The citations you didn't like do talk about libertarianism, referring to it in the socialist manner, libertarian municipalism which is a clear form of libertarian socialism, and the broader concept of anarchism in the socialist context. Won't argue with it but it's content relevant to libertarian socialism so will gather clearer sources. 4kbw9Df3Tw (talk) 15:44, 21 July 2023 (UTC)

If we allowed any source that mentioned "anarchism" but not "libertarian socialism" to be added, the article would rapidly spiral out of scope (as it already has in the past). "Implied" just doesn't cut it when it comes to synthesis. If a source doesn't explicitly and specifically reference "libertarian socialism", it's best not to add information from it. This is all for the sake of maintaining coherent and focused articles, rather than grab-bags of tangentially-related information. -- Grnrchst (talk) 16:03, 21 July 2023 (UTC)

We are talking about libertarian socialism, which has a broad scope in itself. You didn't even like the ones that talk specifically about libertarianism (in the socialist sense) and talk about socialism in a different line. 4kbw9Df3Tw (talk) 16:09, 21 July 2023 (UTC)

That it has a broad scope is precisely why we need to be careful by using sources that use the term explicitly and specifically. Libertarianism has its own article, as does socialism. If a source references "libertarianism" or "socialism" but not "libertarian socialism", that source is probably better utilised in those articles. Please understand that I'm just trying to maintain the article's specificity. In a previous version, 80% of the content consisted of information cited to sources that either (a) never referenced any of the information it was cited to; (b) never referenced the term "libertarian socialism"; (c) never even referenced the individual words "libertarianism" or "socialism". The remaining 20% was pretty badly sourced too. This is where my concerns with synthesis are coming from. -- Grnrchst (talk) 16:25, 21 July 2023 (UTC)

The problem is that you are narrowing the content so much that it is no longer useful for understanding libertarian socialism broadly. This extent of specificity of only working with sources that explicitly say "libertarian socialism" in that sequence is absurd when there are phrases that exist under libertarian socialism that are also libertarian socialist but use those specific titles. There is a reason the places and events you refuse to include under libertarian socialism are so often celebrated and supported by actual libertarian socialist groups. 4kbw9Df3Tw (talk) 02:17, 23 July 2023 (UTC)

I don't think sticking to Wikipedia's policices on verifiability and no original research are at all "absurd". I'm not "refusing" to including stuff under libertarian socialism, I'm just not interpreting sources to mean something they never actually say. If a source says "X is Y", then I can write "X is Y". But if a source just says "X", then I'm not going to write "X is Y" because that would just be my original interpretation.

But I digress, given this conversation is entirely about one article in particular, it should probably be in the talk page over there rather than in your user talk page. If you want to continue discussion there, feel free. -- Grnrchst (talk) 08:53, 23 July 2023 (UTC)

Introduction to contentious topics
