Citation request tags were placed all ofver the section back in October. After two months not one of them was fullfilled. It is simple WP policy, no citations provided after enough time has elapsed for requests, edits are removed. Arsenal triumph

I saw you revert the bitter musing of some Mexican on the Arsenal page, did you see the final? The first leg was spectacular, 114,000 in the Azteca Stadium and Arsenal took about 114 fans. They won 2-3 with some awful defending from America, I don't know how the referee sending off Castiglione (Arsenal's captain) fits into the "great CONMEBOL conspiracy".

Arsenal completely dominated the 2nd leg, I think America only had about 2 shots on target, Davino should have been sent off long before he was, and Castroman getting sent off after 1 minute on the pitch as a substitute was well funny. Overall it was America's sieve like defence that cost them, nothing to do with the refereeing, which was quirky but generally pretty good, which is normal for South American referees. America simply should have won with players like Cabanas and Insua on the pitch, but then "on paper" River Plate were the better team in the SF, Chivas in the QF, Goias in the RO16, & San Lorenzo in the preliminary round.

Anyway I hope you're going to give us a hand with the chaos when the transfer window opens, I'm gunna need it, 20 navboxes, 20 current squads and who knows how many player articles to update.

No, did not see it as I don't get much shown on cable TV except GOL TV which shows La Liga (Spain), Bundesliga and some Mexican games. I don't watch much TV anyhow as I spend a lot of time my my serious hobby (photography) and only get to watch my favorite Barcelona and Real Madrid when they show them on Saturdays. Honestly? No. Unless the official register is published in the web by the Government (I have not seen it), then anyone can say "I went to the register and saw it in the book". That's WP:OR. A movie (which I have not seen), is always subjective, especially if it is not a documentary. It is, like it or not, a work of fiction. Furthermore I met him once back in the sixties, believe it or not. I followed his career during the seventies and even remember watching the first televised World Cup (Mexico '70 - yes, I'm getting old) when he did wonders. In all this time I have never heard his name pronounced other than Edson. Maybe it is Edison, but it will take some proper proof to convince me. YMMV. The movie Pele Eterno IS a documentary, and IS NOT subjective because it DOES show his birth certificate. It cannot be possible that only published works in the Internet may be valid, neither may be valid what convices you or not. For sure you never heard his name pronounced other than Edson because Edison does not affect that much its sound. Fabregas's height

Sorry for rectifying Cesc Fabragas's height without citing a source. I believe this is the 5th or 6th time that I'm attempting to get his height information accurate. I discussed this issue multiple times or the Cesc Fabregas's discussion page. You should take a look at it.For some reason someone keeps switching his height back to 5'11 which is totally absurde. If you are a football (soccer) fan, then you should know that Fabregas is nowhere around 5'11. He is in fact 5'9" and this can be seen on his ESPN profile. So please help me solve this issue because I had enough of people who give us wrong information.

As January 1st 2008 Víctor Valdés has never played with the spanish A national team, so what you have recovered is FALSE. "Supply reliable sources" about 1 internationallity for Victor Valdés in the Spanish A national team. I'll be expecting.

About Catalonia national team I think that it could be included as it's an interesting information about his matches, as he played twice with Brazil and once with Argentina (sources: Catalonia historic matches Catalonia-BrazilCatalonia-Brazil Catalonia-Argentina Catalonia-Argentina ), and the linked article with the catalonia national team explains that it's not a FIFA member. Flags in Infoboxes

As you can see on the talk page of Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Football/Players there is a "one flag only" subcategory in which it is discussed. It is common sense that pictures - and thereby flags - are more memorable than text for a lot of people. You are taking things out of context. You are quoting a comment/question I made in July 2007 where I was shown I was in error and flags do not belong in infoboxes for places of birth/death and nationality. San Fernando, Buenos Aires

Hi Alexf, most partidos of Greater Buenos Aires have individual cities and towns and i'm working on filling in "quality data" for several Cities in Buenos Aires Province and categorising them as "Cities in Buenos Aires Province". Hi, just a quick question: you've been deleting flagicons from a number of infoboxes from articles on my watchlist (cycling articles), but I don't understand what part of the guidelines you are quoting. Your edit summary links to Wikipedia:FLAGS#Not for use in locations of birth and death, but this talks about implied nationality. Archive box

I am attempting to make a new archive box, in which there is no width parameter, and one of the few pages still using the width parameter is this one. Is there any way possible to remove the width parameter from this box? It would be greatly appreciated. {{archive box|auto=long}} will work the same as you currently have it, but wider. I've been looking through some of your contribs to see if I can find anything to help me decide how to vote in your RfA.

I like how you look up IP addresses. I wouldn't have thought of doing that. I like how you look through the contribs of a vandal and revert other stuff they've done

I wasn't aware of the "needsource" or similar template that you're using; now I know and might use it sometimes.

I have some concerns. I notice that you sometimes put progressively sterner user-warning templates on the talk page of the same user in consecutive minutes. I would think that a couple of minutes at least should be allowed for the user to notice and respond to the "you have new messages" banner. Also, in some of those cases, the user was not editing close to that time -- your warnings were about earlier edits.

When you revert older vandalsim edits, you need to remember that that's what you're doing and not put user-warning templates as if it was recent vandalism.

(a) This edit: You placed warning templates on the talk page of this anon IP (87.236.232.231 (talk · contribs)) at 11:23, 11:24 and 11:25 (UTC) on Jan. 12, (3 progressively sterner warnings in 3 consecutive minutes), but the user wasn't editing at that time (no edits between 10:53 and 14:35.)

(b) And This edit: (Re 195.229.236.211 (talk · contribs); Another user had already posted a warning after the user's most recent previous edit at 14:01 on Jan. 12. you placed warning templates at 14:10 and 14:11, marked "final warning", but they were apparently related to edits the user had done earlier, before the previous warning on the page just before your edits.

(c) On that same user's talk page, if you scroll up you see that you posted warnings a few days earlier, on January 9 at 11:10, 11:13 and 11:14, about pages Talk:Javier Zanetti, George Eliot and Bangamau. This time the user was actually editing during that time, so maybe that's OK, though they're still quite close in time. However, the user was editing Royal Rumble, as can be seen in the user contribs, not the three pages you mention in the warnings, which the user had been editing at earlier dates/times; the edit to George Eliot was nearly 3 days earlier.

(more about (c)) Among the edits you seemed to be criticizing at that time, i.e. your actions of Jan. 9 around 11:10 which may have been warning about earlier edits by the user, in this edit, (George Eliot (hist), 195.229.236.211 (talk · contribs)) you say "rvv" in the edit summary, but the user may have merely been unfamiliar with wikitext. The edits to Royal Rumble by this user also appear to me to be good-faith edits (3 edits from 11:09 to 11:13, Jan. 9); the user is apparently trying to find a link that works (having learned about double square brackets by that time, apparently). The edit to Bangarmau was merely "unsourced".

(more about (c)) So perhaps there was only one vandalism edit by this user (07:03, 9 January 2008 Talk:Javier Zanetti‎ (←Replaced page with ' == زانيتي ابراهيموفتش ==')) for your three warnings. You may not have been aware that, for example, your warning about edits to George Eliot was posted nearly 3 days after the alleged vandalism occurred.

In cases (a) and (c) above, the two users were blocked after the next edits after your strings of warnings including "final warning". I think probably they should not have been blocked at that time and probably would not have been without your warnings. In cases like this there is the possibility that some users could have been persuaded to become productive editors but are now afraid to edit Wikipedia, thinking that any changes they try to do only harm it or get them blocked.

this web page suggest that "Mick" at least, if not "Ultra Magnus", is a nickname for Stephen McManus, so the second "v" in your "rvv" edit summary seems unjustified.

Re this edit: "Incan empire" gets 40,000 google hits. It may be wrong; it may need to be reverted; but the second "v" in your "rvv" edit summary may be unjustified. You can revert vandalism without calling it vandalism -- nothing wrong with that. But when there's doubt, it's better to err on the side of not using the v-word.

To encourage you to be more careful, I'd like to draw your attention to the case of User talk:Ggggggggggggggg12, (a case you were not involved in), if you have time to look at it, where a potentially highly valuable contributor was lost to the project because of well-meaning application (or misapplication) or rules during the user's early experience with the wiki. I've been more careful myself after reading about it.

I would tend to use the gentler warning templates (test1 rather than test2) more often, but I see you do use test1 or equivalent sometimes, so that's good.

I realize that when doing a large amount of vandal-correcting there may be some mistakes. It's also important to continually learn from them and try to reduce your error rate, and I hope my comments are useful for that purpose. Here's another example -- however, it's from the time period before my post above, so it in no way indicates you're not watching for this type of error now. It's two successive vandalism warnings by you to the same user, posted at a time when the user was not active, both referring to edits that happened 9 hours earlier. this edit by you is a post of an escalating vandalism warning to user 70.176.230.220 (talk · contribs) at 12:40 on Jan. 18; however you had just posted a warning to the same user one minute earlier. Your first warning mentions article Gregor Mendel (hist), where there were no edits by anyone between 03:22 and 15:10 Jan. 18 (UTC). Your second warning mentions Sister chromatids (hist), where there were no edits by anyone since 03:22 on Jan. 18 (UTC). The user didn't do any editing between your two warnings or anywhere near that time. --Coppertwig (talk) 21:55, 21 January 2008 (UTC)

Help with Nery Castillo article

Hi, I was wondering if you be able to help me with the Nery Castillo article, I have nominated it for good article status after doing a series of edits. User:Oldelpaso then helped by providing some comments and edits to help improve it's chances. However the one remaining thing that needs some help/cleanup is the Olympiacos section. The only substantial references I can find for this are in Spanish. My spanish is very basic and while I can guess at which references may be verifying a subject I cannot verify them. I am going to attempt to re-write that section of the article this weekend, If I posted a set of links on the talk page that I think work as sources could you review them and tell me what works and what doesn't. Thanks. The point was taken then and there. I re-thought some examples and the same day of his comment started to slow down a tad and be less aggressive in AV work. I'll think twice before a block. I may have issued more warnings than needed on ocassion and will be more thoughtful now, with more responsibilities. Well, I've "Ctrl-F"'d through the past 1000 edits on AIV, and I can't find "Alexf" or "72.1.206.118" (both would turn up in the helperbot edit summary). National Parks

I've been working with other people on organizing attractions like museums, arboreta, aquaria, etc. by state, in order to create a better consistency for people to search by state for categories, and for Visitor attractions by state. I have no problem keeping things in both the national and by state level, although it is inconsistent to keep only a few national parks at the upper level and not all. There are already 4 lists of National parks:

   * List of areas in the United States National Park System
   * List of United States National Parks by state
   * List of United States National Parks by date established
   * List of the United States National Park System official units

I will just try to make sure that all the national parks are also represented in their state pages. Some states had no pages before but do have national parks in their states. Jllm06 (talk) 02:14, 25 January 2008 (UTC)

Hi Alex, Just asking you to maybe have another quick look at the block on the above user please? I was looking through it, and looked more along the lines of content dispute than vandalism. Looks like the editor had tried to engage in discussions (though in the wrong place and in the wrong manner) with the reporting editor, which is what sent him to AIV. I think it just needs a quick pointer in where the talk page is and discuss before editing/reverting. Yes, I had seen a couple of his earlier edits today from work. It caught my eye and took a quick look at the first two I saw. Problem with warning templates

I want to run this thought by some of the admins who monitor AIV before I present it more widely.

When we revert vandalism by someone who already received a level 4 warning, any other warnings make it seem like, "Oh, we didn't really mean it when we said that was your last warning," like the parent who says, "This is the last time I'm going to tell you" five times before taking action. What about something like this:[2]. I'd like some feedback on this as a possible template for non-admins to use when they revert past a level 4 warning. Thanks. Vandalism

I'm trying to report vandalism, not sure how to do it. Anyways I saw your name on the list so I thought I would inform you. The vandal is User:Deacon_of_Pndapetzim.

Here was his comment on the edit summary.

"turn into dab page ... this page just duplicates previous pages, and carries the misleading implication that anything called "Great Britain" has a legal existence."

He page blanked and turned List of Roman Catholic dioceses of Great Britain into a disambiguation. The user then proceeded to empty the entire category, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Roman_Catholic_dioceses_in_Great_Britain which was subsequently deleted. I have finally reverted all the vandalism and restored the Category. This was all done 5 days ago, and I just now saw the vandalism. Benkenobi18 (talk) 02:26, 30 January 2008 (UTC)

re User:Amythystdragon block

It was a bit of a hunch, and I may be wrong in which case... the editor will continue and get indef blocked next time. However, I noted that the first comment of their talkpage was that an article they created, "Animals of finland", was being deleted. Since they were vandalising Fauna of Finland I reasoned that they were upset by having their article deleted - and were taking it out on the existing one. I am gambling that after a period of reflection they might regret their reaction, and they may decide to start contributing - after all, this is an editor who created an account and created a fairly ambitious article. If I'm right then WP may yet get a great contributor, and if I'm wrong then an indef block is delayed by a day.

Thank you very much for blocking 70.81.138.145. This editor apparently has something against me and it all started from a talk page where I apparently made a comment he/she didn't agree with. From then on, I've had nonsense posted on my talk page and my user page was vandalized. This user will likely keep vandalizing once the 48 hour block is lifted just to let you know. The user is very persistent, however so I am I, and I won't hesitate to report any vandalism from this address again.

If you have proof that there are copyright violations, go ahead and bring it up in the article's Talk page, and if possible, point to the URL where the material was lifted from. OK. I took a quick look. I see somebody has already changed the CSD to Prod. As a settlement or village it is not correct to do CSD. If it is a real village in the legal sense in the area/district/state/province, whatever, then it is notable by default. Took a look. First of all, there's not enough reason for a page protection. There is another IP user that is saying that the 7th goal was attributed to Cannavaro. If you believe otherwise, find reliable sources to support your position and quote them.
