May 2018 edit

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 6 months for persistent vandalism. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.

See {{anonblock}}. Escalation from the previous 3-month block. EdJohnston (talk) 16:11, 11 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

I immediatley undid my edit to the page "Mass Killings under Communist Regimes" (it may look as though EdJohnston undid it, but I suspect that is merely because he saw it first and was quicker to act) and I didn't even mean to make the edit. It was a mere accident. If I must be momentarily blocked, then I would accept it and understand. Just, please lessen the time. It's not even hard to undo edits. I am sorry. 66.186.97.26 (talk) 16:26, 11 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

There's a long history of vandalism stretching back more than four years. And your claim, "It's not even hard to undo edits", shows we should be extending the block here rather than considering lifting it. You are profoundly missing the point. Yamla (talk) 16:32, 11 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Actually, yes. I'm extending the block. This is running proxy software. --Yamla (talk) 16:34, 11 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

The IP address that you are currently using has been blocked because it is believed to be an open or anonymizing proxy, such as a VPN service. To prevent abuse, these proxies may be blocked from editing Wikipedia.

If you are using an open proxy or VPN service, you will need to disable it or turn it off in order to edit Wikipedia.

If you believe you are not using an anonymizing proxy, the most likely cause is that another customer using your IP address who was previously assigned this IP address was running an open proxy. You may appeal this block by adding the following text on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Caught by an open proxy block but this host or IP is not an open proxy. My IP address is _______. Place any further information here. ~~~~}}. You must fill in the blank with your IP address for this block to be investigated. Your IP address can be determined here. Alternatively, if you wish to keep your IP address private you can use the Unblock Ticket Request System.

More rarely, your network equipment or that of your service provider may be misconfigured or compromised by malicious software (such as a virus). For more information, see the WikiProject on Open Proxies.

Administrators: The IP block exemption user right should only be applied to allow users to edit using an open or anonymizing proxies in exceptional circumstances, and they should usually be directed to the functionaries team via email. If you intend to give the IPBE user right, a CheckUser needs to take a look at the account. This can be requested most easily at SPI Quick Checkuser Requests. Unblocking an IP or IP range with this template is highly discouraged without at least contacting the blocking administrator.

Request reason:

What other major instance of vandalism have I been involved with? Is changing "mythology" to "paganism" or "religion" considered vandalism? I have only had this computer since the start of the school year in 2017, for this is a school chromebook that is used by a person for one year and then passed on to the next. Also, the proxy is 192.110.165.90 and I am using it to unblock YouTube so that I can listen to blocked music in my school. 66.186.97.26 (talk) 16:39, 11 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

See below. I am declining your unblock request because it does not address the reason for your block, or because it is inadequate for other reasons. To be unblocked, you must convince the reviewing administrator(s) that

  • the block is not necessary to prevent damage or disruption to Wikipedia, or
  • the block is no longer necessary because you
    1. understand what you have been blocked for,
    2. will not continue to cause damage or disruption, and
    3. will make useful contributions instead.

Please read the guide to appealing blocks for more information. -- Dlohcierekim (talk) 17:30, 11 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

Only request one at a time. PS too much vandalism from this IP. I think you just admitted to using a proxy. see above -- Dlohcierekim (talk) 17:23, 11 May 2018 (UTC) -- Dlohcierekim (talk) 17:30, 11 May 2018 (UTC)Reply
