Main page - Did you know

Wikipedia:Did you know... is a section you can see on the Main Page. Wikipedia:Did you know (WP:DYK) is the project page for the "Did you know" section.

The DYK section showcases new or expanded articles that are selected through an informal review process. It is not a general trivia section. For the discussion page see WT:DYK.

Beginners should consult this Did You Know glossary if they don't understand any of the terms used. Beginners may like to start by looking at a summary of our many rules: this provides links to pages with more detailed explanations (which in turn may link to even more detailed pages).

Please stop updating the Arihant image edit

Hi, Can you please discuss why you are updating the Arihant image? Your first edits were reverted and yet you redid them without explanation. Is there a specific reason. Both images look the same to me. Thanks. Adamgerber80 (talk) 20:24, 9 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

for example
(talk page stalker) Adamgerber80, Hi, they are updating jpg version of image with svg one. Having svg images for such diagrams is always preferred as svg's are scalable and doesn't degrade quality on zooming. ‐‐1997kB (talk) 17:30, 10 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
@1997kB: Yes while that is ideal, the user has downloaded the jpg from an existing image and uploaded it as a svg falsely claiming it as own park. I think we need to fix that before we start using that image. Thanks. Adamgerber80 (talk) 20:18, 11 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

August 2020 edit

  Hello, I'm Materialscientist. I wanted to let you know that I reverted one of your recent contributions —specifically this edit to European Golden Shoe—because it did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Help desk. Thanks. Materialscientist (talk) 12:53, 5 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

Error in script (resposting) edit

Hello! When I tried to use the script, my close didn't post on WP:ANFRC. Instead, my close posted on what looks like a redirect page for ANFRC:[2] Dr. Swag Lord (talk) 20:27, 3 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

@Dr. Swag Lord: Fixed. Ajbura (talk) 03:15, 5 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
Ajbura, Thanks it works! Dr. Swag Lord (talk) 21:07, 5 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

Script error edit

The script error is unfortunately persisting where trying to list a discussion just causes Wikipedia to freeze when I click the submit button and crashes all my Wikipedia tabs. Is there a way to fix the error and/or improve the error handling? {{u|Sdkb}}talk 16:37, 12 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

@Sdkb: Could you give me the exact error from console log or steps to reproduce it? Ajbura (talk) 13:29, 13 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

I'm experiencing the same issue. Where would I find the console log? ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 18:43, 21 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Blaze Wolf: See this. Ajbura (talk) 01:51, 22 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
Unfortunately that's been disabled on my Chromebook so I can't help you out much. The exact steps to reproduce it are, go to the talk page of the discussion, click more, click ANRFC lister, click on List on ANRFC, choose anything in the dropdown menu, click submit, and then the tab just freezes. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 01:55, 22 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Blaze Wolf: I did that but it doesn't happen for me, also someone listed the discussion on 20[1] so script is working. I think there's something specific happening with your accounts. Maybe another script interfering or something, which I don't know about. Ajbura (talk) 02:06, 22 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
Maybe. I'll do some testing on my alt (possibly) to see what scripts might be interfering. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 02:10, 22 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

i am experiencing the exact same issue. lettherebedarklight, 晚安, おやすみなさい, ping me when replying 11:49, 11 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hi Ajbura. What a great idea for a script. I hope you don't mind, but I went ahead and fixed it up. User:Novem Linguae/Scripts/anrfc-lister.js. @Blaze Wolf, @Sdkb, feel free to uninstall the old one, install this new one, and give it a try. Happy editing :) –Novem Linguae (talk) 11:17, 8 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Novem Linguae: It's been so long since I posted that and I've forgotten what the script even does or why I wanted it in the first place lol. ― Blaze WolfTalkblaze__wolf 12:07, 8 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
It adds RFCs that need closing to WP:ANRFC. –Novem Linguae (talk) 12:09, 8 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
That was a quick reply. Ah I see. I probably won't be closing any RFCs anytime soon but I'll keep the script in mind. ― Blaze WolfTalkblaze__wolf 12:11, 8 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
Much thanks, Novem! {{u|Sdkb}}talk 16:16, 8 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
Also, @Novem Linguae, the venue's name has changed from ANRFC to Closure requests (to help clarify that not only admins can be closers), so some of the script's wording might benefit from updating. Cheers, {{u|Sdkb}}talk 16:21, 8 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
