Speedy deletion nomination of File:Wes Nichols.jpg edit

A tag has been placed on File:Wes Nichols.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a file licensed as "for non-commercial use only", "no derivative use", "for Wikipedia use only", or "used with permission"; and it has not been shown to comply with the limited standards for the use of non-free content. If you agree with the deletion, there is no need to do anything. If, however, you believe that this image may be retained on Wikipedia under one of the permitted conditions then:

  • state clearly the source of the image. If it has been copied from elsewhere on the web you should provide links to: the image itself, the page which uses it and the page which contains the license conditions.
  • add the relevant copyright tag and if necessary, a complete fair use rationale.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. January 2018 edit

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), such as at Draft talk:Wes Nichols, please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button (  or  ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. Drm310 🍁 (talk) 17:29, 15 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

Hi, I haven't been employed at MarketShare been since 2016 (I was let go in a round of layoffs after the company was acquired). Wes is no longer there either--as I noted in the prior version of the bio, he's now at investment firm Upfront. (You can see Wes's current bio at Upfront, which clearly refers to Wes's relationship with MarketShare in the past tense: https://upfront.com/team/#wes-nichols). We are trying to get a page up about Wes--who has genuinely been a highly influential businessperson in the fields of marketing and marketing analytics--but we're not trying to send business to MarketShare. Look, I'm really sorry I didn't properly document my relationship with Wes, but I'm not trying to hide anything--I wrote out clearly that I have a professional relationship with him and that writing his Wikipedia entry is part of that relationship. I'm new at Wikipedia editing and I supposed I'm confused about the ins and outs of protocol, but I'm also trying to follow the rules. I hope you can see that. Thanks, Abe Mezrich / AbeAbeModiin AbeAbeModiin (talk) 15:33, 25 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

Given your very obvious conflict of interest, it is unlikely that anyone is going to unblock you to allow you to write about Mr Nichols. If you want to edit Wikipedia again, you will need to give us some idea about what sort of topics you would like to edit instead. Yunshui  08:58, 26 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
