Report moved to WP:ANI edit

Hi 79.109.111.97,

thank you for the report. Since WP:AIV is for reporting obvious vandalism, I have moved the report to Wikipedia:Administrators'_noticeboard/Incidents#Kingsif_reported_by_79.109.111.97. Feel free to join the discussion.

Best regards,
~ ToBeFree (talk) 00:52, 30 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

Antoni Gaudí edit

The article clearly shows he is notable for Catalan architecture. It makes sense he is is described as being from that region. Ifnord (talk) 14:29, 30 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

Gaudí was Spanish, their nationality is not catalan or Barcelona. To say otherwise is like saying that Obama is Hawaiian instead of American. 79.109.111.97 (talk) 14:32, 30 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

If a person was notable for being Hawaiian, with educational focus on Hawaii and works that involved primarily Hawaiian subjects, it makes sense to call them Hawaiian. Obama is notable for being the president of the country. Your mission to remove regions from multiple biographies and replace it with a simple Spain appears targeted. Ifnord (talk) 14:36, 30 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

Following the example does not appear to comply with Hawaii. Governor David Ige "American politician", Lieutenant Governor Josh Green "American politician". 79.109.111.97 (talk) 14:48, 30 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

Israel Kamakawiwoʻole, Bumpy Kanahele, Kawaipuna Prejean, Noenoe Silva, Haunani-Kay Trask... Ifnord (talk) 14:56, 30 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Ifnord: After being warned on en.wiki, this IP proceeded to pull the same move at es.wiki (global contributions). I ask if you know of a wikimedia reporting system for someone clearly disruptive? (posting here so the IP can see the message) Kingsif (talk) 22:24, 30 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Kingsif, Ifnord, and 79.109.111.97: Global b/locks may be requested at m:SRG. Be advised that the level of disruption neccesarry to cause a request there to be acted upon is considerable. Spectrum {{UV}} 2604:2000:8FC0:4:68BA:3B32:8613:8B6D (talk) 19:17, 31 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

March 2020 edit

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Armand de Fluvià; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Ifnord (talk) 14:30, 30 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits referred to above, consider creating an account for yourself or logging in with an existing account so that you can avoid further irrelevant notices.

Making POV accusations against me edit

Hi, IP 79, or whichever logged out SPA user you apparently are. At WP:ANI, you accused me of maybe the vandalism with such behavior are you and that [my] edits are deliberately misleading due [to] catalonian independentist ideology. I shall assume you mean "maybe the editor showing vandal-like behavior is you" for that first one. But, see, if I was trying to be deliberately misleading due [to] catalonian independentist ideology, my editing behavior would be much different, I'd be the kind of editor like you are, going around all Barcelona-born bios and changing 'Spanish' to 'Catalan'. But I'm not. In fact, I wrote the bio for Georgina Amorós – actress born in Barcelona, became famous for a Catalan TV show, only took part in a Spanish TV show tour when it was in Catalonia and the Basque country – and describe her as "a Spanish actress" in said article. If I was anything like your claim, I would have plenty of reason to use 'Catalan' in that one. None of my editing behavior is wrong, please look at your own obvious anti-Catalan beliefs before slinging such accusations. Kingsif (talk) 17:41, 30 March 2020 (UTC)Reply
