Response from my talk page edit

Hi, typically I would answer your question on my talk page but I'm not sure we can effectively ping an IP address. I would encourage you to get a Wikipedia account but I also understand why some do not. I'm leaving your conversation on my talk page incase any of my tp stalkers want to chime in. I will repost your statement below and try to parse through it and help you as much as I can. However, First things first, welcome to Wikipedia. Secondly, I'm going to post some links below to some helpful information and tips for beginners. Wikipedia is quite complex to navigate in the beginning. It's why we normally caution new editors to take a little time and get acclimated by following other experienced editors and learning the nuances. --ARoseWolf 12:51, 15 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

From my talk page:

Hi there!,

Sorry if this is extra I just found a page on here that I want to share with someone who knows a bit more about this big project than me. I found you via stumbling into the PumpkinSky Award wikipage then Phaedriel then Gerda Arendt's talk page but not knowing how to reach out to her and then seeing your comment thanking her for her work and then seeing your user page mention your desire to honor your indigenous family and ancestors and your wiki philosophy and then also reading the wikipedia principles by hammersoft that you shared (thank you).

So with that context out of the way: I made a really messy post on the talk page for this "nonexistent article" (I can't include screenshots bc I don't have a wiki account yet so I'll just copy text). I'm sorry if you already know about it or if its a waste of time to you...the way I found it just seemed significant to me and maybe you know someone on here that this page might be of use to?

TEXT FROM THE ARTICLE:

Universal Automatic Computer Wikipedia does not have an article with this exact name. Please search for Universal Automatic Computer in Wikipedia to check for alternative titles or spellings. You cannot create this article. You may need to log in or create an account and be autoconfirmed to start this page. Alternatively, you can use the Article Wizard, or add a request for it. Search for "Universal Automatic Computer" in existing articles. Look for pages within Wikipedia that link to this title.

LINK TO THE ARTICLE: [link as a link to a wiki page that "does not exist"]UNIVAC link to an external web page that does exist?

COPY OF WHAT I PUT ON THE TALK PAGE FOR THE ARTICLE: this is written as a narrative style post. idk how to code and i dont have a wiki account. I just look up the etymology of words for fun and fell down a rabbit hole that feels fun to play around in. open source AI huh. well lets open up that pandoras box lol. the word lemma is related to quechua 'llama' is related to the hebrew word for 'WHY' and I believe the quechua page for wik'una (also the name for a llama like animal?? I think???) links to the word vicuna (with a tilde over the n, my laptop just doesn't currently support accent marks) the page for the word vicuna lists an anagram for vicuna: UNIVAC. The UNIVAC page says that UNIVAC stands for: UNIVersal Automatic Computer

clicking UNIVAC took me to a "non-existent" (it exists and works as a link its just kinda blank. in my humble opinion it would be fun to have the UNIVAC page include a link to create a wikipedia account and how to understand wikipedia editing/posting guidelines for newbies)

My signature/sign off is below and includes my personal political opinions. I would really like to believe that there is a moral arc to the universe and that it has the option to move towards therapuetic empathetic justice. Sorry if thats messy to talk about so blatantly. I will post my breakdown below this line. --ARoseWolf 12:51, 15 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

  • Don't worry about making mistakes (WP:BOLD) as long as you are willing to accept advice, which appears to be the case, and as long as you are remaining civil (WP:CIVIL). If you decide to make an edit and it is reverted then please follow policy (WP:BRD) and go to the article talk page. This will save everyone time and keep the conversation where it should be to maximize participation. To try and answer your specific statements above, it does not appear there is an article with this name but it does appear you tried to create a draft for it. The main concern with the created draft was that it had no in-line references and had no reliable sources. If you look at the links I will provide below what I am saying will make more sense to you. I believe that your ideas are important and valid. I am not sure what the appropriate venue is to discuss your idea for the UNIVAC article but I will try to locate what venue and point you in that direction. I read over your statement on the talk page. If it is not appropriate to be there then someone will clean it up. Never apologize for your personal beliefs. I have made tons of mistakes during my brief time here so don't get discouraged. Almost everything you may do can be fixed. Ask questions if you need to know something or it doesn't make sense, just like you did on my talk page. Most importantly, don't take offense too easily. I have met editors from all walks of life. The one thing that binds us together is that we all are here to improve/expand the encyclopedia but do so according to policy as best we can. No one should be targeting you and for the most part no one will, not if they are an editor in good standing. I will never turn you away and if you ever want to discuss personal opinions that may be related to Wikipedia but not specifically about it then you can always email me or reach me on my talk page. I am open to dialogue and discussion. --ARoseWolf 13:20, 15 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
