Your edit to Malcolm X
Hi. I saw that you changed Malcolm X to say that Attallah Shabazz is "incorrectly reported to have been named after Attila the Hun". I'm wondering why you think the reports are incorrect. In his autobiography, Malcolm X wrote "Attallah, our oldest daughter, was born in November 1958. She's named for Attila the Hun (he sacked Rome)." Malcolm X was wrong about the historical Attila—he invaded Italy but didn't sack Rome—but I imagine he knew for whom he and his wife named their daughter. Betty Shabazz's biographer, Russell J. Rickford, also writes that Malcolm X borrowed Attallah's name from Attila the Hun.
In a 1992 interview, Attallah Shabazz said she was not named after Attila, but instead her name was Arabic for "the gift of God". And we cite that alternative possibility in Malcolm X as well. Like I said, if you've got further information that the article is incorrect, I'd like to know because I'd like it to be fixed. Thank you. — Malik Shabazz Talk/Stalk 22:59, 22 February 2016 (UTC)
- I based that edit on the source that reports Attallah's statement that she was not named after Attila. But you're right, if her mother says she was, then she was. Thanks for contacting me about it.
- Attallah is also correct, though, in saying that Attallah is an Arabic name unrelated to the name Attila. So Malcolm and Betty seem to have been misinformed when they chose their daughter's name.
- I'm concerned that tossing out parentheses about the couple naming two of their daughters after medieval warlords might be undue emphasis without more context. The context might belong in articles about the daughters; something I guess about the historical myths disseminated within the Nation of Islam at the time. I'm assuming that Elijah Muhammad taught that Attila and Kublai were in some sense Muslim heroes, or at least enemies of the depraved whiteman. With or without context, though, few readers are going to think that Attila and Kublai are appropriate namesakes for girls. So the parentheses seem to demand more explanation if they are left in.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

Attention: WikiProject African diaspora participants
Hello fellow project participants. Not sure how many users are still active as normal Wikipedia editors but felt the need to attempt to get a gauge on who can be called on for help with articles falling under the umbrella of the African diaspora project. According to the project's article table there are over six thousand articles related to the African diaspora; there's not a hundred at FA/GA grade and there's over twelve hundred that are unassessed. With Wikipedia being one of the major information reference points in the world today we should consider this unacceptable. Much work needs to be done on the rating of the importance of articles as well. With more communication amongst participants and a dedication to addressing the articles on the to-do list I believe we can make this WikiProject one of the most well organized and thorough on the site. If you are interested in collaborative work with some of your fellow project members, have certain expertise on any particular subjects, ideals on/about the WikiProject, etc. simply drop your name under the "Project revision" section I've created on the project's talk page and state your intentions and main points of interest in our WikiProject and we can attempt to move forward from there. - I’m surprised because I thought the article had been deleted already. I abandoned work on it when another editor pre-empted by publishing an article on the same subject. I thought that meant my draft was “done” and needed no further attention. Then I got notices last spring that it was a candidate for speedy deletion, and it was redlinked by the time I got the news. It’s still redlinked now.

@Alarob: There are many websites about Titus Müller, but he's problemly not in English. But he does have translators helping him to translate his books. Mess resulting from Tellico move
If I understand correctly you moved Tellico to Tellico to Tellico (software) and then created a redirect at Tellico. In doing so checking what links here at Tellico over a hundred articles now brokenly point at the incorrect page. Would you care to fix this please. Thankyou. - It looks like most if not all of the problem has to do with Template:KDE which has a link to the Tellico software article. Because the template appears on many pages, those pages are shown as linking to Tellico. I have corrected the template, but "What links here" will need some time to catch up. If you follow the edit link to some articles and search for "Tellico" you'll see that the word is not found.

AfroCine: Join the Months of African Cinema this October!
Greetings!
After a successful first iteration of the “Months of African Cinema” last year, we are happy to announce that it will be happening again this year, starting from October 1! In the 2018 edition of the contest, about 600 Wikipedia articles were created in at least 8 languages. There were also contributions to Wikidata and Wikimedia commons, which brought the total number of wikimedia pages created during the contest to over 1,000.
The AfroCine Project welcomes you to October, the first out of the two months which have been dedicated to creating and improving content that centre around the cinema of Africa, the Caribbean, and the diaspora. Join us in this global edit-a-thon, by helping to create or expand articles which are connected to this scope. Also remember to list your name under the participants section.
On English Wikipedia, we would be recognizing participants in the following manner:
- Overall winner (1st, 2nd, 3rd places)
- Diversity winner
- Gender-gap fillers

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
