editHi, your nomination Reaganomics for deletion was clearly a bad faith nomination especially as you vandalized the article at the same time. If you continue to do this you will likely be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Please stop. Thanks, Gwernol 15:35, 12 May 2006 (UTC)
- I did not vandalize the Reaganomics page. I was using Lupin's anti-vandal tool and it popped up. See here for why. Please do not scurilously accuse me of vandaliam. Alethiophile 15:39, 12 May 2006 (UTC)
- This is your edit: [1] you replaced the article with vandalism text and nominated it for AfD. It looks like wht you did was see an earlier vandal's attack on the page and decided to send it to AfD. This is entirely the wrong process - you should have reverted the vandalism, not repeated it and used it as an excuse to nominate the article for AfD. Gwernol 15:42, 12 May 2006 (UTC)
- I found the page the way it was. I did not know what was in the page before the vandalism and I had no way to revert it, so I nominated it for AfD. Perhaps I did the wrong thing in that, but that does not mean I vandalized it. Isn't Esperanza supposed to make life easier for people? Alethiophile 18:21, 12 May 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks for the reply on my talk page. It does appear that you accidentally replaced the entire content of the article with vandalism while trying to nominate it for deletion. I noted this on the AfD discussion. However you still made a fairly significant error in nominating this article for deletion. It takes one click on the History tab of an article to check to see if its contents are vandalism or not. AfD is a serious process and you should be absolutely sure of what you are doing before nominating an article. The vandalism that you saw had taken place less than a minute before you started to nominate the article and was gone before you had typed in the nomination.
- It is not true that you cannot rollback vandalism. Please see revert for detailed instructions on how to do this. There are also tools available to help you automate the process - see WP:RCP for more details. I'm sorry if all this comes off as harsh, but the reality is that you've had problems with mis-nominating articles to AfD before and it is an important process that should not be abused, even in error. Good luck, Gwernol 18:31, 12 May 2006 (UTC)
Please do not remove afd notifications from articles. If you wish to vote or comment, please visit the article's entry. Dbinder 18:28, 1 February 2006 (UTC)

Longest non-Medical Word
editFor the record, the word is "Hippopotamonstrasesquipedeliophobia". And it is only the longest by virtue of having the most ridiculous Greek prefix ever ("Hippopotamonstra-" ~ "really, really"). âCuiviénen, 01:08, 11 March 2006 (UTC)
- Hippopotomonstosesquipedliophobia has been proposed for deletion. Please see WP:WINAD for relevant guidelines and improve the article if possible. NickelShoe 05:07, 14 March 2006 (UTC)

Welcome to Esperanza!
editWelcome, Alethiophile, to Esperanza! As you might know, all the Esperanzians share one important goal: the success of this encyclopedia. Within that, we then attempt to strengthen the community bonds, and be the "approachable" side of the project. All of our ideals are held in the Charter, the governing document of the association.
Now that you are a member you should read the guide to what to do now or you may be interested in some of our programs. A quite important program is the StressUnit, which seeks to support editors who have encountered any stress from their Wikipedia events, and are seeking to leave the project. So far, Esperanza can be credited with the support and retention of several users. We will send you newsletters to keep you up to date. Also, we have a calendar of special events, member birthdays, and other holidays that you can add to and follow.
In addition to these projects, several more missions of Esperanza are in development, and are currently being created at Esperanza/Proposals.
I encourage you to take an active voice in the running of Esperanza. We have a small government system, headed by our Administrator general, Celestianpower, and guided by the Advisory Committee comprised of JoanneB, Freakofnurture and Titoxd. The next set of elections will be in June, and you are more than welcome to take part, by voting or by listing yourself as a candidate.
If you have any other questions, concerns, comments, or general ideas, Esperanzian or otherwise, know that you can always contact Celestianpower by email or talk page or the Esperanza talk page. Alternatively, you could communicate with fellow users via our IRC channel, #wikipedia-esperanza (which is also good for a fun chat or two :). If you're new to IRC, you may find help at an IRC Tutorial. I thank you for joining Esperanza, and look forward to working with you in making Wikipedia a better place to work!
Cheers! Sango123 (e) 19:11, 21 May 2006 (UTC)
- I think Sango123's welcome above has answered the question you left on my talk page. If not, feel free to ask me about something specific. âCuiviénenT|C, Sunday, 21 May 2006 @ 23:24 UTC
File:Atlanticpuffin4.jpg | Hello Alethiophile. Thank you for your support and gracious comment at my request for adminship which ended at the overwhelming and flattering result of (160/1/0), and leaves me in a position of having to live up to a high standard of community expectation. You can see me in action and observe what then happened as a result. If you need admin assistance, feel free to ask me. Naturally, if I make any procedural mistakes, feel free to point them out. I look forward to working with you in the future, hopefully as an admin. Enjoy your Colorado summer. Blnguyen | Have your say!!! 03:14, 31 May 2006 (UTC) |
- Hello Alethiophile. If you look at the link in his signature, it will show that he is User:Anwar saadat but signs as Anwar. This is because his real name resembles Anwar Sadat, a president of Egypt back in the 1970s who was assassinated by a group called the Muslim Brotherhood because he did a peace deal with Israel. You can see all the stuff there, and also in the archives of WP:AN/I and WT:INWNB. Blnguyen | Have your say!!! 01:39, 1 June 2006 (UTC)
Transclusion
editYo. Thanks for reading my proposal on the user space. For your information, "transclusion" is the act of referencing and rendering an included template in a document. It's the most correct term for how our template system works. It's a wiggy word for a wiggy way of doing things. Also, Ceiling Cat is watching you... Happy editing! - Corbin Be excellent 04:23, 3 June 2006 (UTC)
Oh, sorry. Um, transclusion is when you include a template by brackets, like {{welcome}}. Later! - Corbin Be excellent 20:44, 5 June 2006 (UTC)

A short Esperanzial update
editAs you may have gathered, discussions have been raging for about a week on the Esperanza talk page as to the future direction of Esperanza. Some of these are still ongoing and warrant more input (such as the idea to scrap the members list altogether). However, some decisions have been made and the charter has hence been amended. See what happened. Basically, the whole leadership has had a reshuffle, so please review the new, improved charter.
As a result, we are electing 4 people this month. They will replace JoanneB and Pschemp and form a new tranche A, serving until December. Elections will begin on 2006-07-02 and last until 2006-07-09. If you wish to run for a Council position, add your name to the list before 2006-07-02. For more details, see Wikipedia:Esperanza/June 2006 elections.
Thanks and kind, Esperanzial regards, —Celestianpower háblame 16:00, 23 June 2006 (UTC)

editHey Aleth, regarding your talkpage, as Wikiplomacy is gone, would you be ok with me deleting your user subpage on the topic? RE:Coffee Lounge MFD
editNot only was there a large consensus to delete on the MFD page, but on the overhaul page. Now the next step is to discover what to do with the coffee lounge. Again, look at the Overhaul page for plans and propositions. If the coffee lounge was the only thing that attracted you to Esperanza, or Wikipedia in general, than I suggest that you reconsider your priorities. DoomsDay349 20:12, 18 November 2006 (UTC)
- About civility, I was being civil, if I came across as cold or harsh it was not intended. All my responses can't be silver-tongued masterpieces :). If you really want, request undeletion, though I doubt it'll be granted. Instead, I would move on and discuss the next step on the overhaul page. DoomsDay349 22:44, 18 November 2006 (UTC)
I concur with what DoomsDay349 said. If even Esperanzians agree to delete the Coffee lounge, there is no point in keeping it around anymore (somewhat like a {{db-author}} request? :-) ). If you want to appeal my deletion, you can do so on deletion review although judging from what I saw from the Coffee lounge overhaul page, the majority don't want the old one kept. Your VandalProof Application
editDear Alethiophile,
Thank you for applying for VandalProof! (VP). As you may know, VP is a very powerful program, and in fact the just released 1.3 version has even more power. Because of this we must uphold strict protocols before approving a new applicant. Regretfully, I have chosen to decline your application at this time. The reason for this is that at this time you do not meet the minimum requirement of 250 edits to mainspace articles (see under main here). Please note it is nothing personal by any means, and we certainly welcome you to apply again soon. Thank you for your interest in VandalProof. Daniel→♦ 12:04, 9 August 2007 (UTC)
