Conflict of Interest

edit

  Hello, Alimarsden. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, please:

  • avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your circle, your organization, its competitors, projects or products;
  • instead propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies. Thank you.

  • If you do have a conflict of interest you can continue editing the draft but must not edit the article when it moves to the regular wiki space. See the above links for more details. LaMona (talk) 17:41, 24 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

Alison Marsden

edit

I'm assuming from the name that you are Alison Marsden; if not you should change your editor name, as misleading editor names are not allowed. In any case, your expertise in editing Wikipedia is welcome, but you should not be editing Alison Marsden. If you have changes to suggest to that article, please make them on Talk:Alison Marsden instead. Continuing to edit the article could cause it to be tagged with big cleanup-banners-of-shame as being an autobiography, or in extreme cases cause it to be nominated for deletion. Also, several of the details you have added (such as the birthdate) do not appear to have published reliable sources, which are required for biographies of living people. Personal knowledge is not acceptable; it has to be published. —David Eppstein (talk) 08:22, 19 November 2018 (UTC)Reply
