Hello. Please do not add false information to Wikipedia articles, as you did with this edit to Scott Peterson. The source you cited does not say that the death penalty was "abolished" in California. If read the first line of that New York Times article, you'd see that it says "Gov. Gavin Newsom announced a moratorium on capital punishment on Wednesday, granting a temporary reprieve for the 737 inmates on the state’s death row..."
