn't find any matches. Just64helpin (talk) 22:26, 7 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Jamie Lee Curtis edit

Fine and fancy citing Wikipedia Guidelines, but next time you might try actually reading them. The paragraph you continue to delete is not in violation of the WP:BLP policies, nor are the sources considered unreliable as per WP:RS (the second one, perhaps, but not the first or the last). Both sources have a solid reputation of researching their information, and both sources could be considered experts in the case of urban legends, which is exactly what the paragraph is about. The sources prove that the rumor exists and is wide-spread, and that's all that they need to prove. Neither source is, nor is required to be, an expert in the case of JLC's medical history.

I'm not going to bother fighting for it and I'll let you hide behind the "when it doubt, throw it out" policy, but all you've done is remove the honest answer to a burning question. Since you wont let me post the truth, people will continue to post the lies. More harm than good, if you ask me.

Image captions edit

Hi, I noticed you have added new name-only captions to several articles. Why? How can I hope to eliminate all of these if you keep making more? Just64helpin (talk) 02:39, 1 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Um, what? You've been adding name-only captions to articles that already had infoboxes to begin with. It seems quite deliberate. Just64helpin (talk) 10:36, 1 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
The point is that I do not wish to follow you around with a dustpan. My goal was to eliminate the name-only captions made prior to our earlier discussion, in the hope of clearing out the "backlog". My assumption is that you would make a conscious effort to add actual captions in future edits, rather than name-only uselessness, and together we would extinguish the latter throughout Wikipedia. Do you still intend to make name-only captions? I really would like some clarification on this matter. Just64helpin (talk) 18:19, 1 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Field removal edit

If a field is available in an infobox, you don't delete the contents when added to that field. You seem to be vandalizing multiple articles randomly removing things with the notation of "removing non-notable" which is a false description of what you are doing. KellyAna (talk) 23:15, 20 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Please read the description for the "Children" section over at Template:Infobox actor. It explicitly states "Insert the names of the actor's notable children, meaning those children who meet Wikipedia's notability criteria independently of this actor". All of the names I removed did not meet Wikipedia's notability criteria independetly of their actor parent. All Hallow's Wraith (talk) 23:17, 20 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
You removed CITIES AND STATES using the same edit summary. Regardless, the field is in question and you're doing more harm than good. And don't reply on my talk page. KellyAna (talk) 23:19, 20 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
I removed the birthplace from the intro paragraph per WP:MOSBIO, something I also explained on your talk page. All Hallow's Wraith (talk) 23:20, 20 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
[1] say: The opening paragraph should give, no where does it say it can't give additional info like where someone is born. Your removal of the city and state of birth is unjustified. KellyAna (talk) 23:29, 20 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
It also doesn't say that the intro shouldn't list every single credit of the actor, so what? It's implied that, aside from nationality, birthdate, and profession, the intro should only summarize the article. All Hallow's Wraith (talk) 23:31, 20 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
Implied means you're assuming what it says. That's not up to you to assume what it say. It doesn't say to remove the city, you can't use that to justify something you feel like doing by saying "it says to" when that's a complete lie. KellyAna (talk) 23:45, 20 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
I didn't say the MOSBIO "said" the city should be removed, I said that there is no basis in it for including it. All Hallow's Wraith (talk) 23:46, 20 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Edits....Biased edit

I really don't like u at all. It's really hard to get information on people's heritage especially if they have any African American heritage. Many of those sources are correct I've seen or read interviews that have been done before on some of these people. They have expressed being proud of their heritage and speak up about it. You can help me find somethings since it is ridiculously hard to find the full truth about who they are...Also since u want to start removing things I suggest you start removing their AFrican American heritage as well because you just can't say we'll they're black but they have to have proof that they are of Native American descent......P.S. I suggest you start getting on top of it before I do because you really pissed me off with your selective edits.Mcelite (talk) 22:30, 29 March 2008 (UTC)mceliteReply

Then u better start helping find some, and remove their AFrican American categories as well since those are not cited either.Mcelite (talk) 22:44, 29 March 2008 (UTC)mceliteReply

It's pretty obvious that you just don't care. You just started getting nosey about 2 weeks ago, and nobody had a problem with it at all. Ok have any ideas...Cause some of these reliable sources are biased for ex. Ebony Magazine is pretty biased. They were so ignorant they though Zoe Saldana was African American when she is Dominican-American. This is retarded.Mcelite (talk) 22:53, 29 March 2008 (UTC)mceliteReply

Well yeah you would think but when they try to get you to say ur just black or say ask an African American blah blah blah. They pushing you into saying you're just African American it biased and wrongful. They make a really big deal if you part Native American and speak about then they want blood results. It's so stupid.Mcelite (talk) 22:58, 29 March 2008 (UTC)mceliteReply

Much easier to find their African American heritage than their Native American or anything else heritage isn't it. If you're gonna add that part of their heritage then I would appreciate if you would help find the rest of who they are.Mcelite (talk) 15:54, 31 March 2008 (UTC)mceliteReply

hello. i noticed that you have gone after me making several uncommented reverts to my edits. is there something we need to talk about? --emerson7 03:28, 11 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

as with most things, 'appropriateness' is the key. there's little reason for using small fonts and dual columns for just a couple entries. the article {{reflist}}, as well as wp:foot#Resizing references both suggest necessity, i.e. lack of space.
with regard to nee, forgive me if i come off too pendantic but, nee is a parenthetical adjunct to a womans married name, thus... Barbra Jean Brolin (nee Streisand), not Barbra Jean (nee Streisand). an a example of can be found here. even still, it is indeed an affectation when the same idea can be communicated with a much simpler construction. --emerson7 04:09, 11 April 2008 (UTC)Reply
the level and degree to which you require 'consistency' is... not the basis for which articles should be edited. whatever your motivation, i am warning you to please cease your wp:stalking and wp:own behaviour, or you will be reported. --emerson7 05:20, 11 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

How Do You Feel? edit

Just because you "feel" one way or the other doesn't make you so. Some days I feel 20, some days I feel 80, doesn't make me either. Some days I feel like a Democrat, some days like a Republican, depends on the issue. Some days I feel constipated, some days the opposite. I would really like you to change your edit about Harrison Ford "feeling" Jewish. To be a "Jew" is not a religious question, it is an ethnic birth question. Like an Irishmen, a Laotian, an Arab, etc. Mr. Ford was just being funny, and saying that he "identified" with how certain Jewish people "feel" about the motion picture/entertainment industry. He agrees with how they run their business affairs and their political views. Nothing more. IP4240207xx (talk) 02:35, 12 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

And I was aware of the Geiniology page but this isn't a perfect world it is can be 'presumed' that her mother was born in Ohio as there would be no evidence to disprove. Why do you think I have added citations of two top British newspapers both say her mother is from Liverpool and furthermore why would they say she is from Liverpool if it were not true? & why say her mother left over 40 years ago (at the time) which would indicate she left in her early twenties and then met Mr Berry and had children?. Dmcm2008 (talk) 10:32, 6 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

re: above. I am five minutes into research this site http://www.dipity.com/timeline/Halle_Berry/json claims Judith Ann Hawkins is Liverpool born however mother born in Derbyshire, England while Berry's maternal grand father Earl Hawkins was an American born in Ohio. This is the second one I have found to say this. I am not leaving this text to prove or disprove I am adding info to what we have been discussing and disagreeing over. Perhaps there is some more information out there Dmcm2008 (talk) 21:36, 7 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Reflist edit

Would you kindly stop changing every instance of <references/> to {{reflist}}. Thanks. Gimmetrow 07:42, 15 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

It's "used almost everywhere you see" because tourists go around changing it for no good reason. There is no consensus to use small font for all refs. Please stop. Gimmetrow 01:02, 16 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
There used to be a criterion, 10 or less = references, 11 or more = reflist. But that was rejected by certain people who, ironically, want to disband the MOS and have editors debate everything. So now the only stable solution is for people not to screw around with optional MOS things like this, especially on articles which are mantained. I am particularly tired of tourist editors, who ought to know better, coming by articles which are 100% consistent with one option in the MOS, and changing it to some other option. Gimmetrow 01:35, 16 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
And what makes it better for you to change it? Just leave it be. Or should I go around changing every instance of reflist to references? Gimmetrow 01:48, 16 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Patti D'Arbanville Photo edit

Was the photo of Patti D'Arbanville taken by yourself? I'm concerned that there might be a copyright problem with the photo, thus I thought I'd ask you first about the picture. Thanks. --leahtwosaints (talk) 00:35, 30 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Reason I asked is that a reading of Pamela Des Barres latest book about the groupie crowd she wallowed within, included Patti D'Arbanville, and I'm certain that the reading of her book was out from Patti D'Arbanville reading of her tryst w Cat Stevens on You Tube --would you check it out for us all? Jada Pinkett edit

That's not what she meant. She's clearly not all black by her physical features alone, but anyway that's not the point. Her husband was clearly messing with her in that she has Caucasian blood. I don't have time for this mess any way and I could just clear the other 2 sources stating she's African American. She herself doesn't call herself African American in either 2 sources.Mcelite (talk) 22:53, 15 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Stacey Dash edit

Hollywood.com is used as a reliabe source quite often by Wikipedia. In addition, plenty of valid sources have no author in their articles. Sometimes the article is simply credited to the overall source, not one specific author.

And what source would you have state her ethnicity, when all the sources out there, valid or not so valid, have copied each other and say the same thing? She's most definitely of African American descent, for example, and removing her from that category is as silly as removing Whoopi Goldberg from that category. Would you I had rather added a Yahoo.com reference? I mean, really, there are no The New York Times caliber type of references out there about her ethnicity, at least not on the Internet. In fact, The New York Times biography on her mentions nothing of her ethnicity. And notice that it also does not have an author. Flyer22 (talk) 00:14, 12 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

I responded to your reply on my talk page, of course. Flyer22 (talk) 19:52, 12 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
As I stated on my talk page, I added a more valid source that not only states her African American heritage, but also confirms her West Indian and Aztec heritage (the parts of her heritage that you also wanted acknowledged). It's her Variety.com biography. I'm not sure whether Variety is copying a few less valid sites on this matter, since it does not attribute any other source to that information, but Variety itself is a very valid source/site and I'm going with them on this. It is not our job to question whether or not they copied another site. If that article were to state that they did and that site that they copied was not valid, then it would be our job to question that, as well as discard using it. Flyer22 (talk) 23:12, 17 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
Coming back to say that I do know where Variety got its source from. It says it comes from inbaseline.com, which I saw but did not know exactly what it meant and only clicked on it some minutes ago. Hmm, does this mean it's like Internet Movie Database (IMDb)? It seems to be more so for solely agents, cast, crew, actors/actresses and other important people in the entertainment industry to submit information about themselves/projects. If we cannot trust these people about their own lives, then why trust other sources about their lives who did not even ask them?
This source seems to be where all those other sites, valid and not so valid, copied some or all of this information. I kind of give up, if we should discard this source. I mean, there are hardly even valid online sources stating her as African American, and that goes for a lot of actors and actresses of any ethnicity. The big news organizations are usually not that pressed to state the ethnicity of actors/actresses and other entertainers. But, really, there is a valid source in Dash's article which talks about her brother having the first publicly traded African American-owned internet company. That's confirmation right there of her African American heritage, unless we are to assume that they are not blood-related or half siblings...where one has African American heritage but the other does not. Thank you edit

Thanks for the barnstar, I appreciate it. This was a really busy weekend, and it seemed like it took forever to upload all of those pictures and add them to their respective articles. I was so fortunate to get permission for all of those images. It's good to see so many articles that were completely lacking images to have some great ones in the infobox. Anyway, thanks again, and happy editing! --Nehrams2020 (talk) 04:28, 17 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Malin Akerman edit

Hi,

I noticed you're editing from "Swedish-Canadian" to "Canadian" in the opening sentence of the article. Children born in Sweden with Swedish parents automatically get Swedish citizenship. In the Swedish Canadian article you can read that it states "The term Swedish Canadian refers to a naturalized Canadian citizen hailing from Sweden or professing Swedish descent." Which is exactly the case here. If you were born in Sweden, with Swedish parents/family, had Swedish citizenship and then moved to and grew up in Canada, you're Swedish Canadian. No more inaccurate reverts would be nice. Regards --Nirvana77 (talk) 22:37, 7 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

I respect your editing, so this is not a warning (or even a criticism). You added YouTube as sources. My experience is that YouTube is usually challenged and removed as an unreliable source and/or as a copyright violation. But maybe you have a rationale that I'm not aware of. Ward3001 (talk) 21:57, 10 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

I personally don't have a problem with the links in this case, but I wouldn't make any bets that the links will stay in the article very long. There's actually a mention of YouTube at WP:ELNEVER, but that is equivocated some later in the page at WP:YT. Ward3001 (talk) 22:12, 10 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Sorry about the rollback, I meant to undo and give a bit of info. Some serious issues about the article and some off-wiki effects have been brought to our attention, and Alison and I have been reviewing to try to figure out how best to deal with the situation. I can't give you much more info due to the nature of the concerns, unfortunately, and I apologize for being so cryptic. If you could hold off editing the article for a bit, it would be much appreciated. Thanks, and again sorry to have rollbacked. Risker (talk) 01:40, 10 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Timothy Hutton edit

Do you have some reason to doubt the accuracy of the middle name or are you just randomly objecting because it comes from IMDB? You're right that it's not always accurate, but neither is The New York Times or any other reliable source - so why single this one out? Tvoz/talk 23:23, 15 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Ok, those are valid points, but it's not really clear when IMDB added the info - and the other edits that IP made on the article were accurate, so I'm not convinced about this. I'm ok with taking out "Tarquin" unless we can verify it, but then why keep the "T."? By the way, looking back I see I reached the same conclusion back in 2007. Tvoz/talk 08:24, 16 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
Or, maybe his middle name is Tarquin. Sometimes the simple answer is the right one. Anyway, I actually don't care all that much either way, but would like the article to be accurate of course. Tvoz/talk 08:44, 16 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

I wouldn't say that this was controversial, but it was a criticized statement by her (like that section title says). Are you against it being added back in?

Milla Jovovich edit

Hello, AHW. You again changed Jovovich's nationality to 'American', as per WP:MOSBIO. Okay, most probably you are right, but the subject is far from clear. Apart from the ludicrously long discussion in 'Montenegrin heritage' in that article's Talk Page, we have the following facts:

1) She was born in Kiev, Ukraine, which at the date of her birth (all places I mention here obey such time references) was the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic, part of the USSR.

2) Her mother (Galina Jovovich-Loginova) was born in Dnepropetrovsk, Ukraine, USSR.

3) Her father (Bogdanovitch Jovovich, "Bogich") was (presumably) born in Metohija, Kosovo, Serbia, Yugoslavia.

4) So, Milla was an Ukranian citizen by birth. She never was 'Russian', as some think.

5) She has been living in the U.S.A. (California) since she was 5 (1981), when the family moved to Sacramento. So, most probably she's an American citizen by now. Question: do Ukranian citizens lose their nationality when the adopt another one? If they do not, then...

6) WP:MOSBIO says:

"3. Nationality –
   1. In the normal case this will mean the country of which the person is a citizen or national,
or was a citizen when the person became notable."

...but it does not say what to write in case the person has more than one nationality. Which leaves open the question, should only one nationality be mentioned, or should all of them be included? And, finally, are we sure Milla is no longer an Ukranian national as well?

Blank spaces edit

Hi, again!

I wonder if you could do me a favour when you have the chance. Could you review Bishop Hendricken High School, Eamonn Roche and Wayne Lewellen (my most recent edits) in re unwanted blank spaces. I don't know why this happens since all I am trying to do is fit as many words as possible on one line without disobeying basic grammar/syntax rules such as punctuation, spacing, etc. Anyway, since you have some expertise in this field perhaps you could rectify any errors I made and give me a heads up as to what I can do to avoid this.
